I'm no doubt happy for Biffle after a long time since his last victory but also happy for Gordon for finally getting back together after a bad first two races, then a thrown-away victory in Martinsville only to finally do well here. I'm actually happy for all other drivers too for racing cleanly...

Great run by Mark Martin to finish 3rd. Got to say, I'm seriously impressed with the pace shown by all three MWR cars so far this year.

He didn't throw away Martinsville. Stupid moves by drivers ruined his and Jimmie's race.

No, I meant the race was thrown away due to some circumstances either from other drivers or luck and not that he, himself throwing his own race away. ;)

Would you prefer, this race? Or the dog on the skateboard?
What type of dog is it?

The finish wasn't too bad. It's a shame drivers such as Gordon, Harvick, and Edwards didn't get a chance to catch up. Looked liked they could have made it more interesting up front.

Poodle vs. Rottweiler.
Hmm. I could see the Poddle getting a significant advantage in the corners, but the Rottweiler can flex its muscles in a straight. Throw in a Golden Retriever in the mix, and we got ourselves 3 hours of dog-skateboarding entertainment. :sly:

I'm enjoying these caution free races.

I attribute them to the experience in the field. There pretty much isn't any rookies, most guys have 2 or more years under their belt.

I liked the race, even if many thought it was boring without cautions. It was great seeing Jeff gain 30 spots during the race as well.

The Hendrick cars looked mediocre in practice, but as I said previously.. It was only practice. All four cars placing in the top ten shows just how good they are.

One of those times you hope for a mystery caution but it never shows. Gordon had a really good chance of winning that if a caution had come out.

Well JPM continues to hit strange things on the race track, this time it was a full bottle of gatorade!

I wonder how much he's regretting the decision to not run a full schedule this year. If I was him I'd be softly banging my head against a wall.

Who knows? He could be the first person to win a championship running a partial schedule... though there's a fat chance of that happening.

Calling it now, next Gatorade commercial is gonna show that repeatidly.

I think that it was either Ryan newmans fault or David ruitimen

It wasn't any of their fault. Reutimann had a problem and he wasn't able to get off the track and Newman wasn't the one who ran into gordon, that was Bowyer.

NASCAR Trucks at Rockingham on deck. Best of luck to all teams and drivers competing today at Rockingham. I still think Rockingham may eventually be a stop for all three of NASCAR's top touring series (Trucks, Nationwide, Cup). Time to see how the Trucks will take on The Rock (not the wrestler or the '90s movie).

Congratulations to all winners from the Texas races.

[UPDATE] I failed to mention Jeff Gordon's performance. I didn't see very much of the Texas race on Saturday night. It is still refreshing as a longtime fan of the #24 to see Jeff Gordon have such a strong run at Texas. I've always respected Greg Biffle. I remember when he was top dog in the Trucks series when I was just developing my interests as a racing fan.

Speaking of the Trucks, do you realize this race at Rockingham is the 48th different venue the Trucks have raced? They've even been at places including the likes of Portland International Raceway, Heartland Park Topeka, the now-defunct Mesa Marin, and places like that.

Nobody uses The Rock for much. It hosts a test n' tune/swap meet a few times a year, and now the truck race, but that is pretty much it.

And the ARCA series and maybe a few regional races. I bet if they filled the perimeter of the track with seats, the Cup and Nationwide series would return in a heartbeat.

They would need to build some highways, and maybe some hotels. Unless something has drastically changed since the last time I went to The Rock, it is still in the middle of nowhere.

Yeah, Rockingham looks ancient. However, let's not go to the level of saying we need Hermann Tilke to make Rockingham look more like Yas Marina Circuit or anything. Well- the race wrapped up minutes ago. Congratulations to (as noted by iaustin7) Kasey Khane for winning. Spare a thought for Nelson Piquet Jr. That error in the pits late in the race really hurt his winning chances. Otherwise, Piquet Jr. was money in the bank at Rockingham.

I don't normally watch much NASCAR, aside from the Daytona 500 and the two token road courses, but I did drop in for a while approaching the mid-point of the race. I noticed that the cars were pretty strung out and I figured I could almost hear 150,000 spectators snoring in the stands. Now, obviously that's a bit of an exaggeration, but I'm pretty confident at least 95% of that crowd would have favored the cars being bunched up and shuffling around. From discussions with NASCAR buddies of mine, they hate other series like F1 because the cars get strung out and don't shuffle positions arbitrarily, which is why I'd have figured they'd have been underwhelmed watching the same yesterday. Maybe someone should have tossed a hotdog over the fence.

Sounds like Roush is still trying to find a sponsor for the 6 car and will try to get it on the track again this season.

Roush could bring #6 car back soon: As soon as Roush Fenway Racing owner Jack Roush secures sponsorship for his #6 Ford, he's ready to bring the car back to the Sprint Cup Series with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. as the driver. The #6 has been in mothballs since Stenhouse drove it in the season-opening Daytona 500. "We've got the decal for the top of the roof on that 6 car all organized for Ricky," Roush said Friday night, after Stenhouse won the O'Reilly Auto Parts 300 Nationwide Series race at Texas. "As soon as I can find sponsorship for it, he's good to go. The highest priority we have for this year in the meantime is to defend (Stenhouse's) championship in the Nationwide series but hopefully we can find sponsorship and run the 6 car with him next year -- and we will run some races with him in the 6 Cup car before this year is over."

Really hope he finds some as I would like to see Ricky more in the Cup series.

Well, they threw a caution for a hat, so that might have actually worked.

I swear NASCAR and F1 switched roles this seasons. I'm finding the latter more exciting.

I'm just surprised how Ricky turned it around. There was a point in which I heard his name for the wrong reasons (crashing out).

The issue is whether Roush can have a 4-car team without one being the lemon.

Soon Roush will have a true successor to Mark Martin in the #6 and yeah it looks like Stenhouse.

lol, fans criticize the phantom debri cautions, now they're wishing for them!

Does NASCAR really need yellow flags and double file restarts to put on an exciting race? Greg Biffle passed Jimmie Johnson for the lead with about 20 laps to go during an extremely long green flag run. Is that not good racing?

Would people rather see a green white checkered lottery smash up like Martinsville?

Martinsville was a brilliant race right up until the last caution. Jeff Gordon slowly chasing down Johnson until passing him. The race should have ended like that.

I agree, but watching the overtaking in F1 is like watching Mark McGuire battle Sammy Sosa for the lead in home runs. Exciting but tainted as can be because of steroids/DRS

Or, why for the second time, Bayne is going to end up getting punted to the side.
