It's not the finding a spot that's an issue. It's finding sponsors. Kenseth just isn't marketable like other drivers are.

Sadly its hard for robots to attract sponsors.

Why do you think of him as a robot? Kenseth is full of personality!

How long have you been watching NASCAR to never hear that expression used on Matt Kenseth?

Honestly, Kenseth just sort of comes off as cold and not really a Marketable personality.

'03 was the first year I watched NASCAR, and the only thing I remember Kenseth doing is doing a donut when he won the championship.

Hey, depending on where he goes, I can actually start cheering for Kenseth now.

I can see the future now, I can see Matt driving a Chevrolet SS sponsored by Quicken Lones with a Number #17 on the side of it. I can also see myself changing my avatar from 24 to 17 in the coming months.

Whatever do you mean?

In another NASCAR forum years ago, someone commented if that Kenseth was an ice cream flavor, they'd have to make a new one since going with vanilla would be insulting to vanilla.

Well atleast he has more personality than Johnson lol

You're telling me he has more personality then a guy who was willing to were the silliest afro I've ever seen, in victory lane, on TV?

Maybe its just me, but I've never gotten the sense of personality like the other drivers. Never disliked him, but found him just slightly emotionless, sometimes Kimi emotionless.

I told you before Dreamworks ordered Johnson team to wear those afros! lmao

You should save yourself time and merge every NASCAR driver's number into one big picture and putting it as your avatar?

You're one of those "follow the band wagon" people aren't you?

Or 12.

We've had this conversation on marketing and advertising of Roush-Fenway drivers earlier on in this thread.

Nonetheless, what it comes down to is not personality really, I mean Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick in their earlier days were like schoolkids but still attracted sponsors.

In these tough times, its more complicated than winning races or the Daytona 500 in Kenseth's case but it comes down to TV time and air time.

This sounds possibly ridiculous but take Hendrick. Drivers their have Cup titles like Kenseth but a possible theory in my book is looks really. I mean Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon and Kasey Kahne - they will naturally be more adept to selling more of themselves on TV advertisements, sponsorship deals and the like. We naturally are attracted to good-looking racecar drivers and many sponsors aren't all masculine but feminine now and we all realise how many soccermoms love Jeff Gordon.

Sounds crazy but come to think of it, it may be a cog in the machine.

Poll:
Who thinks Lewis Hamilton will end up in NASCAR?
If he does, where would he go? Would he be any good?

I could see him doing it someday, just not for the next couple years. I think he still has a few more F1 years in him.

I could see Felipe Massa going to race in America in the future actually, be that Indy or NASCAR. I don't think he's the kind of person who's going to want to stick around at a mid-grid team if Ferrari can him at the end of this season.

Very unlikely. None of the current F1 crop seem destined to try to be in NASCAR.

I see Massa / Barrichello / Kanaan in Indycar super team but thats another topic... Massa to trucks with Piquet?

The chances of Kurt Busch going to RCR are? In my opinion 65%. I think Kevin and Kurt would be fighting would be fighting in no time!

From Matt :

''Everybody's personality is different, and I've always preferred to do as much of my business as possible behind closed doors because it's my business and my career,'' Kenseth said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press.
