As said months ago, it's not the lack of road courses, it's rather the lack of interesting ovals such as The Rock and North Wilkesboro and the inclusion of so many "cookie-cutter" ovals that makes NASCAR boring. I wouldn't mind another road course being added, however.

I've noticed, too big tracks are bad, too short tracks are bad, in between is good racing.

Except for Martinsville.

I say Road America at least is a must.

It's really sad but NASCAR just doesn't interest me anymore. Too many rules in my opinion.

It's slowly getting that way for me! You have some boring races over last few years from new car, new pavement, or new rules. Plate tracks need to look at nationwide car and work with that package, take away some 1.5 to go to road course and different tracks.


You know it's sad when Trucks are putting on the best show these days! They need to go back to drawing board on all 3 series though.

The root of the problem is who is running the show, and their pockets keep getting deeper. Just like they need to cut prices on tickets to get more fans to the track but that won't happen.
 
So this Allmendinger thing is looking like it's going to be something silly.

Hell Mythbusters proved (through evidence of actual court cases where it was further proven) that people can test positive for heroin just by eating poppy seeds. Granted, it sounds like 'dinger only barely failed due to the presence of a mild enhancer, so there's the chance that it was just some hidden ingredient in a pill bottle he took.


Or he's lying and was doping up bad.
 
That's just the nature of modern drug tests. So strict and can pick out exactly what the substance is, even if it's the tiniest amount.

His only chance is to pull off a run like Brad K did last year to get himself in, but with Jeff's luck this year I doubt it's going to happen. Bit disappointing, but it's not his first time missing the chase.

In that case, get on track mate! At this moment in time he'd need a clone of himself also contributing to his points tally to make the chase.
 
I keep going back-and-forth on whether Jeff will make the Chase. Right now I believe that he has two final hopes to make the Chase - New Hampshire and Atlanta. Gordon is very good at both of those tracks and could probably collect a win before the Chase and so long as he stays consistent (and win at least a single race), he can get a wild card spot.
 
He would need two wins and quite a few good finishes to have a comfortable shot at making the Chase. At the same time, one more bad finish and he's done for. Even if he does make it in, though, what good would it do? The chances of his even making it into the top ten at the end of the season, given his performances so far, are fairly slim IMO. I'd love to see him prove me wrong, but I just don't see it happening.

I knew about Indy. I just said NHMS and Atlanta since they are his best two as of recently. In fact, this is the time of the year that Jeff Gordon seems to shine. Of his 85 wins, 30 wins came on the 8 tracks that are coming up before the Chase. That's over 1/3 of his wins at each of these tracks combined, so don't count him out just yet.

I think he still has a chance. He has been working his way back up the standings, currently is 17th. He will need a win though.

Still a few tracks left before the chase that he runs well at.
 
It's been over 10 hours since my post here so I guess it is ok.

Ol' No-time is on the pole at Loudon.
