No. I spent enough time doing endless laps around Indy to earn money for a Formula GT that I don't ever want to see another oval as long as I live. I would vastly prefer they spend their time creating other non-oval tracks.

New poll up

It isn't a "new pole". You just reset it so you could post "new pole" and bump this thread.

The pole asks the exact same thing as the last one. This topic was already discussed to death which is why the thread died. I still don't understand why you seem obsessed with bumping your old threads.

I would much rather see the inclusion of some older Nascars if possible. There really is not much need to have 40+ Nascars in the game when there are only 3 models out there.

Huge NASCAR fan, but no. Just get enough so that there won't be duplicates in the field. GT5 had only 11, I believe, and that led to some dupes. 16-20 is a good amount..anything more, however...I'm fine with that. :sly:

I'm not a big NASCAR fan, but I really think they shouldn't remove anything, just add to it. So PD should add as many racing series and leagues as SONY can afford, and PD needs to include enough homologated cars so there aren't any duplicates, and no weird cars that don't belong, like the Chaparral.

@Mopar. Bumping is stupid.

I see no reason for them to not keep them, and they could add the winged COTs that where cut from GT5.

I agree that they should not remove the ones that are there and counting the DLC I think there are 22 or 23 total. As for dupes there are only 3 models for each year so only 6 different cars really. If they included a way to change the livery then there would be no need for more than the 6 or 9 if they want to add the 2013 models more if they would add the classic models. Would be sweet to have some Thunderbirds, Monte Carlos, Pontiacs, Olds, Buick ect.

I feel like everyone of those "Nascar isn't a real sport" discussions here on GTplanet ends up like those religous discussions in the YouTube comments.

But anyways. I've watched Formula 1 since i was four, (I'm 14) and until i was 12 years old i thought it was exciting and close racing. But then i started watch some Indycar and Nascar. And i have to say, both sports have incredibly close racing. But i think Nascar is a tiny fraction better. It's the trading of paint and bumping while they're hurdling towards the finish line and ending up in a photo-finish that excites me the most. But still, both Indycar and Nascar have very close racing.

NASCAR races are just simply fun. I don't even watch it much but getting into a room with others and rough racing...nothing better. I would be shocked if they dumped NASCAR based on the fact that the majority of online races are NASCAR events. I agree with Pit Crew, 2 or 3 more ovals. A short track could really be fun.

By what PD have said you should at the very least still have Indy, Daytona and all of the NASCARS from GT5.

Some historic stock cars PD could add. They would be very useful because with a livery editor you could create an entire fleet of stock cars based off of one model to build a championship around. That way you dont have to worry about one of these cars not having an equal anywhere to race against.

+1 With the inclusion of NASCAR, I had hoped that vintage stock cars would have been included. Actually, I hope for more vintage race cars, in general. Recreating Goodwood and/or the Rolex Monterrey Reunion at Laguna Seca.

I do wish for more NASCAR tracks, preferably Watkins Glen, Road America, Road Atlanta, Sonoma, Montreal and Hermanos Rodriguez circuits since they can expand the GT racing, too. But, if that does not happen, I won't complain. I liked the A-Spec NASCAR Grand Valley event. Grand Valley and NASCAR stock cars fit very well together IMO.

If you're racing on oval's, NASCAR is a must. I wouldn't mind seeing a few more liveries or racers included, but would be a little upset if it wasn't in. And I'm sorry, but joining those online NASCAR Dirty rooms is fun and absolutely hilarious :D

I really hope they are in GT6 but am not expecting it. I say if NASCAR doesn't allow it, then make 3 blank stock cars. We can change the number and paint. Have 892 hp again and everything.

The only type of race car I wouldn't take instead of NASCAR would be Sprint Cars. I would gladly trade the NASCARs for something more excting such as Trans-Am, Can-Am, Time Attack or V8 Supercars. And I wouldn't care if the Indy, Daytona and Motegi ovals dissappeared either.

As much as I hate the actual thing, the cars themselves are quite fun to drive on technical courses. I don't see any reason as to why they are not to return though, didn't we get confirmation that all GT5 cars will be in the game?

If you've ever done NASCAR on SSRX, you will love it. End of story.

I don't see why Nascar HAS to be excluded as some of you seem to imply. If you don't like them, then don't race them. Simple as that.

That said, I would like to see the updated 2013 models in the game. They might actually handle closer to what the 2011 models do now that they dropped 100 lbs and added a ton more of downforce.

Would I like to see more NASCAR tracks? Sure, but I won't be too disappointed if there aren't. Main ones I hope for would be Richmond, Watkins Glen, Sonoma, and Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, all of which can be used by other cars. I would like to see the repaved version of Daytona (both oval and road course) and I would love to see the transition from day to night and have the lights come on!

And a big part of the fun with including NASCAR in GT5 is taking them to race tracks around the world. Monza is quite a good NASCAR track, as well as Spa and Grand Valley. NASCAR has actually used the Suzuka East Course before as well.

If you want a dandy of a challenge in a NASCAR stock car, take it to the Nurburgring 24H course, take off all the aids, and crank the weather up all the way to a full wet race track. Slap on some rain tires and try to make a clean lap! It can be done, but it is TOUGH!

And there ARE restrictor plates (power limiter) if you want to use them at Daytona, but I also think it's fun NOT using them just to understand the sheer implausibility of taking them off in real life.

So yeah, keep them in GT6, which I am willing to bet they will.

GT series is the GT series and NASCAR is NASCAR and never the twain should meet.

But sense we can't un-screw that pony here's the deal.

NASCAR is MASSIVELY misunderstood by most casual observers and completely misunderstood by people who think it's just about turning left and going as fast as you can. NASCAR is about strategy, teamwork and technical knowledge about the exact way cars handle. Our little beloved game doesn't get close enough in it's "realism" to handle NASCAR (or F1 or half a dozen other major motor sports). If it did then we would be able to adjust a car at ALL FOUR CORNERS not just front and rear. We would be able to handle tire pressure for each tire and races wouldn't be sprint races but races with pit stops, tire management and fuel managment.

How many out there who don't follow NASCAR understand that there is no fuel gauge in a NASCAR? Yeah, it's a little bit, skill, knowledge, luck, experience and technical knowledge to figure out if your car will have enough gas to finish a race and generally it's the manager not the drive who figures that out.

NASCAR is an interesting little diversion in GT5 but other than that - and a gimmick to try and draw in more paying American customers - it really doesn't belong in GT6 because it needs it's own dedicated game again.

I'm not a fan but hey why not build a stand alone NASCAR game for the US market. So no I don't want to see it in the new GT.

They have already said that all the cars from GT5 will be returning which would mean that there will be Nascars.

This.

The question is: Will there be any more oval tracks? Daytona and Indy are not the best driver's tracks in NASCAR.

Give me some short tracks.

You might use alot of different words to describe racing at Bristol or Martinsville, but "boring" isn't one of them.

I would have to vote no. I am a fan of NASCAR, but I didn't get GT5 for it. I say let the people who make strait NASCAR games keep making them. I would enjoy Austrialian Super V8s be used more. I watched the race they had at Texas awhile back and thought it was a great, and fun race. If they do put it back in, I would like to see races that are ran by NASCAR. London is no fun for these cars.

Motegi is not bad with Nascars. Bristol would be cool but I like them on Nurburgring :)

I voted "Yes" and there is a couple of good reasons why.
Firstly, they are great to drive - both on ovals and road courses. I like racing them at Motegi Speedway as well as on the Nordschleife.
Secondly, have you ever selected "Daytona" when you were searching for an online lobby? There are a lot of lobbies just about NASCAR - both dirty and clean. Both versions are fun, I prefer the dirty rooms. Dirty NASCAR is massive fun and hugely addictive.

I think that many people on here are asking for too many NASCAR tracks, though. I mean Talladega, Bristol, Martinsville, Sonoma, The Glen, Richmond, Road America, Michigan, Phoenix, Montréal, Dover, Texas... Really? I do agree that having more of these tracks would be great, but Bristol or Martinsville, Texas, Sonoma, The Glen and Montréal would be enough. I am 100% sure that Sonoma, Watkins Glen and Montréal are going to be used by many other things than NASCAR. One particular track I would like to see is Sebring, though. Then implement the 12h race as an endurance race and I will be happy.

Something else I'd like to see is a format they're doing in ALMS and Grand Am. A 2 hour race with 2 classes. But that is just wishful thinking I guess.

Motegi isn't bad but it's not a NASCAR track. I figure you have the cars, have the tracks. Daytona is the only pure NASCAR track in GT5.

They did run Nascar there once on the oval. I think it was the first race where Dale Sr and Jr ran in the same race.

I got the GameStop Nascar Camry when I bought the game and only used to do half a race of the seasonals a few weeks ago, got the Lowe's Impala because it was the fastest to do the A-Spec event only and never used it again....I think that answers if I want Nascar in GT6 xD

Watkins Glenn, Sonoma, Pocono, Phoenix and one of the 1.5 mile cookie cutter tracks (because including one means you can essentially duplicate the entire schedule :sly:) like Atlanta or Las Vegas... or Charlotte... or Texas. Whichever one has a semi-active in-field road course preferably. Now you've got two fabulous road courses, two very interesting ovals (Pocono and Phoenix) which could arguably provide a challenge to any car.. and then one track which would help replicate good ole' modern NASCAR racing.

And the historic stock cars are a must.

I voted yes. I don't 'love' Nascar. Anyway I had fun with friends on Nascar races and ...it's a different driving experience so... why not?
One of the aspects I love in this game is the variety of possible driving experiences you may have.

It's curious they didn't show anything until now, especially in US.
I like to think they are able to put 24 cars on track and they still do not want to tell us... :)
