Well, @a6m5 , half of your jinxing didn't work because it was a flag-to-flag (to use racing speak) victory for the Houston Rockets against the San Antonio Spurs. We won 98-81 in our first match within our division. That division is the NBA equivalent of SEC football- the Southwest Division. The Rockets still delivered despite rest given to two key Spurs players. This is the Rockets' first 6-0 start for since 1996-1997. I still reserve my judgment on this season's team despite the strong start for the Rockets.

Congratulations to the eventual winner of DAL at POR.

I checked the score at the half. I forgot all about the game, I checked the final score. I am dumbfounded.

Go Blazers.

Lebron on Cleveland = cheese. And when he's not cheesing, it's not looking very good.

I think he comes back to Miami in 2 years when Cleveland doesn't win anything.

The Toronto Raptors are playing tonight with these uniforms as part of their 20th Anniversary deal. I'm digging this uniform, but what say you? Yay or nay?

As of this post, the Raptors currently lead the visiting Washington Wizards 86-64 with about 8:55 left in the 4th Quarter. Toronto is seeking their first-ever 5-1 start in franchise history.

Did the Bulls just give up 115 points to the filthy 76ers?

It's nice we scored 118 on them, but this defensive showing was pathetic. And again the Bulls lost on the rebounding, and this time to the worst team in that stat.

Ok Chicago start getting your rebounds damn it. Rose is the least of your concerns if you keep giving up these boards.

I imagine Thibs is not a happy man. We simply almost collapsed against the 76ers after building a big lead.

We should have blown out the scrub 76ers from the start.

@JohnBM01

Those unis look old school. Hope they wear them when Chicago hands them their second loss of the season.

And lol at these losers on Espn boards hating on Rose. Look if you have a team that's deep, have an easy schedule, and a star PG who's ankles are hurting, you rest the sucker and use your depth.

Those jerseys are notorious for being one of the worst ever from the 90's. And that's quite the accomplishment considering the jerseys from the 90's
I had the chance to buy a Damon Stoudemire one in a Ross a few years ago, I wish I bought it.

EDIT: The Suns can't close out games. We lost to a Kings team with a fouled-out Demarcus Cousins in 2OT. Dragic and Bledsoe are playing the wrong roles. Dragic is not a good spot-up shooter and Bledsoe is not a good playmaker. Oh, and we can't rebound.

Raptors balled today and gave the Wizards a good old fashioned beatdown. They seem to be finding their rhythm, which will be good for when they take outright first in the East after beating @sumbrownkid's Bulls.:p

Are you mad?!:scared: The purple Raptors jerseys were pure awesome, I love it.

@Paulie

At the end of the day man, both of our teams will be looking down at the Cavs.

To be honest I think the Bulls lack of rebounding will do us in Toronto.

I guess it will depend on the health of our players, Amir Johnson has bum ankles too, though the Bulls certainly have the upper hand when all are healthy. I still think the Cavs will sort it out and get 2nd in the East.

Man Bulls are getting wrecked by the Celts, but it's a case of Bulls not making anything, even lay ups, and defense being putrid/Celts making everything.

I guess a bad game was due.

Well at least the Bulls made a late run, but again the lack of rebounding killed us.

This is the 5th straight game we lost the rebounding battle, Thibs has to be concerned.

Golden State won 98-87 here in Houston, proving all good things must come to an end. I heard of the struggles James Harden and Canaan had tonight. This isn't like football in which one loss somehow means the season is a failure. So the Rockets failed for the first time this season and fall to 7-1.

Congratulations to all other winners from Saturday.

"Fall" to 7-1.

Sad news... Ernie Vandeweghe died earlier today at the age of 86. A brief piece looking back on him can be seen here:

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/former-nba-player-ernie-vandeweghe-dies-86-194659987--nba.html

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Vandeweghe family and all whom have known the fallen Ernie Vandeweghe. How will you remember him?

On a much lighter note, I must say that I'm starting to like Klay Thompson. I saw his work when the Warriors hosted the Lakers earlier this season. He may just be a superstar in the making if he keeps up his solid play. I'm not kissing up to Golden State because they beat my Rockets last night, but I'm just showing some love for Mr. Klay Thompson.

Any newcomers or rookie/sophomore players you are impressed with so far? What about any surprise teams or players so far (good or bad)? Any underrated players or teams so far?

The Suns managed to hand the Warriors their first loss, after trailing basically the whole game and having a sudden offensive explosion in the last 3 minutes.
Eric Bledsoe is not playing like $70 million recently.
Isaiah Thomas is, and he's only being paid $27 million.
That's a bargain.

I hope this is a sign of the game to come later this week, Bulls beat the 76'ers by 3, Raptors beat them by 32.:D Lots of Raptors with some epic dunks/layups/plays, just not sure if they count when playing Philly who didn't even have Noel.:boggled: Honestly I probably don't expect the Raptors to beat the Bulls, Gasol will have his way with Valanciunas who has been a little frustrating at times.

I saw most of that PHI at TOR game last night on NBA TV. It pains me as a Rockets fan to see ex-Rockets put that beat down on the Sixers. Raptors the likes of Kyle Lowry and Terrence(?) Jones, and Patrick Patterson contributed to the Sixers' spanking.

No more unbeaten teams now that the last unbeaten- Golden State failed last night in Phoenix. Prepare to lose... just don't lose with regularity if you want to be in the playoffs.

Finally the Bulls win the rebounding game, and against a team that's good at it (the Pistons).

Rose played great, along with the rest of the team, though the Pistons almost made a comeback, Thibs managed to get his men back in action and end it was a run to beat them by 11.

Thanks to the Bulls for helping us forget the putrid Diarrhea that is the Chicago Bears.

Pau Gasol is turning out to be a BIG upgrade over Boozer.

Up next, the Raptors.

Hopefully the Bulls make them extinct at the end of four quarters.

Happy Veteran's Day, everyone. It's Tuesday- which means one thing to NBA fans- Fan Night! And this week's NBA Fan Night Game of the Week is...

...San Antonio Spurs at Golden State Warriors!

The fans picked a good one as San Antonio concludes their back-to-back by taking a trip up the Pacific coastline to Oakland. a6m5's Spurs played last night at the Los Angeles Clippers. What will the black and silver of SA do against the blue and gold of Golden State? We'll see tonight.

Enjoy some Tuesday NBA hoops, folks. I tried to post this earlier, but my Android tablet froze on me trying to type this post. So I did this post on my PC. Anyhow, enjoy your basketball.

All congratulations to Dirk N. on his accomplishments as well as for the Dallas Mavericks picking up the win. Dirk is surely Hall of Fame bound.

Blazers & the Spurs are warming up. Blazers were down most of the night against the Hornets, I was very pleasantly surprised by the win. :)

Some of you have issue with the NFL playing games in London, England, UK. Well... what do you think about the NBA playing a game in Mexico City, Mexico? I just remembered my Rockets will play tonight against the Minnesota Timberwolves in Mexico City tonight. This is sort of like a home game for us since our NBA D-League team- the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, is very close to Mexico. They play in Hidalgo, TX; which is maybe 20 or so miles away from Brownsville.

So anyways, enjoy some Hump Day NBA basketball. Or should I say Hump Night in this case.

Don't forget Kobe's reputation as a chucker now has statistically historical validation! Most missed field goals of all time.

One more day until the Raptors chow down on some steak.:sly: But this is their first truly quality opponent against the Bulls so who knows.:nervous:

Blazers has 84 points in Denver. For the half. :dopey:

They say the club record is 86 for the half(or the first half, I forget). Way this half was going, I'm surprised they couldn't get 90. Denver looks absolutely horrible, both offensively & defensively.
If the Hornets had 1 extra second, though.... :scared:
Yeah, Blazers stole that game for sure. Of course, bottom line, you close out games & they did do that, so I'm happy!
what do you think about the NBA playing a game in Mexico City, Mexico?
Just last season.
Lot of fans don't make this connection. 👍

The Suns made a huge comeback winning 112-104, after allowing Brooklyn to shoot 70% in the first half. They figured out what defense was, and aside from the instant offense of Isaiah Thomas and Gerald Green, that was the huge difference maker.
This is gonna be an interesting battle for 6th man of the Year.
