I'm surprised BlackPanthaa actually got his message across to EA and Ghost Games. Most people would have just viewed that video as fruitless criticism, especially a company with a reputation like EA. However, fast forward a year and now Ghost Games and BlackPanthaa have collaborated for the upcoming release.

Question for beta players. I was reading elsewhere that customization of cars was different depending on the car, ( I can't quite remember where the source is atm) Some cares have very limited body customization, others not so much, is this true? or do you think this is due to the beta being more of a pizza slice release then having all the features in the game?

Can I only select a body kit for my cars and not modify individual parts? like bumpers, fenders, etc?

How in depth is the customization? Does changing your mechanical parts engine, suspension differ depending on the brand? even if they are the same category (EG racing tires/suspension)

Thank for your time.

I remember that Ghost Games has stated that the customization seen in the beta is only a very little part of that seen in the full game. Plus, Ben (the community manager) has said that the build used for the beta is pretty old.

I figured that should be the case, I've been in closed betas before and generally as a beta tester there's only certain things they want available for testing purposes.

I agree; I've played the ModNation Racers beta 5 years ago, and that only featured 4 tracks, a handful of preset characters and karts - as well as a few parts for the character and kart editor, and only one venue available for the track editor out of the original four.
By the way, I really want a new ModNation Racers on the PS4.

It's probably not every part and there may even be more cars. If you apply a bodykit then you can't change any of the parts the bodykit replaces. So if you get a GT-R Liberty Walk kit you can't change anything aside from wheels and stance but if you get an RWB kit for the 911 930 then you can edit the wing. Varies from kit to kit. Also performance is basically a level system but with names. Most expensive part is best. No brands with them.

Do the parts have any compromises (shifting powerband over, etc) or all they all just generic go faster parts?
AFAICT they just make it better, but you can get grip & drift tyres. Grip shifts the handling for grip and drift shifts it to drift. Most handling parts just let you customize the drift/grip setup a bit more.

I like how people are complaining about the beta like it's a full game.

I also love how when anybody points out "It's just a beta!", everyone goes like "*while shutting out their ears* LALALALA WE'RE NOT LISTENING LALALALALA GHOST GAMES HAS FAILED US LALALALALA".

And I'm all like...

Agreed. The fact that they are still working on the cop AI was a good idicator to me that nothing in the beta is final. People on Reddit who want the game delayed are overreacting.
The Cop AI seems ok to me apart from the fact they seem to crash into walls a lot and there is a lack of Charger cop cars (only run into 1 of them so far).

That's because the game is out than less than a month....and historically problems in a games beta persist throughout to the main game. Look at The Crew for example. It had handling/AI problems all through the multiple betas it had and still (mostly) has those problems today. I'd loved to be proven wrong however, I just don't see my problems with the AI, Handling and numerous other things getting fixed in less than a month.

Betas differ from game to game, the crew for instance had a beta that pretty much didn't change in content that much from where it was to release. Then you have Elite Dangerous, which in beta to release didn't change in over all content.

It's possible that the full release of the game may not add that much more in terms of content than what is in the beta. So it's easy for me to understand why people will get very skeptical from what is shown. Not that I'm going to judge the game at this point, only when it releases we'll see. In my case I'm going to be waiting awhile, because I'll be getting it on PC.

Do you know if there will be individual bumpers and such that aren't a part of a kit that you can use? Or do all the cars just have kits?

You can change bumpers, side skirts, hoods and wings individually.

Awesome, thank you. I saw Black Pantha's video on the game so far, hes saying its possible, now I'm sure this is coming from his own speculation, that eventually they could add in manual transmission and such. I'd like to see NFS just stop releasing game after game and really expand on one game for awhile.

It does seem possible as cars seem to change gears at realistic times so there could be realistic gear ratios on each car but maybe they decided not to add it in for a reason.

Also I tried all drive and was doing drift events up in the mountains with 2 random players. One had an E92 M3 and one had a lime green FD.

Since it's not Ben or Ghost Games directly saying it I'll not pay attention to it but I do think the customization isn't final, I mean, no customization options whatsoever on the 458 Italia besides a GT3 kit? I do think stuff has been left out of the beta. Besides, the beta was designed for us to find bugs, not to nitpick about what was/wasn't in the game.

That's funny because like I said in my last posts, it's just hilarious how EA is paying this guy in favors to promote their new game while this very same guy was straight up bashing the NFS series just one year ago over and over.
And no, this is far from constructive criticism, is straight up hating on the game.

Its funny because he called out Criterion so many times about how the tap to drift handling was terrible, took no skill and shouldn't be in NFS......and now that is suddenly ok when the same model is in NFS 2015, just under a drift handling setting? I wonder what changed?

Also, the Grip handling slider is useless. I dont think I've seen one person say they're gonna use it. Well unless you want to have your car understeer like a boat 24/7!

Those who hate the drift handling probably will.

Is anybody still having connection problems? I'm trying solo mode on the PS4 & it keeps saying it cannot connect to the server or something.

Mine was fine for a while, played PCars for half an hour then the servers were down again when I went on to it.

Ok. I was able to play yesterday, but after today's update, I haven't been able to play at all yet today. . .
Yeah, the update 🤬 up the PS4 servers a small bit. Was perfectly fine the past 2 days
