An arcade game with realistic tuning and wings that effect performance? I think that's a first. Ghost Games really are making an effort to lure previous players of NFS back to the franchise (like me), and they've succeeded - I can't wait for this game to come out, it has all my street racing fantasies!

I kind of had a gut feeling that it'd be in the game, since they were going back to the Underground-Carbon era, but to have it confirmed is such a nice feeling. They took their time revealing it, but that's part of the hype game.

Misunderstanding. In FM you're not given a block and build the head yourself as it seems Ghost is indicating here (we wont know until we see the final product). Rather it seems there a different bottom end pieces (different blocks) and top end pieces (cam and cylinder heads probably port and polish) and thus you essentially get to build your engine rather than pick an engine that is popular with the car you're building. So converting say an old Mustang to have the New Coyote engine is something FM would do but need for speed seems to let you build it this time around rather than just buy it yourself. Thus potentially giving more options with simple tuning ideas that any game could do if they say down and thought it out.
I'm still not seeing much difference. While FM6 doesn't let you select different blocks, everything else seems pretty similar in terms of whats available for modification.

Still, with such little detail, its hard to pinpoint right now.

FM you buy the motor as is and you can enhance from there, sometimes you can't. Here I'm saying you get a block and heads and other parts and put them together, in other words not exactly the same thing. People are expecting it would seem, complete drive train swaps like FM. So instead of doing an SR20 I swap to and RB as Forza allows, here it isn't that simple it seems and it definitely wouldn't let you switch to an awd platform like FM if that is the full parts list.'

Or you can modify the stock motor, or purchase a different motor and modify it in all the same exact ways. Every motor is modifiable. I'm not expecting drivetrain swaps or motorswaps for that matter, but still, I'm not seeing how you think it's that different, really.

It all seems to revolve around the same idea. You'd be able to purchase different intakes, fuel systems, exhaust systems, cams, bore out the head, valves, induction types, cooling systems and so on in both games, and it's not to far off to assume that they'll have different levels of each part. If that's the case, It seems like a similar system to how FM6 has, albeit, with a few more additions like the ECU and different blocks and what not.

I'm really interested to know what it means about durability up in those quotes, as that would be an interesting aspect to have in the game.

I'm not talking about the stock motor, my comments are directly in regards to @Gerarghini being worried that a direct engine swap will not be happening in this upcoming game. The reason I think you are not understanding me is because your forgetting the context or who I was initially responding to and now explaining my initial comments.

No where do I mention or hint that you can modify a stock motor nor do I need to be reminded or told that all engines are able to be modified. I'm also not saying that the system is completely different between any single game that allows modifying. What I'm saying is instead of getting a complete engine that didn't come in the car when you bought it (crate motors) doesn't seem to be the case here which is what most probably were expecting. However, I'm saying people shouldn't worry because instead of just buying the motor you want it seems in this game you can build the motor you want the way you want it. The detail of which is yet to be seen.

Beyond that I don't see how I can make it more clear to you.

Ahhh yeah that must be it. We are going with two different subject in mind. Sorry about that.

The way the modification list is put out like that, I'm not sure how you would assume that you are building an engine, rather then selecting multiple layers of parts like most games have. With the little info we have, it just seems more along the lines of any other game where you're just giving a selection of bolt on parts/internals to mess with. To me, it just looks as if it'll be along the lines of any other game, or even their past games. That's why I was asking, though I'm not seeing the need to be so offputting on this last paragraph.
