Its idiotic.

Its like they never learn from Sim City before.

Its just shows how far away corporates detached from both community and reality.

So many people complaining about the game it is ridiculous and people are comparing this to Sim City.... Really? NFS has been 'dead' since the PS2 era but it is nice to see a glimmer of hope the series is returning like it was in their prime.

Simple, if you don't like how the game is constructed then no one is forcing you to buy it.

This game has enormous potential. Real free roam, Customization, car list.

However, while always online seems to be a minor problem (i doubt people who own PS4 puts internet as afterthought), then theres bigger problem. What if the ISP suddenly has problems? What if the connection gone lost because other people use the internet? What if the server gone overload at launch (you know, like SimCity where it finally recovered for weeks, but even then its still wonky and look at the companies fate now). What if i take the console/PC/Laptop to the place where internet signal doesnt exist. What if the EA/PSN/XLive server is on maintenance? Better yet, what if the EA finally shuts down its server? Do you want to throw the game in garbage because it technically unplayable and unsellable at that point.

Many of us want NFS to return to the PS2 era, but EA/Ghost are shooting themselves in the foot by doing things like this 'always online' rubbish. There's still no confirmation on if the PC version will be locked to 30 FPS either, which is rather alarming seeing as that there isn't much time between now and the launch of the game.

Can't see anything to suggest it's a Boss 302.
Looks like a Boss 302 to me:

I can put up with everything except the 30fps lock, that is the one thing that will kill this game on PC. It's so sad that we have to even worry about it but surely they learnt their lesson after Rivals.

I heard some people who hack its way into running 60 FPS in rivals. However, it taken toll to the physics. Now it becomes very wonky and the view angle becomes weird.

Though what happens since previous NFS didnt have this problems is everyone guess.

I don't mind a 30FPS lock provided it actually stays at 30. If NFS 2015 couldn't run on PS4 at solid 60 I get why it would be locked to 30 on consoles. PC however shouldn't be FPS locked.

Yeah it can be done but it's not perfect, I run Rivals at 50fps. The fact that they locked a PC game to any frame rate in 2013 is ridiculous let alone 30fps!? People spend thousands of dollars on powerful PC's with 144hz monitors and they try to make us play at 30fps???? Get real.

It will be 30fps lock which is ancient
It will be always online coz EA says so
It will sit around "paid reviews" score of 7.9-8.4 especially IGN who are the biggest taker
It will neglect the essence of what NFS underground series stood for with the removal of key features like MT, no Dyno Tuning, average car list.
It will be forgotten about after a few months

Oh but it looks pretty, so that's fine.

That's my PC prediction anyway, maybe it would be better to get this on console seeing as they always neglect the PC version of DLC or support. Thing is, I'll already have Forza 6 and a ton of other games by then so, hmm.

1. True
2. Possible
3. The "essence" of NFS Underground doesn't revolve around manual and you don't know if there will be dyno tuning and we know a tiny piece of the full car list
4. I don't think so.

Mainly for me, NFS stood, at the TIME, for those things, good cars, good tuning, freedom of choice (which just happens to include features like MT) and HEY, they even ran at 60fps and today run at like 300 with no issues, which is sad indeed by modern standard comparisons. Besides, that's more essence for "me" though but MT in any racing or driving game has no excuse, NO EXCUSE not be in.

Also you got the list in the wrong order i mentioned 5 things :P.

It will be forgotten pretty quick, kinda like how the other games were apart from Hp:2010 as it actually had a good game underneath it, UNLESS they keep up with post support...and ya know...CREATE A FORUM ON EA.COM TO DISCUSS NFS GAMES ON WHICH THEY NEVER HAVE DONE SINCE PRO STREET! Which is utterly, utterly shameful. Shows how much they care for their product, NOT.

@TiZzla Lol it will be because it's the way they make PC games these days, lack of effort. Expect parity and terrible options mentions and lack of PC basics in the GUI.

Sounds cool but I'm thinking it will be really basic like "more camber = more grip". I mean this is an arcade game after all. I would be surprised if the tuning is even slightly as deep as Underground 2.

Am I the one bothered by the shameless promotion of SpeedHunters' idols?

Magnus Walker? Of course, I want a clothes designer who got rich and now "transforms" Porsches to tell me what to do, dressed in his obnoxious "LOOK-AT-ME, I'M A TRY-HARD" stye. Ken Block? A man famous for some admittedly awesome viral videos and ZILCH results in WRC. The mobster in Luke Huxham's "Underground Hero"? That's even kind of offensive. Why the heck should I be interested in a freaking criminal and why should I look up to him? Because the bros of contemporary "car culture" tell me he's awesome? Might as well go the extra mile and throw Pablo Escobar into the mix, he raced some awesome Porsches and Renaults and had all the "Underground Hero" and "Love to hate me" swag that Huxham attributes to that criminal.

I had high hopes for the involvement of SpeedHunters in the game design but I didn't expect them to 🤬 it up so badly. Yeah, great customization and all, but if that's what they wanna promote as "car culture" then by all means count me out of such culture, I wan't nothing to do with rich posers and criminals.

It would be cool if NFS did a homage game with a Japanese atmosphere. Despite the Underground tuner culture, all of their games have always had a Western feel. We already have Nakai-san and the yakuza dude. For speed they should put Keiichi Tsuchiya and for style one of the Formula D or D1GP guys (personally I love Daijiro Yoshihara and his S13). For Crew, they could get something inspired by Project D (of Initial D fame). Not gonna happen because of licensing, but one can dream right? :P

The community-designed car Akira Nakai will build for SEMA.

Not a fan of the livery to be honest. But it's the NFS community so taste isn't really a strong suit :P

Probably they'll release a Icons DLC pack plus a new map. If they are....I suggest for the Icons DLC:

Style- Ken Nomura, Tanner Foust(known Ford driver so it might be possible since we have Ken Block.) and Nobushige Kumakubo.
Build- Kei Miura
Crew- Team Need For Speed
Speed- Chris Rado
Outlaw- unknown

This game will probably go the Sim City route with poor sales and EA will eventually be forced to release a patch that adds offline support.

I imagine this was done so you can properly stance your car, give it the 'drift stance' (big camber in the front).

Really? This is the Need for Speed! with customisation! and imports! and canyons!, of course it's going to sell well. The general racing fanbase are frankly lap-it-up idiots.

Funny how his VW Bug rallycross supercar is in Forza Horizon, eh.
Well if I remember he was the driver for the commercial for NFS MW 2012 in a Ford Fiesta plus this one:

But yeah looks like outdated but wouldn't mind seeing him in NFS 2015 in Rockstar Energy Drink Fiesta but if anything else fails, Vaughn Gittin is the answer.

Well, he can't... he is a Volkswagen driver, who has already partnered with another video game franchise. And Gittin is in the game, at least in cutscenes (as much as we have seen at this point).

How about Sam Hubinette? He is a Dodge/SRT driver plus a drifter in his Dodge Viper SRT10 or SRT Challenger. Or Mad Mike to keep it Speedhunters related.

Nah. The worst case would be Driveclub like since it has so much anticipation than SimCity and hey, 2 Million copies sold!

I was targeting the corporation aka EA which often times quite detached with what the studio (Ghost Games) actually wanted. I dont want the studio to be bankrupt ever.

Lets hope this corporation changes its minds at the end.

Why are there comments complaining like Need for Speed is the new SimCity or something?

I get the online only dealio, but this is a completely different game with a different style and genre. And hey, who knows? I'm sure if there's enough criticism about that stupid feature, they might make it compatible for offline as well.

Might.

If they did it for The Sims 4, why not this?

Yes, I know it's EA, but you never know.

Also people seem to forgot that an acclaimed game this generation called Destiny is also online only and yet, did you see their sales decreasing? I sure as hell didn't and it's still getting more popular as more updates/expansions are being released.

You beat me to it. Last I heard and I may be incorrect but Destiny has sold around 20 million (based on Activision's statement) and all that tells me is a ton of people are already online.

This online only thing seems to bother those typing on the internet.

There's zero reason to have to rely on an internet connection just to play a part of the game that doesn't require it.

Fortunately I have a great connection, but I feel sorry for those who have poorer set ups or have a data limit.

This is the problem, though. People keep buying it regardless of the fact that they keep making decisions like 'Always Online'. It excludes players unnecessarily. You DO NOT need to go online to complete a single player campaign. That's why the consoles and your PC have hard drives, to save data onto. If I were still living at my old house, for example, I would be completely excluded from playing one of my favourite games just because they want to implement a photo sharing system.

Why should a racing game be hampered because of a photo sharing system? It's crazy.

Do Rockstar still make Rockstar cola ?
