Yes, they randomly drive pass you while you're cruising around.

...this is what kind of annoys me.

The only time I haven't been able to shut down a MW car right after a race was for the Porsche 918 Spyder. I saw it maybe once every 7 minutes; the annoying part was that I would be right on it's trail, only for it to just barely get ahead of me on the mini-map, and then it would disappear...

Pretty much. They didn't bother fixing the input lag and freezing issues in Shift 2.

In no way am I defending EA for their anti-customer-feedback tactics, but the input lag was a problem with the game engine; those problems are the hardest to tackle, so they probably tried to fix it, but gave up after a certain amount of time.

Nope. I'm still waiting since last friday for a response from EA Support to see if the control layout can be fixed :nervous:
Still? I feel sorry for you.

I hope they're on it but my gut tells me otherwise. Not a fan of the SP glitches. I'm crossing my fingers for an inclusion of 'dreamshots'/photomode as well, even if it's as basic as in HP2010.

Wouldn't suprise me :guilty:

I don't mind getting free SP since that doesn't ruin my experience but seriously if on HP2010 they had an option to change the controller layout and then return to default, why the hell don't they have it in this game too? I can still play the game obviously but you have no ideia how annoying it is to use nitrous with the R3 and using the handbrake with R3 up, sometimes while in an event I think that I am using a perfect nitrous and by mistake I use the handbrake making me lose the event.

I find it really weird though that you can't change the layout, at all. I was messing with it just yesterday due to the 'Event of the week' competition, without any issues or bugs occuring. It doesn't seem to be a common one. You're probably the only one I've heard of having this specific problem. Either way, resetting it to the default should've been an option in the first place. Clearly a bad move from Criterion.

Did you tried changing the "cross", "triangle", "square", "circle" buttons? The issue for me is that after changing one of these, for some reason the game doesn't let you add them again. (I even tried this on my secondary account and the same issue occurs).

I changed the triangle button to L3, then back again. No issues, thus far.

Ok but you just swapped the triggers, of course that would be easy to fix. This is what I did initially: I changed R2 to R3 UP and L2 to R3 Down, "cross" to R2 (this was my settings on HP 2010, it was awkward to drive with this because of the cameras moving at the same time it gave a wierd feeling, then it's difficult to compare how much you have to brake with R2 and R3 Down). After that I changed to the original buttons but when I reached the nitrous I couldn't add the "cross" button so I had no choice than to use other button, R3 it is. :grumpy:

I forgot to mention that I messed with R3 and the other buttons besides 'triangle' as well. My bad. However, not as extensively as you seem to have done. Still no excuse why you shouldn't be able to change the layout as you please.

Well I thought about deleting my save file, I know that I am going to lose hundreds of hours that I have on single player but what about multiplayer? You really think my SP and the rest of cars, mods, license plates are stored on online servers? EA isn't that smart.

There's no such thing as online records with these games. Progress is all game memory, even with online. The only thing that's online is the latest (and probably the highest scored) save on speed records on Autolog. Once autolog documents that, you can go offline, set a faster time, Autolog won't know until you sign in the next time. Not sure what happens if you delete your memory; either all progress will e lost because it syncs records from your game save (most likely the case IMO) or it will remember only the best records you set- the only memory Autolog bothers keeping.

If I were you, I'd rather wait for a patch, wicken.
Yeah that is what I am going to do since I can still play the game from an awkward way but I just hope that EA Support does something to help or release a patch (It's been 1 month since today and we haven't heard anything from Criterion).

The amount of time you have put into this game is just not worth loosing for that annoying and worthless bug. I just hope the patch comes very, very soon. As well as offering a stable online experience. I'm still having trouble with the connection.

You got that right, my only issue with the game is the game instability after I activated concours and the usual disappearing textures (oh and I must not forget the controller layout issue lol).

More games should do what COD does & save 99% of all MP stuff on the server. With COD I can sign onto my friends console & play with all my stats & classes . No save required.

On BF3 it's pretty much the same thing, the only think that is removed is just your single player progress.

Most games don't have the kind of money to spend on thousands of memory banks and servers like CoD does.

COD doesn't have dedicated servers like MW does. They just have servers to save player info that's it & that doesn't take up as much space as people think. MW syncing traffic online takes up more server power then COD's online.
