I kinda like the idea and the graphics are the best I've seen in an NFS title. But I love how you switch cars. You crashed? Well, don't just sit there, idiot, get out of the car, and find another one.

Upon seeing the gameplay video interludes posted, I, ummmmmm....

... thought that the game would be an absolute thrill to play.

I noticed though starting at 3:57 or so, the cop car doesn't do barrel rolls realistically. I mean, it just bounces then gets to the ground right away, instead of rolling, rolling and rolling. Pretty awkward.

Or were the animations fast-forwarded a bit?

I have retract myself from previous comments about this game,it does actually looks better than HP and for me looks like a well awaited sequel to NFS underground,I don't mean that because of the tuning stuff,I mean it because of the illegal racing at midnight which was some of the strongest point of NFS back at the day.

Those cinematics might look silly, but by just looking at the gamplay you know that more realistic physics are involved(understeer in both the police car and the cobra),I'm really looking forward for this game now, also to see what FB2 engine is capable of.

I love that the player actually has an identity, and you can see his face. I think that the last time you could actually see a driver's face was in the Porsche Carrera GT in HP2 (the only convertable, iirc). It gives the game more action, I think. Instead of all this stuff happening to a player, it happens to a person.

Although I would like a bit of free roam :P

Wow I thought I was watching an action movie but still it is a good idea to have a game like that. But I wonder if there will be tuning and stuff like we had in previous NFS games or is it just chasing and escaping.

Although I would like a bit of free roam :P
Forget free roam - I'd like to know that the sequences where the character runs through the city are directly controlled by the player, rather than just the quick-time events.

And it would also be pretty cool if you could pick your own way through the city. Sure, direct the player to scripted events - like the train accident - but don't just point out the directions.

I wanna know if we get to pick the gender of our racer and if we get to design how our character looks, is the guy in the trailers us.

It may be that there are several characters to choose from, each with a different story explaining how they came to be in the race. But if you choose your appearance and gender, you'll likely just play the one story. I'd much rather the first option.

It will most likely be just QTE's outside of the car. I dont mind that as long as they are relatively varied to watch and experiance. This is shaping up to be a spectacular epic game. On my list to watch for sure.

Just saw a video at Game Trailers (don't have a link, sorry) where they interviewed Jason DeLong from Black Box. It's looking like "Jack" is the only playable character in the game, and there was no mention of any kind of character customisation.

Is this the first-ever time out-the-car action will take place in NFS history? As much as I've been disappointed with NFS since going to Hollywood-style theatrics and illegal street racing, I must admit- this new direction adds some unusual character to racing games in general. Having something like this adds some new parallels to racing. Going from racing to out-of-car action is what you may expect from a Grand Theft Auto game. To see it in a Need for Speed title, though, adds a new wrinkle to the action. The fight with cops would be an unusual twist even if this was introduced back in "Need for Speed 3: Hot Pursuit." I admit that I'm too much a racing game purist that I easily cringe over stuff like this for a franchise like NFS.

Regardless, this may be the most exciting NFS action ever.

It would be better if the damage was better. I seem to a couple games like Hard Trucks 2, where the helicopter would shoot ya, and the truck would actually sustain some badass damage. Here...it seems as though your car is bulletproof.

wonder how many cars you can use and if you can pick and choose wich ones I personally like that silver and white GT500 on the cover

This game looked interresting UNTIL I saw the QTE's. Seriously? QTE's in a RACING game. 👎
Oh god, they're giving it back to Black Box & here comes the silly storylines....
Yup you nailed that one and to make it worse, QTE's. 👎

Personally its a welcome addition to me. Im gonna go into this looking it as an action game, like Fast and Furious. How much racing took place in them films? I mean yeah, QTE's, not what some would call hardcore, but cinematic and fun? Definatley.

not sure if this is a day one purchase I already am having trouble figuring out what 3 games im gonna get ( resistance 3, Battlefield 3, Modern warfare 3, Uncharted 3, King of fighters 13

Well from the first trailer it seems like an action racing game. I'm ok with that, they aren't just recycling the tired gameplay of Most Wanted,Carbon and Undercover.

Good comment, I have to agree on this.

Don't really know what to say about what I've seen so far of this game.

The gameplay (actual racing) looks good and fun. The out of car stuff is kinda...'meh'.

I feel as if Black Box are trying to do too much. I'd rather just have a simple NFS with street racing. Basically, Underground 3... I'm also kinda getting bored of all the cop stuff. Oh no, another 🤬 cop chase.

actually no there not recycling that it looks more like a better engined version of Hot pursuit but probally more expansive due to the Frostbite engine I have decided to preorder it and took a couple of games off mylist ( no more battlefield 3 or resistance 3 )

Aka. Recycling

Looked into this game a little further.

It seems like it's going to be composed of point-to-point races... if we have autolog to compare times, then it's obviously going to be that.

Demo's out in just over a week, preordering get you 3 cars.

current car roster
I REALLY like how they picked fro ma wider selection of cars especially how they picked pre-2000 cars like the '71 Challenger, R32 and FD..

I'm guessing you have to pick one??

Actually the wording may have just confused me... When you purchase the Limited Edition...

Your Limited Edition Arsenal
The cops will see you in the Lamborghini Aventador, but will it matter? Open up this 700hp untamed beast on the highway and you’ll see the fear in your rival’s eyes. The Run across the U.S. wouldn’t be complete without the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. When your life is on the line the Camaro will be bullied by no one. Finally, who wouldn’t want to drive the most highly anticipated car of 2011? The new Porsche 911 Carrera S and its raw power and pin point handling are exclusive to Need for Speed The Run.

Your Limited Edition Events
Now that you have your elite cars, five exclusive racing events will put them to the test. The Limited Edition serves up fresh content, new opportunities to battle your friends on Autolog, and the chance to master your driving skills while earning bonus rewards and achievements.

And those packs are just addons... So I'd get the MW pack with the Limited Edition, and I'm assuming you can only get those packs from preordering.. though I'm willing to bet they'll dish those 3 packs out in the store a month after release...

So in other words, preorder the game... It's probably at the same price as a regular copy, AND you have until release date to do so, so give the demo a try next week.
