I need help idk y but almost always wen I'm racing my rx7 other people rape me off the line
Welcome to the forum. I know you're new, but please try to use proper grammar when posting or requesting help as it makes it easier to understand what you're saying. If you set your e-brake to a thumbstick up or down, it will help you release the brake faster. Also, use a long enough transmission so you're not hitting the rev-limiter on the car as that will also slow you down. There are a few guides on here, one written by myself as well as others, that can help explain general tuning methods to improve the speed of your car while drag racing.

This Thread is for the discussion of 1/4mi. Tuning and Tips/Tricks of 1/4 mi. Tuning.
This Thread is not about just asking for a Tune, but the willingness to learn.

First and foremost, please read this first: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/1-4-mile-transmission-guide-for-dummies-illustrated.294981/ before asking about Transmissions.:D

Please feel free, to ask questions and/or make comments about your observations in Drag Racing.

Even though, we don't like to give out Tunes, some members may decide to give out a Base Tune(not a perfect Tune, but shows you the right direction to Tune your car.)

If you still have problems figuring out your/how to Tune, please provide your Tune, so we can see where you have the settings wrong and tell you how to fix it.

We will not give specific numbers or Full Tunes, so don't bother asking.
If you do receive a Base Tune, don't cry that its not the best, ask for help on how to deal, with whatever problems you are experiencing in the Base Tune.

As we learn more Tips and Tricks, I will create a list of them.

Also I will create a list of Base Tunes that have been supplied in this Thread.
I will test the Base Tunes to make sure they are not literally a BaSe(did ya catch that?) tune. As to not waste my time, making links to bad Base Tunes.(even though I might waste my time testing some):indiff:

Tips and Tricks:
  • CH-SH Tires, on non driven wheels.(Depends on drive-train)
  • No Flat Floors.(A upgrade in the Custom Parts options)
  • Raked suspensions, are not the best option, for all drive-trains.

As usual, any help with ideas, etc.. for this Thread are welcome.

New people and Trolls, do not flood this Thread with requests for Tunes!!:mischievous:

Also lets keep this civil so it gets stickied and not locked.
ArticTrust has a good base tune for the Audi R8. Not shure if you will add it because mrangrybirdz already has one up. Just letting you know.

I say, CH/RS. I mainly use SH on FWD cause its impossible to keep in a line with CH's.

Damn, assumed you Honda boys would have figured out how to run CH's by now.:ouch:
If you've ever tried racing circuit, you'd know about these thing called anti rolls bars. :sly:
Set them both to max and you will find those little ricers drive a heck of a lot straighter.... Applies to muscle as well.

Thats my tip for the day. lol.

Happy tuning everyone!

Your right. But I dont know if you drive with a wheel, but the center dead zone, can create a sway that can not be caught with CH's.

*insert use a pad quote here*

I'll save you guys time arguing - CH tires haven't worked since 1.05. Put on RS/RS and work on your transmission.

They may not give any additional pull like they used to, but they are still far more user friendly for a lot of cars.
On a select few cars the CH tyres seemingly give a slightly better rpm drop between shifts, which could possibly give a car a touch more pull.
But without a speed test, one simply can't be 100% certain that it equates to anything noticeably different online.

The cars that benefited the most from CH were muscle cars, and since 1.05 they have lost significant grip because of it. Also cars that required CH to wheelie no longer do, but cars that could wheelie with RS before 1.05 still wheelie now. They will now be in the realm of front wheel camber in the "speculation" tuning category as there is no longer any proof they make the car faster.

What do you mean by, racked suspension mate?

I had no idea they were going here lol, thanks @ryzno. I think I'll start making some more base tunes :)
I did it for the people that are still oblivious to the Tunes section. And also to have a one stop shop for tuning. I think the new setup Jordan made, makes it easier to display tunes. I will change the link names to the actual car names sometime today...

Oh lordy, I haven't been on GT6 or here in a very long time. I'm pretty sure I will be the slowest person in the whole community which is why I am posting here. I tried racing in single player and I didn't even get first :banghead::(. So that's a huge sign saying "Don't go online, you will embarrass yourself". Anyways, I'm not really asking for a tune, I just want a person that I can tune off of.

Thanks! :gtpflag:
