2005 MITSUBISHI LANCER EVO VIII FQ-330
ON SALE: Now (in England)
PRICE: $57,300 (est.)
POWERTRAIN: 2.0-liter, 330-hp, 305-lb-ft turbo I4; awd, six-speed manual
0 to 62 MPH: 4.7 seconds (mfr.)

This sould be in the "Cars in general" section

The modifications consist of an aggressively programmed supplementary ECU, plus a revised wastegate actuator, which raises peak boost to 21 psi

I didnt know they ran so much boost stock. My skyline runs 7.5-8psi after 4500rpm and 5psi before 4500rpm (stock boost).

Skylines turbos use ceramic exhaust wheels, so even with a front mount the boost shouldnt be raised anymore that 14psi, but stock the factory put it upto 8psi.

The EVO's have gear controlled boost levels. Not each gear is at full 19 psi. 1st gear is the only gear that peaks at 19 psi, each gear after it lowers, such as 2nd is 17-18, and 3rd is around 16 pounds. This gives the EVO quick accel with a slow top end.. Which is the united states way of saying "Im a *****". No doubt the 4G63 can take the boost levels, I run 23 pounds of boost in my stock 4G63, My brother runs 27 psi on 9.5:1 pistons in his 4G63. They are great engines.

Kinda sad that it's only making 330hp at 21psi though. Just my 2 cents...
SR20VET makes 270hp at 7psi.

just my third cent here...The FQ330 isn't that amazing considering the rediculous amounts of $ you must spend...but anyway The SR20DET's valve train was crap enough as it is, messing with the valve timing is only leading to the enevitable screw up...

and remember 4g63's are enticing....Sr20's are not.

No, the £32000 is for the Evo VIII
OOhhhh. ok.
yeah, i guess the guy that started this thread said something like, 52,000 pounds, and i was like, whooa. thats the most any evo has cost i think.
that makes more sense, being 32000.

Chevrolet, of course, having pulled out of the UK three years ago. Frankly, since they were only selling 2 cars a year, they aren't missed.

Top Gear list Evo prices at:
Evolution VIII - £26,995
Evolution VIII FQ-300 - £28,995
Evolution VIII FQ-330 - £31,999

Comparing an Evo to a Corvette is like comparing a live chicken to the geology of Brazil.

They do not list the FQ-330.
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII FQ330 - £31,999. Found in Car.

I got HER to fetch the current TG from downstairs and edited... :D
