Hello everybody,

Long time lurker, first time poster here. I've been drifting in GT4 on and off for 2 years, although I'm still not very good at it. I prefer lower powered (up to 300HP) cars with slightly "drifty" handling and I usually tune them in a way that a real street car would be tuned (i.e. N3 tires all-round, no extreme stuff like lightening, chassis stiffening, etc.). As a result, the cars I drift are not specifically drift machines. I also like to drift stock cars in arcade mode.
I hope to find like-minded people to share some tips on drifting near-stock cars.
Cheers.

iv been drifting for about 2weeks i started with a 200sx and now im using a r32 :)

Hi everyone!
I use to love GT 1 & 2 on PS but went to the dark side XBOX and never had GT3. I purchased GT4 about 1 year ago and a PS2. I lost interest in GT4 about 6 months ago but I come to realise there were a few D1 cars in GT4 and then saw some drift videos on you tube and thus the reason I am here!
Now that I've found Drifting Its become like a whole new game. I must say its a lot harder than in real life the drifts are the same but a controller is nothing like the car. I'm currently in the market for a DFP as I think that would be much easier than the controller for me. I'll be buying a PS3 upon release of GT5.

In real life a drive a Ford Falcon xr8 ute making 280kw and 550nm of torque or 375hp and 405 ft/lbs of torque which gets sideways quite nicely.

Positive Lock is just saying hi to you from Delphic Reason's living room. No, really.... I am sitting in front of Delphic Reason's Television, drinking a Mcewans (very good brew, if you've not been introduced). I'm very excited for GT5:Prologue, and I hope to be drifting with some of you in the future.

Drift on...

Actually, he really is sitting in my living room....

He is also drinking a Mcewans (very good brew, indeed. If you're 21 that is)

That is all.

Have a good night, GTP.

Yeah, GTP will do that to you. Welcome, and enjoy your stay. Speaking from experience, this place will get you from novice, to pretty darn good, if not very great.

Heya, I just started drifting. I am starting to read the guides as well :sly: I dont think I am doing too bad but I am thinking about putting a video onto youtube of my drifting to see what people think. Is it a good idea?

Cheers,
Paul 👍

I'm back now after a little absence and I am still working on the "twitchy thumb". I am in the middle of a drift then my thumb twitches and i go into a wall or opponents. I think I need a new controller or a wheel

Go for it Paul. I'll be sure to watch if you do, and give you a few pointers.
Drifting's fun. Especially when you get the hang of it.
