ummm Hi. I just Re-bought the game because i found out you could drift in it. I deleted my old save a while back so i have to start all over again but i'm excited to try this out hopefully i can get good at it. But one new thing i now have to learn or do in order to drift is dive with manual i always drove auto in the game before. So yea :)

Heyy guys,
Im the R35 SLIDER anyway if you would like some help with drifting PM me

P.S i found the easiest way to practice my drift techniques was to buy the Mines R34 and use it in arcade mode with Racing Hards.
or buy the Toyota Sprinter S.S version and use it in GT Mode its a good drifter at all speeds

I used the Amuse S2000 or my FC to practice my techniques.

Hi Everyone:)

I have been drifting a while when I was not a nember on GTPlanet forums,

I can drift but give me a few laps so I get used to the car and then I drift quite good :)

Hii there , im oukil =) . played GT 2 , 3 and im 53% done with 4 my favs tracks in the game ; fuji speedway , tsukuba circuit , Nürburgring. im starting to drift in GT4 my favs cars to drift are Honda NSX Type S and the HPA Motorsports VW R32

Hey, I joined up last week and I've only just been able to post on this forum. I've been reading about drifting on GT4 and thought I'd give it a go. Although, I'm finding it a little bit harder than I thought. I'm currently sliding my red Nissan Silvia K's S13 1991 around Deep Forest. I find the long open corners help me learn the correct drfiting line. My Silvia is a stock Silvia, and was the first car I bought on GT4, I've given it some new wheels, a sports flywheel and a port polish, bringing the power up to 212BHP. I know that the FR layout is perfect for drifting but I was kinda hoping that you guys could give me some pointers on successful drifting., because when I try and exit the drift, the steering "snaps" and I spin out.

Here's a pic of my car too. Although nothing 4dirtywheels' Impreza of course!

New member, been lurking since around the release of GT4 and playing since GT2. I had worked on drifting with the DS2 somewhat, but I was really holding off to really figure it out until I got a nice wheel.

Well, I just got my hands on a DFGT yesterday (simple cockpit in progress as we speak) and I'm finally ready to start working on drifting. While I was waiting for my wheel I had started working with the amuse stook, and was starting to sort of figure stuff out a little. It seems like I'm back to square one with the wheel though x.x

Really need to get used to how much I need to be throwing the wheel around, I feel like I just keep going from undercontrolling to overcontrolling...also need to get used to the noises this thing makes. I get a little scared when I crank it real fast :(

Is there any official IRC channel or anything? It'd be cool to be able to talk directly to some of you guys that really have this stuff dialed.

Nice Cars 4dirtywheels and sidewayscarlton and sidewayscarlton I like the angle you did:):)

hey guys i've been gt4'n since it came out. been on here kinda a ghost but plan on being active for a sec (going into basic and tech school on the 13th of Jan...)
GT Background:
i've been playing since the first game. played gt2 for a WAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY long time. even on m ps2. never owned 3. but bought 4 the day it came out. i'm new to the 'drift scene' in the game. i was doing some online time attack competitions on the subaru forums... i came in second. one second behind (my choise of car for that was the sileighty,or the jgtc subaru bugeye i think '01). so far i drift i'd say i'm mastering the AWD drift. like in real life i prefer that list of cars (i drive a modded 03 wrx). i'm done with all the races except the company specific ones which i only have france left i think. couple more endurance to go... i forgot about those :(. but as far as the drift, my weapon of choice is a slammed '96 subaru legacy touring wagon, white on green rims :D
anywho. WHAT UP!

hi people dont know if anyone drift's on GT4 anymore but i've just started again,i did one thing i thought i wouldnt do the first time round i.e. quit trying.but i had a xbox and a ps2 i thought it was so hard to drift on GT4 i gave up,started on Forza motorsport i played online iam actually well known for drifting on it like you guys have sheron etc..i won alot of battles driven numerous cars,it was a big laugh all for one thing drifting, respect and fun.my tag was S15 Drift Jcs and the team i was associated with was the infamous TEIN and Blackjack.then i got a xbox 360 and did the exact same on there so i basically stuck to the xbox all-in-all for 3 years.but im going back to my routes i started on GT2 so i played and got as far as i could with my drifting on the motorland track mostly, then i popped my gt3 disc in and i watched a few of my replays from 2002 february til 2005 december got the knack for it again and my most recent thing i did was last week,i did alot of things in that game from drifting always low-powered to high-powered and to race type cars and different drivetrains.now im starting all over with gt4 again! all because of the famous snapback i quit but for that i have one person to thank boundary layer for throwing up a user friendly setup and ive actually seen the light with the drifting on the game i have begun to master it just yet its been 5 days :) so thank you boundary layer. jason

hey guys, my first post!
haha. but i've been into cars, all cars, for about two years now, only a few months ago found out about the awesomeness that is GT. i played GT2 for a few months before i found out my friend had GT4, and since then the past few months have been a blur. i'm getting pretty damn good at drifting, i like sliding around in my RUF the most, but some of you might think it's too easy since it's RR. i have a 96 240sx i drift in too..but not as well. haha. i hope i'll be on these forums for alot longer.

hey everyone
i'm a rookie to the world of drifting, so fill me in

hey guys, im TNT_Rob, im new at gt4 drifting but drifting is my life in real and in the game

What is the aversion to capital letters and grammar in the drifting world? :boggled:

Almost all of you have used them in some way in your posts, and yet you can't seen to use them where required.

Just thought a quick reminder of our AUP rules on grammar might be required here, looking at the 5 posts above.

GTPlanet AUP
*No slang words that promote laziness, ie; “r”, “u”, “plz”, etc. will be tolerated. Decent grammar is expected, including proper usage of capital letters. Repeated violations will be grounds for suspension and/or permanent removal from the forums.*

Please remember "I" should be capitalised, as should the word beginning every sentence. "im", "id" and "ill" (unless you're poorly :p) are unacceptable in place of "I'm", "I'd" & "I'll" respectively.

Heed the warning in the quote. 👍

hi, my name is Kiron been playing GT4 for a while and found about GTplanet from a friend. 16 years old and i love music along with cars and drifting. i own a BMW E36 and trying to get my drivers license

Welcome to :gtplanet: DorikunWarrior, but please read the post 2 above your carefully before you post again. If you can type BMW, you can type "I" rather than "i"! ;)

hey. im sid and i just started to drift this morning.... so i am rubish. i will get better and may post a vid or 2 wen i get betta

sidmtber;
Welcome to the Planet. Please read our AUP again and take on board the requirement for posting here.

Also, if you read the few posts above this one, you will see that another moderator has already attempted to address this problem, but it appears that you ignored it totally.

Please edit your post so that it's in line with the AUP.

Thanks

Hey I'm Calvin and I'm new here. I just started to learn to drift in the game. It's hard but I'm slowly getting the hang of it. These forums are a great resource and I appreciate all the help. In the game I use an RX-8 because I am most comfortable with it. In real life I drive a Hyundai.

Hey all you drift kings out there.I'm Carlos and since I saw drifting from the game on youtube I've been hooked on it ever since.Though I'm a rookie at this practice makes perfect.Been doing this for a month and only tried it with two cars. The Lexas s14 was the fisrt one and was very fustrating to handle. So I went to a 99 Nissan Skyline GT-R M.P.II used.(The most easiest car to work with for a rookie) I love taking a few laps around Trail Moutain then watching it on the replay. If you can do it right it looks absolutley stunning. Some time this weekend I will have more photos of cars in my album perferbly (drifting skyline) through many trees and tight corners. If I could upload the video I Would but until that time, This is Hotshot44 saying enjoy the photos.....

Hey guys, I've been lurking here for a while and just decided recently to create an account. I've been drifting for a couple months now, and I've developed a preference for tuning unconventional drift cars (I think?), like the Honda Beat and BMW 120d. I look foward to learning from the pros while GT4 still has some life in it :D. My favorite drift track is Trial Mountain, and I like the epic pictures that can be taken in SSR5. I've also aspired to drift on Laguna Seca.
