Another porsche. Awesome....they need to change things up a bit. It's so bland and really isn't new.

It's the newest its been in quite a while. The wheel base makes it look longer, getting rid of that bubble VW bug look.

The wheelbase is longer, the headlamps are more stretched, new bumper, same styled roofline but the rear taillights are longer and thinner. If you can't see any new you're not trying hard enough!

Well, sure, but you can find all those "new" features on other Porsche's...

New Porsche?

Don't get me wrong, they look great as the are, but I'd kind of like to see something with a more retro approach, kind of like how Ford did with the Mustang, but keeping everything modernized.

Like the Singer Porsche 911?

Yep. Barely.
The entire chassis is completely new. Where have you been for the past year of 991 news updates?

Also, stop removing post links from your quotes. Why you guys makes quotes the hard way I have no idea.

This. The 991's now also include electric power steering, electro-hydraulic anti-roll system, and a seven speed gearbox.

But yeah, new chassis and entirely new body panels. That's barely a face-lift

It's impossible to take the people who whine about nothing being "new" seriously. The car looks similar on the exterior. This does not mean that Porsche has not changed and redesigned.

It's odd how nobody ever mentions that chevy has been as similarly 'lazy' with the Corvettes design since 1968.

Yeah those look identical.

He didn't say they look 'identical' but 'lazy' in designing. Excluding the C1, the C2 and C3 has had minor changes between them while they took a massive change for the C4, but then nothing much has changed between them up to the current C6.

Good, they should keep it that way.

Each Corvette has been thoroughly modern looking when it debuted. I don't really consider that being lazy.

I was just pointing out that during the time frame mentioned the Corvette's design changed most drastically.

IMO

Yes, but on each new model they ARE styled differently - there's no denying, if you can't see it, again - you're not looking hard enough.

The fact that the general shape resembles all other 911s (it's like a tradition) gives the car identity and that appeals to many Porsche fans.

Ever since the late 60's, the car has been redesigned and re-engineered to keep it looking contemporary and be technically up to date, whilst keeping a familiar and commercially successful shape. This overall shape is largely dictated by its chassis layout and its interior requirements. Certain exterior styling clues have been retained throughout the years to maintain a strong brand identity which has undoubtedly helped keep a loyal legion of followers and owners who wouldn't think of championing anything else.

Am i talking about the Corvette or the 911?

This is brilliant. I'm going to quote this often. 👍

Well definitely at least the 911. Porsche owners are extremely loyal to the brand and the majority of them own multiple Porsches.

I can't say I find it a great looking car, but that's because I have a bias for older cars.

But I haven driven a couple of 911's, including a 996 GT3, and all I can say to those whining and pissing about Porsche. Go drive one, doesn't have to be to the max, but just drive one. You will see why it is one of the best cars in production.

This.

I love my mustang but when it comes to performance, efficiency, and luxury you can't beat it. Even a Cayman is an amazing machine.

I don't know. Corvette owners can be pretty loyal, too. They're probably the only guys I've seen who go to car shows wearing a full outfit of Corvette hats, shirts, & leather jackets, besides Ferrari owners (though those are usually new owners).

The most brand-loyal people I've seen in my life are Corvette and Ferrari owners. Porsche and BMW are similar in the fact that some owners are hardcore club members but most are just regular people who either wanted a Porsche or a BMW.

Somehow I'm left cold by the new GT3's design. It does nothing for me. I bet it's epic to drive, though.

Some people just like to bash said cars, if it's for a joke then I understand, but outright thinking that the car isn't new...that's annoying to say the least. I'm glad a few people are saying the correct info. I haven't found a price tag for the GT3 has anyone seen anything yet? I could only find the Turbo.
