OK, perhaps Im not making myself understood well enough.
I have an XBOX and a PSTwo and a PC. I always put playability before graphics. GT4 is an extremely beautiful game. Enthusia has better looking cars but worse tracks. Forza Motorsport has better cars and tracks but the lighting is wrong. HOWEVER. Both Enthusia and Forza Bring something new, something that enriches the gaming experience. GT4 is same as GT just much, much better graphics. Even worse, its actually less than GT in terms of playability due to the lack of multiplayer features. Sorry to say, but its not enough.
Now I could race in a stunning looking car on a stunning looking track. But with s**t AI my experience and the replay wont cut it. How about 2 player? Well I can buy any car I want, increase its performance in every aspect, tune it to my style of driving. BUT I cant race it against my friends prodigy like I use to. Even if I could I cant save a memorable race replay for posterity.
How about having my car in the game? Well I have a classic BMW E30 hybrid in the shape that is still called the best looking BMW of all time. ITS NOT IN GT4. Its in Enthusia with its 250 cars and GT4 with 750+ car doesnt have it.
Make the game challenging for me then. DAMAGE. Simulated, I go on track, abuse the car, hit other cars, loose control, Ill pay for it dearly, I could even loose my car. OK not visual damage I understand, but at least simulated, just icons and numbers. NO? Cant have that either.
Photo Mode and B-Spec, sorry not enough, nowhere nearly enough to make me think GT4 is this incredible improvement on previous GT3 and this masterpiece youre all talking about. Not even going to mention ONLINE and those almost real replays where you see stupid ******g 2D cardboard or 3D spectators that did nothing for nobody in the first place.
Im looking for FEATURES to improve my virtual driving experience by myself and with friends. Compared to GT3, GT4 is very much the same, if not worse due to lacking my multiplayer options/features.
Of course this is my take on it, but its honest and heartfelt
