Hey Guys,
there are no seasonal events online yet. What do u think, is there a new patch coming? Maybe some DLCs?? It's time for it...

I'm not saying no update in the near future. PD did say they would try for monthly updates. I just don't think the delay in seasonals has anything to do with it though. More likely the Super GT WAS this weeks update, a little early, and like they did with the rest of the world when our PS Stores came back up, all non-essential personnel (PD) are just leaving the PSN alone so that Sony can get the Japan PS Store up and running without extra network traffic. I know, the store isn't a required part of updates/seasonals, but there are some overlaps being they are all parts of PSN. Give it a day or two and we'll see if there's another update like with 1.10, but frankly I wouldn't be surprised if the next seasonals don't come untill next week.

This! 👍
We got two "batches" of seasonals last week, likely situation is that the SuperGT seasonal was intended for this week and was released early for reasons known only to PD staff! Don't hold your breath, but an update should be on the way soon too!

Cheers, Xerx :)

But what about time and drift trials? There aren't even any that are open right now. I'm going to be pretty disappointed if we at least don't get those today.

What are you on about? I'm talking about time and drift trials, not new events.

Sounds like your doing 2+2=5. Theres no indication of updates or DLC at all.

A new TT would be nice though.

They're not late yet are they? PD stated back when they started doing the seasonals that they would be updated every thursday + or - a day so by my reckoning they've still got until tomorrow.

Off the top of my head they've brought two weeks out on the wednesday then two last week so we've been a bit spoiled lately, along with the triple rewards we've been getting, with PD's serious lack of telling us what they're up to I'm guessing it's either to make up for the PSN downtime or they're keeping us interested while they work on the next update, all just guesswork on my part though.

Don't panic, I'm sure something's planned for this week as far as the seasonals go.

I love new seasonals, but the game desperately needs new A-spec content and ai improvements. Amazing in this day and age GT5 has yet to have any DLC. Can't complain about free seasonals every week though.

Bring proof next time you name your thread as such. You got me all excited. :irked:

yeah sorry dude, i am just hoping for some dlc, i mean gt5 is out for 9 month and there is no dlc yet, that sucks. today there had to come new TTs or SEs, so i hope something big is coming up in the next days!

New seasonals and an OCD refresh. I doubt any DLC will be available soon. Updates maybe within a month. :)

The seasonal events ARE A-spec content. Sadly, it's just the same rehashed crap.

What they need to do is release lots of time trial and drift trial events, and get the online leaderboards up.

Of course... all this speculation and guessing could be avoided if PD would just communicate with the outside world.

Disagree, A-spec is shallow, why not manufacturer events? Events with more restrictions but not insanely difficult? They have not even touched the surface of what a-spec can be.

Yes it would be nice. Even better one where now one could glitch or use the power limiter.

For the people who want "just" a Time Trial -- I imagine TTs are actually much harder to put together than regular SEs. For a typical SE they can just pick a car type/theme and a few tracks, then set a PP limit and some prizes - done. There's a little tweaking of the initial gap to the leaders, but most of the competitiveness is ensured w/ the PP limit.

The Time Trials must involve some real thought about how to set the "right" medal times. That involves really figuring out what's challenging about a particular track, and which car setup highlights those challenges, including how different combinations of tires and power levels change the "character" of the event. Finally, they have to make sure there are no "cheats" -- short cuts, "ringer" cars, etc. Look at the trouble they had setting up time trials with the US GT Academy, and the most recent Ring TT. Even with the Indy TT, it only took about an hour for people to discover the NSX and R390 "Road Cars" -- without those two cars, Indy would have been a pretty seriously challenging TT for the average player...and that's probably what they intended!

Agreed. Hey, if GT5 offers DLC I'll probably buy it, but for the dollar, GT5 already had tremendous content. I've never played a racing game that was such a great bang for the buck. It's awesome. It's not perfect. There are, of course, many flaws in GT5, but I don't really give a crap. I only paid $50 for the game, and it has 1000 cars, many of which look and sound and drive very nicely. It has dozens of tracks, and the seasonals have kept the game fresh.

If you hate this game, by all means, play a different one. No one is stopping you. GT5 might get some DLC, but it will not be changing. Do you think GT5 cares that the reviewers panned it as not changed enough from GT4? They don't care! GT is GT to them. They made the product they wanted to make, sold tens of millions of copies, and aren't going to revolutionize it.

Fortunately, I can play other games too.

You guys know that there's the possibility that there will be NO DLC for GT5, right?

Technically speaking there has been DLC since launch day on GT5. It's just not everyone's been able to get them. The Stealth Models, the Chrome Lines, the Gamestop NASCAR and the Camaro Edge Special are all DLCs, but not everyone's been able to get them.

i like where they're going with the weekly or bi-weekly releases. . .they are totally A-spec and allow the casual player to step up their A-game (literally)...I've been grinding the ferrari event with my Scudiera and loving it, so happy with it...

I only have the enduro's, FGT, and Nascar A-spec events to complete, but I'm leaving that for a long-vacation or something...

To be fair PD are busy moving offices to a different city, still recovering from earthquake related stuff unfortunately.

You disagree?

I'm saying the same thing. A-spec, and the A-spec seasonals as well, are shallow and repetitive. The events are all the same thing over again.

Since they don't seem to be taking the opportunity to actually add anything interesting to this part of the game, it makes sense that they should focus on the parts of the game that can be made interesting just because they offer good competition.

They've proven that good A-spec competition can't be achieved in the game. The "expert" seasonal races aren't even good competition, they're just handicapped by giving the AI a huge headstart.

The seasonals are probably only a few kb in size, all that needs to be set is some text and parameters such as PP, HP, weight, country restrictions, then typical opponents and prizes. That bit of code could be written in 10minutes by whoever does it in PD.

Then it would be all to easy to set it so the files become available automatically at a certain time. In one day they could schedule a years seasonals to come online and they would just need to keep the server up.

I really dont know why there is no new time trials, but damn its frustrating.
For me time trials are the best aspect of the game.
A-spec sucks, and so do the seasonals except for the expert challenge and TT and drift trials.

If they release some DLC I hope its and event creator!!! Make your own events and post them online for anybody to use. With a rating system.

:)When we talk about DLC we have to remember just how long it takes to make one Car or track for GT,if they ever update all the Standard cars to prem & maybe the tracks,I for one could not see this happening before the end of the year.

Sure the Quake must have put somthings back by quite a few months.

I think we will get more updates/patches to improve the game play & to fix things.

From my point of veiw getting all the content up to the same leval would the first one to address before we start thinking about new content.

I think some of the added content we now have would have been in-game from day one had Sony not rushed it out to boost its PS3 sales last year.

In the long term I would like to see added car packs for both old & new Models of cars.

lets say like More Classic Ferraris things like a 250 GT/GTO or Dino a 312 SP maybe PD can get a Porsche license out of VW so we could have a 962 or a 959.

Then a some of the current new cars like the Audi LMP 2011 car & more normal road based stuff.

If we get some DLC I'd love to see them release the new Pagani Huayra and the one off Ferrari P4/5 in both race and road version two amazing looking cars that'd be great fun for the game

Patch? Wasn't there one recently? The helmets.....i highly doubt there will ever be any DLC, updates with new premiums or tracks, but not DLC. That seems too EA-like

The problem is they can add good, different competitive A-spec content, Shift, Forza, insert racing game here already do...... Thats the point. Add better a-spec content, it is easily done.
