New seasonal events look pretty difficult.

The Lotus 111R one on Tsukuba, I think it's harder than the first one with the Fiat 500. Even after running all laps just under 1:04 except the first one, I am still unable to finish first and most of the time I end up behind the leader just by a few tenths of second. By the way, I found that trying to reach a 50:50 weight distribution (I don't remember the exact numbers so that weight remained within 860 Kg) placed too much load on front tires while cornering. A 45:55 weight distribution felt better, while still being more balanced than the stock one.

Got the first two. Will try the Impreza again later, only managed 3rd, so any tuning set-ups will be appreciated.

Paint your car red, change your helmet and race-suits to red ones.

Everyone knows red ones go faster.

I don't like to moan, I very rarely do. But, I hope this is not how all Seasonals will be from now on. I want them hard, in that you need to push to the limit to win, but not hard in that, you need to know the best tuning options.

I have no interest in tuning cars, I like to just jump in and push the thing to the limit. These new seasonals seem to be all about tuning. I wanna collect me some helmets and racesuits, hope they add helmets and racesuits as rewards for A-Spec races :(

The Fiat and the Lotus ones are a piece of cake.
Fiat:
Window Reduction and no power mod.
FC Tranny (Top speed to 160kph and then reduced the final to 156kph)
FC Suspension (Camber 2.5/2.0 Toe -0.25/-0.20 lowered the car a bit / stiffen the springs a bit / rebound 9 bound 4 (both axels))
LSD (5/10/5)
=> consistant 2:03.6xx´s => went first at the curve before final Chicane (last Lap)

Lotus:
Motor stage 1 and 2 (probably the "non cheapest" way to get 3kw of power xD)
FC Tranny
FC Suspension
LSD (18/28/11)
=> consstant 1:03-1:02´s => first last Lap at the "Dunlop"-Curve (3rd turn)

But the Subaru one is super tough !!
3rd is all I can get.
Tips for that are welcome.

The reason I am not winning on the Lotus race is that I run laps in 1:03 high, never below. I wonder where I could find room for improvement.

Hi guys, I`m just happy to have been able to win the first seasonal race with the Fiat! I`m all sweaty but proud of myself, cause I did it using my own settings and tuning (and a lot of ice tea:dopey:).
Contrary to popular belief, that you need only 2:03 laps my lap times were not all in the 2:03 interval, I had some 2:04 but the first lap I churned 2:07 from that poor little thing.
I got to the first place car right after the left hander leading to the last chicane, drafted him a bit then I left him admiring the smoke.
The setup I used was determined by experimenting with settings and tuning parts one step at a time. Here`s what I used:
- sports intake manifold for greater acceleration
- sports air filter
- 5 speed close-ratio transmission
- twin-plate clutch
- semi-racing flywheel
- window weight reduction
- rear wing left to default aerodynamics
All this got me to 67 hp, which I had to lower to 65. It was very entertaining and I suggest to all to keep trying, you will get there:tup:
Now to see what car pops out of the tycket:nervous:
It turns out I got a Ford GT LM Race Car....oh well, just my luck, couldn`t have been a Premium grrr

loving the new seasonals, only tried the elise sofar but the difficulty was spot on, not so hard that you need to go into settings to change something, but hard enough to make it a challenge if you only throw on some parts.

And for the people complaining that these are too hard, there are now drift and time trials that are easy and pay off well.

It's hard to believe that this is made by the same people who designed the original events... much better than the awfully slow AI.

Fiat and Elise took quite few of my effort (I won it after 3 or 4 attempts), but the trickiest was, yeah, as y'all agree, the STi. Here are some of my humble opinion, just in case you find it useful.

-Do turn off all the driver aids incl. TCS and ASM as it holds you back from taking full control of the car. Use key config to set the button in so-called "NFS-layout" (L2 trigger for brake, R2 trigger for gas) for sensitive accelerator control. Than assign gearshift up/down to △ and 口 respectively. However I won't recommend you to drive for more than 3 consecutive hours in this layout as this can wear out your right hand's finger joints (just as me at this very moment...).

==FIAT 500==
-The point is to maintain the speed w/out braking too much. The complex corners in turn 1-2-3 (L-R-L) will need the engine-brake: turn into 1st corner, shift down from 4th to 3rd when clipping the apex of 2nd corner. The 90deg left-hander before the back stretch (before the long tunnel) also doesn't need any braking, keep the bottom speed above 105kph. Remember to short-cut the final chicane by running over a wide field of gravel before the left-hander (second-to-last corner).

-My tune was: Engine tune Stage 1+ECU+Power limitter, Sports intake manifold, Racing filter, Sports exhaust pipe, Catalytic converter, Adjustable sports suspension kit, Twin-plate clutch, Lightweight St.3+ballasts to meet 1000kg (I didn't adjust the position). I think it's better not to equip lighter flywheel as Trial Mountain has pretty much eevation, but I didn't tried out.

-Here's the setting. Rideheight:F/R Lowest, Spring rate:Slightly higher (I forgot the exact value as i didn't considered much. Move slider to the right for about 5 clicks), Anti-roll bar:F 3/R 3.

-The gap between me and 2nd-running A2 was 1"2 or 1"3, something like that.

==Lotus ELISE==
-Basically this was most enjoyable race for me. It's a pure pleasure to control a extreme lightweight rear-drive car with slightest countersteer and right foot (actually it's right finger). Imagine you're in white overall and wearing Simpson pure-white helmet.

-But do not slide too much as it's a waste of (car's) energy. Tsukuba has 2 major 180-deg turns, named 1st corner and hairpin corner (the one before back stretch). I used "V-line turn" for both of them: brake in a straight-line, turn the head quickly and accelerate away as soon as the car pointed toward exit. The line throughout the corner will show a "V"-figure rather than normal "U"-figure recommended on driving line option. Stomp on accelerator too fast or while the car's rear wheel have lateral G-force remaining will result excessive slide which can reduce the exit speed.

-Here's the tunings. Engine St.1+ECU+Power limitter, Lightweight St.1+Ballast, Sports intake manifold, Racing filter, Semi-racing exhaust pipe, Sports header, Catalytic converter, Full customize suspension, Twin-plate clutch, semi-racing flywheel, rear aero kit (for additional rear-end downforce).

-Settings. Rideheight:F -25/R -25, Spring rate:F 7.0/R 6.0, Damper:4 (All of them), Anti-roll bar:F 3/R 3, Downforce:F 0/R 15.

-The gap between me and second-running Elise was around 0"8 to 1"0 (forgot the exact value, again).

-If you have problems in slide control, try shifting up further one gear on exit of corner.

==Impreza Sedan STi '10==
-For your information, I spent 3 hours on this SINGLE event. It wore off my minds and also my fingers.

-There are shortcuts available in 1st corner and Corkscrew. Too bad I discovered it AFTER I finished all three events.

-I caught the leading purple R34 at the very last corner, bumping my nose into his door and tapped him off the line. Final gap was 0"847.

-Tunings: Engine St.2+ECU+Power limitter, Lightweight St.3, Mid-range turbo (some says low-range will do but I did it this way), Sports intake manifold, Racing filter, Semi-racing exhaust pipe, Sports header, Catalytic converter, LSD Full-customize (but I didn't calibrated any of the value), Twin-plate clutch, Semi-racing flywheel, Carbon propeller shaft.

-Settings. Rideheight F/R -15, Spring rate F 8.5/R 9.0, Dampers F (bound) 8/R (bound) 6/F (rebound) 7/R (rebound) 5, Anti-roll bar F/R 4, Toe angle F -0.20/R -0.25, Camber angle F 0/R -0.10, Brake balance F 2/R 8, Torque splitter F 35/R 65.

-As I wrote above, I didn't even touch the LSD even though I bought the customize kit. The car will surely improve if you calibrate it well.

-In Laguna Seca too, the first corner will require "V-turn" line if you don't prefer shortcutting. Bottom speed will be near 55~65kph.

-I don't think this setup is near-perfect one, because it was still quite difficult to make it clock 1'35" constantly. My lap time was 1'36"9~1'35"8~1'35"7~1'35"5~1'35"8. Basically if you can constantly clock within 1'35"5 than you can win this.

This is just one of referrence you can consider. All the best for you all.

Got the first two. Will try the Impreza again later, only managed 3rd, so any tuning set-ups will be appreciated.

Paint your car red, change your helmet and race-suits to red ones.

Everyone knows red ones go faster.

👍

Can anyone help me set up my elise so it won't slide as bad?

Expert Races are best thing to happen since restrictions were disabled in past Bonus Races.

Thank you very much Polyphony 👍

These new restrictions have definitely brought back the fun factor to Seasonal Events. 👍

Indeed gentlemen, indeed.

But, I hope this is not how all Seasonals will be from now on.(

With all due respect, I disagree with you big time.:)

Really love the restrictions and challenge to these, finished 1st in the Fiat and Lotus ones, but really struggling with INSANE understeer in the Subaru, coming within about 4s of the lead car.

Ok I did the Impreza one now, easiest of the three due to being forced to tune, the first two I did completely stock.

which gear ratios did you use?

I just beat the Trial Mountain event. First try I was 15 seconds off, but adjust my gears a little bit and I was able to win on the second try. Passed the lead car on the second to last turn (downhill left hander).

Lap Times were:
2:08.xx
2:03.6
2:04.1
2:03.4
2:03.1

Prize car (for me) was the Lister Storm Race Car.

Just finished all three seasonals in less than two hours. I have to admit they were very challenging! :) 👍

Fiat 500
Items bought: ECU Tune, Racing Filter, Catalytic Converter, Twin Plate Clutch, Semi-Racing Flywheel, Racing Suspension
Tunes: Reduced rear toe to 0, Added 0.5 camber to all wheels, Limited Engine Power
Summary: Won this on my first try by about 0.5 seconds. Since I did not buy the racing suspension, I probably lost time climbing the hills. I only bumped into two cars at the most and I did not cut the final corner. The key here was to maintain momentum which meant applying as little brake as needed.

Lotus Elise
Items bought: ECU Tune, Racing Filter, Catalytic Converter, Twin Plate Clutch, Semi-Racing Flywheel, Racing Suspension
Tunes: Added 0.05 toe to front wheels, Reduced rear toe to 0.10, Added 0.5 camber to all wheels, Limited Engine Power
Summary: I initially had both front and rear toe to 0 and realized that I had a bit of trouble keeping the Elise in line. Consequently, I had trouble pushing the car to its limit and would up spinning out on the final lap while fighting for 3rd. That's when I started fiddling with the toe and found something that kept the rear from over-rotating on me. After two false starts, I passed 1st place at T8 and won by over a second.

Subaru Impreza
Items bought: ECU Tune, Racing Filter, Catalytic Converter, Twin Plate Clutch, Semi-Racing Flywheel, Racing Suspension, Sports Intake, Sports Exhaust Manifold, Sports Exhaust, Stage 2 Turbo, Stage 3 Weight Reduction
Tunes: Reduced rear toe to 0, Added 0.8 camber to front wheel, Added 0.5 camber to rear wheel, Limited Engine Power
Summary: Oh yeah. Lots of understeer but I was able to manage it well by letting the car roll through the corners without touching the throttle and mashing the throttle once I had the nose correctly pointed. However, the problem is that I kept catching the cars at the worst possible spots and either hit them or took an undesirable line, losing time. I came within 0.200 of beating the leader the first time and had no hesitation of giving the leader a love tap on the final corner the 2nd time.

After I did the first race in the Fiat I got the 1000 ticket. And in it was an M3 GTR Race Car which is in the OCD currently. Irony at its finest.

Have only gotten 3rd in the Fiat race, 4th in the Elise race and 5th in the Impreza race.

The Subaru race is kicking my butt. I completed the Lotus race ok, but it took of few restarts. Haven't tried the Fiat race yet. These events are definitely challenging. Especially with the STI ... any more understeer, and I'll be going in the opposite direction.

Thanks!! My best position was fifth and with your settings, advises and a little practice i won it by 1.4 seconds 👍

Now i'm gonna try the others

EDIT: the only differences are that I didn't put it a rear wing, and i bought a FC transmission and set it to 220 km/h of top speed

I just got fourth on the STI race. I've tuned out a lot of understeer but good grief you've got to be patient when powering out of a corner.

Lotus seasonal was pretty easy. Got Gold on my third try. Here's what I did....

All Aero Parts
Chassis Reinforcement
Ballast: 101kg at -50 (Null this by purchasing all lightening parts, Final Weight: 860kg)

Engine: Limited to 84.7%
Catalytic Converter: Sports
HIGH RPM TURBO <---Important
Fully customizable Tranny: 118 Top Speed <----Although you could lower it further

That's it....Fastest lap: 1:02.800

Edit: Question...Where do you get the Subaru from?

this isn't even hard, it's just stupid.

Have fun driving a truck on ice guys.

Just won the Fiat race by 0.622, I passed the A2 going into the last corner.

I had to restart twice after ending up on top of the other cars in all the wrong places and hitting the wall after the tunnel which completely killed the momentum. I think I ran mid 2.08 for the first lap, the others were two mid 2.04s and two high 2.03s. As everyone is saying it shouldn't be too difficult if you're somewhere around there.

Fitted: Oil change, Sport ECU, Sport Air Filter, Sport Exhaust (power limited).
Fully cust. Suspension and Trans., Single Plate Clutch, Sports flywheel, LSD.

Transmission: set max speed to 112mph and final drive to 3.9
LSD: 8/16/5
Suspension: F-20mm/R-20m, Rates F7.6/R6.0, Damper ext. F4/R4
Damper comp. F4/R3, ARBs F3/R4, Camber F1.4/R1.2, Toe F-0.07/R0.0
Brakes: F4/R5

Your transmission is set too high.
I had mine at 112-4.093 and even then it felt like I needed to lower it a few notches.

Finished with 2.8 seconds to spare.

Can someone tell me where I can get the Subaru from? It's the only seasonal I have left

Edit: I'm really stupid sometimes, lol, got the Subbie. Time to own the final seasonal.

The trick to beating these new seasonals is don't ever exit the race if you don't win, just restart cause that extra HP gain makes it able for you to win, after you keep restarting the race your car HP will have gone up 6 or more HP, if you quit you trigger the game to check regulations again therefore losing your advantage.
