Yeah I agree that the Focus race is very hard without assists, I tried many times but could never catch the Focus RS. Then a brief look here and golded the race right after...
I'm not a fan of assists but skid recovery works wonders here.

+1 thank you for that, I will try later. I was lapping in the 1.44s and 1.45s on my first two goes for easy Silver and was wondering how I would catch the RS. The first (Mini) one was a pretty simple affair. I will do them in order,.. looking forward to the Nascar at the 'Ring event.

I agree with everyone, these events give a welcome break from 'career' mode.
 
Skid Recovery is very useful in the seasonal events. Got 1st in the Nascar race and in the RX-7 @ Deep Forest. Now I want to do the Fiat 500 event :)
 
Well i now only own one dual shock 3 thanks to nascar on the nurburgring.

You cant overtake anyone without getting shut out and hitting the grass then onto the wall into a spin.
 
The new RX-7 one is killing me!!! I own tskuba. I modded a 1990 RS to max for the new race, but whatever i do, each lap makes me one second FURTHER behind whatever it was that leads!!! I just cannot do it.
 
Is the new Laguna Seca event buggy or is it me?

I can´t do any weight reduction on my Ford because if I do Lv.1 reduction I already get 1467KG and I must have 1500KG at minimum... With ~ 1640KG the car feels like an truck...

My Lap times are low 1:43:xxx times and in the last lap of the event I have 10 seconds to car #1... I have 263kw and hard sport tires... All driving aids off and only ABS on 1...
 
You can do windows to reduce the weight and you should be doing mids 42's...

The custom transmission helps a lot.
 
Yeah the window reduction brings 10KG... The 4th gear is very bad adjusted... So I need to invest 20.000 cr. for the cutsom transmission :/

But even with mid. 42´s you can´t catch him... Anyway I´ll give it a try...
 
I have to say PD are really making some good effort providing new stuff for the game. For me this game just keeps getting better and better
 
What are people doing for the Mini race, I golded all the original Bonus Races but I can't seem to get any higher than 8th in this one.

Best I am managing lap time wise is mid 1.07s with fixed suspension, clutch, flywheel and 6 speed close ratio.
 
my Rx7 is 2nd place. 9 seconds behind leader. all i did was move tranny to max 220km/h. i could probably move it to 210 cose i never reach it. but to shave 9 seconds off? anyone golded this?

bonus a spec round 2 is sooo much harder

oh any tips on nascar? 2nd lap and i am only 10th....no way...i should be like 5th after first lap right to have any chance?
 
Yeah the seasonal events are that what the A-Spec is missing! They are great! But you need time to finish them... The Laguna Seca event seems pretty hard for me... Can´t get better than 2nd... After 5-10 trys I´ll turned my PS3 off :D

Ah yeah, what is the most impossible scenario in real racing? Nascar on the Nordschleife... I thought these cars can only drive in circles?! Anyway seems funny, even though undriveable without TCS if you use the full gear...
 
Are all these events open to premium cars or do some of them require the other ones.

Well I guess you used an Rx-7 race car or something, because with my RZ it's nearly impossible to win. And no, I ain't a bad driver!
 
Argh, I hate american muscle cars. :(

I can't keep that mustang on the road.

Tuned it to 392hp and used racing soft tires and still I can't do it.

I did the weight reduction of the windows and that one above and still can't do it. Am I really that bad? :grumpy:

I've managed to win by 13 seconds and I was 6th at the end of lap 1 👍

On my previous run I was 7th at the end of lap 1 but would easily have caught the leader, was 11 seconds behind just before Adenauer Forst, but threw it away. No doubt it is a tricky combo, just be careful not to have a lot of throttle on with significant steering lock and brake a little earlier than you normally would with say a DTM car or the AMG special events cars.

I was using an 824HP AJ Allmendinger Ford Fusion, ride height adjusted to -9/-5, aero changed to maximum amounts front and rear, I didn't touch transmission or anything else. ABS 1 was the only aid used.

I had also done an oil change on my originally 850HP Jeff Gordon Chevy Impala so that was no longer eligible for this event, just very fortunate I had won Allmendinger's car as a Lvl 21 ticket.

Where did these new events come from? I have them, but didn't have to download any update this morning. Were they included in the 1.05 update and just programmed to not show up until Christmas Eve??

I think that the update added the seasonal races functionality but the data for setting up the race is stored on the servers. Thats why you can't race the seasonal events unless you are online.
 
This is great. Good job PD.

I had a lot of fun with the first seasonal races and it made drive cars that wouldn't have driven otherwise.

This is a great idea and improves the game. No more boring grinding. I think I'll just do the seasonal events and online races to reach lvl 40. Will take some time but it's better than to grind a 24h endurance race.

I'm not an IT expert but I always thought that 700mb was kinda big for what we were given. I'm sure the 3 cars that we will get on the 25th are also included there.

The GT Academy was less than 300mb heavy. 2 cars and 1 track.

Maybe there are more surprises?

The new events expire on the 13th, which is a bit odd as that's 7 days after the first events expire, but they were added 4 days after the first events.

So maybe PD are having some time off for the end of the year, so added the events now.

I bet all the events are already downloaded as a part of 1.05, and they are getting activated at a pre-determined date. I won't be surprised if something else pops up at around new years eve :sly:
 
MY RX-7 event seem to be glitched,

at the first corner time thing, I'm 30 seconds behind
then the nexter time check I'm 44 seconds behind and I was driving well,

then in the second to last lap I passed the lot and became second

then I passed the number one, but I'm still driving second and end up not winning the race because I am 10 seconds behind a non existing driver ?!?!
 
Holy be-Jesus' birth!

I got 12th in the NASCAR challenge and actually view it as an accomplishment that I actually finished the damn thing w/o crashing... GOD DAMN difficult (but fun as hell)

Well thats all the seasonal races gold. I'm just loving these, great challange due to the restrictions. Not had to put muching tuning on yet. Only had to add the customizable gear box on the challanger in the first lot and the rest just the odd tweak. Just hope they keep these coming. Good alternative to the dealership races which I'm missing from GT4.

radic you'll find it isn't glitched at all, just drive hard and you'll get there. The car you think is number one but I'm pretty sure you're lapping a back marker. As I thought that the first time i tried it but I golded it the second time thou!! I found slow in fast out was the key to a lot of the races esp the RX-7. Its very much one-lap magic but over five laps, so you need to push hard all the time.

I golded everything except the Focus and RX-7 without too much hassle. For those races use Skid Recovery, practically an I-Win button. Im working on doing the RX-7 without it. Its hard. Pretty much have to constantly lap 1:00.0 - 1:01.0
