So far... 2.4 seconds behind 1st place. Personally love the feel of the car with these setting... just need to work on my driving I reckon

Just got first by a little under two seconds with your setup (I used MT and no TCS). Took a lot of tries to get used to it, but it all worked in the end. Thanks!

Awesome, thats good to see.

I knew it had potential and it all came down to my driving.

Just beat the Fiat one with Akira's setup, got a Toyota Camry NASCAR car for the trouble :)

If you're at wit's end with the Fiat one, just cut the last chicane. The grass will add 2-3 MPH in addition to cutting. I only used a sports suspension, and the fixed 5 speed tranny. Otherwise, practice, practice, practice. I ended up running consistent 2:02's and won by 7.3 seconds.

I won the Elise one by simply being careful with the gas. No matter how neat the drift, it's not as fast as just late braking and smooth turning with light gas. Just remind yourself to never floor it while turning as hard as you can. You can floor it under some steering, and vice versa, but never both. Full suspension, spring rate at 12 both ends, roll bars at 2, stock tranny, all the drivetrain parts. Don't forget your aero parts, either.

This is really frickin irritating. I can only get into 4th with the Elise, and 5th with the Subaru. That Impreza only understeers, nothing else. I'm hitting 1:40's. I hate the DS3 too, I think its only possible with a wheel. Can you guys help? Thanks!

Stay calm, and go get yourselve a new wheel. Adds up to more action with a wheel. enjoy racing.

And thank you for sharing this post. saves up lots of time.

That's the trick. The WRX is an oversteering whale. So do the Audi R18 trick.

Got the weight on 1241kg and set 9 kg on -30 ballast position. Now the car turns in nicely in the first corner Also I was allowed 400 horsepower for some reason.

Buy everything ure allowed and leave the tuning settings to default!!
Took the lead in last corner with joypad. With steering wheel you get first before the corkscrew.

These new seasonals are alot better then the previous one's. I guess it's maybe cause there's a prize at the end of it if you attain 1st place. Just the Fiat 500 event left. Lotus was tricky and the Scooby was by far the easiest. Even used my own set up for it :P Thanks too SHIRAKAWA Akira for his Lotus setup. A lot of help! :)

accept my fr when u get so i can borow the sti, thanks!

No request yet?

you sure you're doing my name right?

The letter I (as in India), the number 76, the letters OES

It wouldnt let me start a username with a number as the first character... otherwise it would have been the same as my username here :)

Finally got gold on all three of these challenges. I won the Fiat race by 0.03, Elise by 0.10 and WRX by 0.01 (nice photo finish there). Took me about 3-4 hours per challenge from setup research to Gold. I used setups from this thread for all three... thank you!

The Elise challenge gave me headaches, until I switched to SHIRAKAWA's setup (ended up buying a new elise without aero). Doing so I noticed I had ballast at +50 (instead of -50 :banghead:) from the previous setup so that was probably the issue all along and not the old setup or aero. I still ran in 1.03's with the old setup, but was almost impossible to be consistent with it.

One thing for the Elise challenge that helped me overcome the frustration of restarting races over and over is I went instead to practice mode with the setup until I could bang out pretty consistent 1'03.xx laps... made all the difference when I went back into the challenge... then it was just about execution and making clean passes that didn't impact corner exit speed much. I never managed a lap in the 1'02s.

For those of you beating that Elise challenge by 2 secs or more, what's your initial lap time and then average for 2-5? I'd basically abort the race to save time if I didn't get at least mid-low 1'04 in the first lap.

👍 Kudos to PD for a great Season Event at just the right difficulty level (for me at least)... hope there are more of these in future updates. I would have been dead in the water without setup help though. Next project is to figure out how to tune myself. Any tips on where to start?

Fiat race.. I found the most important part of the track was after the long hilly straight.. the corner before the uphill. Got to nail that corner and have to be going atleast 63mph up the hill. You gain a ton there.

I found that I made up the most time by knowing exactly when I should brake and when I should just coast. There were several turns where I had been braking and later realized that braking wasn't necessary at all.

I must have done about 4-5hrs on the Elise race so far. I spin about 50% of the tries, which thankfully, mostly happens on one of the first laps. The last few I finished were all within a second of the lead car. I think most were within 0.7 or less and my last one I got to 0.2xx behind. I usuall pass the 2nd place car in the infield section around the right left area. I then just don't have enough room to catch the 1st place car. My first lap is usually 1:04.xx (usually .6 -.8). Laps 2 and 3 I can usally get mid 1:03.xx. Lap 4 usually costs me. I usually get held up slightly behind the 3rd or 2nd car (can't remember which one now) and I end up with a low 1:04.xx lap. I usually return to form on the last lap with a mid 1:03.xx. I just need another 1/2 lap and I could pass that last car he's soooooo close.

My tune was something like:

All power additions and weight reductions with limiter and ballast and all weight shifted forward

Rider Height -25/-25
springs 5.0/6.0
shocks 6/6
3/3
ARB 3/3
Camber 1.6/1.5
Toe -0.20/0.10
Aero 20

LSD 10/20/10 (I lowered accel from 40 to 20 and it decreased exit spinning)

Brakes 5/6

I initially had no toe on the front, but I found adding this seemed to make the car turn in quicker. Maybe I over did it.

I checked out Adrenelines tune and I see that his is much stiffer with less camber. He states that it's the fastest tune for his driving style. I think I'll try that and see if it can give me that little extra I need to claim first. I need to figure out a way to get around the 2nd and 3rd place cars quicker as well.

I hope PD leaves these challenges up for a while. That was one issue with the old Bonus Races. They had new ones every week and for those of us with limited time, it often meant I had to ignore a couple every week. I like the intensity of these challenges, but it's going to take me quite a while to get them. The Fiat took me 2-3hrs and I likely spent 4-5hrs on the Elise.

Does anyone have a good setup for the WRX challenge? I keep getting 5th and I would need another lap in order to pass everyone.

I tried some of the setups posted here but most do not work for me as I drive without TCS and ABS.
I have a Decent setup where im able to control the car without too much understere but its just not fast enough.

Thanks.

You are not the only one,IMO I think that seca is a tricky circuit to drive.

Thanks for this tune! This did the trick for me after about five tries, kept screwing up one of the laps every time. Although at first try I misread and %-limited the power to 295 instead of 395. Was driving like a madman and gained in the corners, but when I was overtaken by #10 on the straight over the finish like I was driving a bycicle I was starting to get a bit worried. I was thinking "This 🤬 can't be happening, I just gold-finished the Elise challenge..." Miraculously managed to get 7th place in the end, and was sooo relieved to see I made a mistake in the power limiter set-up. :sly:

But indeed a tricky circuit to drive, I think the first corner is where you can gain a lot if you brake hard enough so you can take a tight turn and get on the gas early (and not hitting the grass on the right going out). The other part is the corner just before the hill-up section that ends in the mad chicane, you only have to brake lightly and turn in early while almost at full throttle, keeps the speed going uphill. I did change my toe settings to: 0.05, 0.20 trying to get it to corner a bit better but I doubt it changes much. Mostly it's braking in time and hitting the throttle just right going out. Lap times: 1:36 on first lap is possible, and just keep under 1:36 after that (as 1:36 x 5 = 8m, which is usually the #1 time). I won with 1:34.x in the other laps, taking the last car in the very last corner.

Fiat challenge up next, already managed to get 2nd place using DS3 so this should be a walk in the park on my G25 wheel.

Just a note to say that Rotary Junkie's WRX tune won it for me on the second attempt (after I improved my consistency). A little understeery is all.

Also SHIRAKAWA Akira's tune for the 111R is *fantastic*. It feels like a completely different car. Won first time. I'm keeping that tune in my back pocket - thanks a lot!

Yeah rotary junkies did it for me too it sorted out a lot of that understeer problem

got 3rd on first attempt in Subaru event with 176OES's settings. I will need to either cheat like hell or fine-tune your settings.

If you got 3rd on first attemp, maybe all you need is a few more attemps until you get use to that tune instead of changing it, because like this You are always learning the car, if you practice with the same tune a few times you'll keep improving.
Remember that in this races there are no easy winning tunes, but practice makes it easier.

Used 176's tune above, came 2nd after 3 attempts, and there are definite corners I know I can take better - just need to be consistent. Difficult, yes, impossible? Not a chance. Tell Ethan Hunt to stay at home

Playing on DS3 .

Akira's tune for Lotus Elise, nailed after few attempts by 1.8s.

In Subaro event used 1760's tune, wasn't hard but I personally hate that car, not my style of driving, but made after 30mins... 2.6s gap.

Thank you lads.

I use a DS3 and golded the fiat race on the 6th or 7th attempt (tweaking tunes each time). Use manual with the power limiter trick cos u need to change gear between 4 and 5000rpm.cant remember what my lap times were.il post the tuning when i can get to it lol.
Golded the elise race after the 10/12th attempt, tweaking tune after each race (found it VERY hard to find a nice setup). 1st lap was 1:05:xxx then I hit all 1:03:xxx's and a 1:02:xxx on the last lap (took 1st place on the hairpin 2nd to last corner).
I'm now on my 4th attempt at Subaru race but a, finding it HARD to tune. Understeers sooo much. Il try stock suspension as suggested, but ive been been lowering the rear -25 and raising front +25 so far!
