@Villian Did you miss last season, his time with Oakland, and towards the end of his first stint in Minnesota? Moss would give up in games and his team when things werent going good.

What I'm saying is that his '08 season with New England was what it looked like when Moss gave 100%. Now if he'd done that his entire career...

Anyways, one of the best things about growing up a 49er fan is that I still get to claim the consensus best wideout and one of the best (if not the best) QBs in the history of the game. Too bad it's been awhile since we've anything worth watching :indiff:

Lucky you, us Panthers fans got to claim a kicker (gone now), a couple of wide receivers (all gone but one), and a pretty good quarterback (gone). We are stars 👍. Granted, we are an expansion team so I can't exactly be complaining about history .

We could have claimed a Superbowl too, if it wasn't for those meddling Patriots. :grumpy:

Oh, I've always hated the Patriots, ever since they won the second Super Bowl under Belichick (I forget who it was against). The other team I follow, the Giants, caused me to be very, very happy when they ruined their perfect season and won that Super Bowl a few years back 👍.

David Tyree's helmet catch was incredible, I lol'd hard at the end of that game.

If I ever had to own a statue of anything, it would have to be the epic helmet pindown that led to the Patriots' demise 👍.

Im not saying that every single game or season Moss didnt give his all, because when he did he was virtually unstoppable. What Im saying is that for Randy when his team wasnt playing well he quit. If he played every season like he did the 2007 season with the Patriots he would be the best of all time, but he didnt. Thats why I said I wouldve loved to see what his stats would be if he did have the work ethic of Jerry Rice and not quit on his team.

Would anyone be interested in doing pick em' this year?

I am considering starting one if people are interested.

Like fantasy football? I've always wanted to, but it sounds like too much work. What if we did something where we chose a quarterback every week and whoever picked the QB with the best game got a point or something? And if you're talking about picking games, that'd be fun too :sly:.

Just picking who will win each game.

That reminds me, I will be doing the Fantasy Football league again this year. I just need to get it setup.

Is that strictly up here? I'm interested to see how that works.

Here is the threads from past seasons. You can read up on how it went and see how it works. We will likely have room for new players this year.

2010
2009
2008
2007 (First year)

The best way to sum it up is that you create a team of players from across the league (think of trying to create an all-star team) and then your team's performance is determined by their individual stats.

Haven't been here in a while, I'm waiting for an invite from FK for the Fantasy football....I can probably run the pick'em weekly if needed...I just need help with the rules.

With Vonta Leach going from the Texans to the Ravens, we picked up free agent fullback Lawrence Vickers. James Casey is our current FB, and I think Vickers may help provide a boost for our offensive line. I really want to see the Texans make the playoffs and play harder than they have before. I want to see the Texans who beat Indy in Week 1 and win in Overtime at the Redskins... rather than the Texans who failed at the Jaguars in a million-to-one shot. They just have to start winning and consistently win. Last year, I was excited for Texans football because I liked our chances of emerging. This season... I'm modestly excited for Texans football.

Our first Preseason match is on Monday, August 15 against the Jets. Be interesting to see who will remain with the Texans once the roster cuts are made. Speaking of which, I also learned that we let go of Amobi Okoye. I don't know if I mentioned that or not in any previous posts.

Was Vonta Leach any good down there John? I never kept up with him because he didn't get a lot of mentions, but he did work here at ECU back in the day. And I just saw an ESPN bit about people booing Chad Henne; Omnis, have they been restricting fan access to any practices lately? Sporano looked pretty peeved about the fans' behavior in the interview I saw.

Vonta was pretty solid. Good blocker.

Here's the deal with the Chad Henne booing... Of course, this whole thing has been blown up terribly by the media. Thank Twitter and our local braindead, retarded sports writers for that. Omar and Armando are the biggest morons ever.

Anyway, here's what happened: The Dolphins hosted a free "Fan Night" kind of a thing at the stadium. It was a show of good faith for the fanbase after the lockout. Parking and admission were free, concessions were half off, and you got to sit anywhere you wanted in the stadium to watch the team practice on the field.

During the QB drills, they lined up Cam Wake (dude is a beast; elite talent; best burst off the edge in the NFL) as the rusher and basically he has to tag the QB to get a sack. Well, Henne was getting "sacked" a lot and missing his throws because of it. Pat Devlin took 3 sacks and then came back and completed a long bomb. Chad was close most of the time, but the ball was either dropped or not caught a couple of times. Our fans are so dumb that they will actually boo when the defense makes a play.

Here's where the 4 or 5 drunk moron fans come in: They start yelling crap and booing. 2 or 3 guys start chanting "We want Orton" and the crowd in the immediate area (like 20 people maybe) join in because (1) they are just casual fans that don't know who Kyle Orton is and (2) average fans in Miami don't really have an identity so they will usually just start repeating whatever they hear. The thing is, it was so quiet in the stadium that you could actually hear the idiots making a racket. So a few morons are turned into a story by two other moron journalists trying to gain notoriety. Does this surprise you at all?

The Lions are going to beast it assuming everyone stays healthy. Jim Schwartz is good.

Not really, attention is power in some peoples' eyes, negative or not. And I remember Vonta, I met him when I was little and remember being amazed that he was twice as wide as me (I was probably 9 or 10 at the time). And I'm really, really excited about Dwayne Harris in Dallas. He's the first elite receiver we've had come out of ECU in a really long time, and if not for some trouble with drops, he'd have gone in the 2nd round this year. He is the quickest son of a gun I've seen in awhile, and I really want him to succeed.

EDIT: Rocko, that could happen, seeing as their defense probably won't be on the field that much. But, it looks like the quarterback for the other side is gonna be on his rear end more than he wants to, so I don't think they will have to score many points to win games this season.
