The 49ers did pleasantly horrible. I'm hoping for that 1st pick in next year's draft so I will be cheering every loss! 👍

Dwayne Harris (just happened to have played at ECU, you guys seeing a pattern here? :sly:) just put up a heck of a stat sheet against the Broncos. Two TD catches, one of 70 yards plus. Very proud of him 👍.

I'm interested in seeing how the Texans will do this season, but a lot of people have the Browns as a potential surprise team. What team(s) would surprise YOU in making the playoffs (or even going far into the playoffs) this coming season?

I want the Lions to do good. And this guy on ESPN is really high on the Texans, he said that they will take control of the division this year.

The Bengals might just beat you to it though.

You're right. The Bengals look worse by the day and the 49ers actually don't look super awful. Harbaugh might just be the guy who can fix Alex Smith. Not to mention Colin Kaepernick might actually turn out to be decent.

I still want Andrew Luck, though... :indiff: (who doesn't?)

The Lions, Calvin Johnson is a beast and if Stafford stays healthy, I think they will have a big year.

Not to mention Suh. I wouldn't wanna make that dude mad, I'd probably be minus a limb after he got done with me.

Well, he seemed like a nice guy in interviews, so I figured he would only tear off an arm or something. ;)

The Texans won 27-14 last night against the Saints. It's our last home Preseason game. Left on our Preseason schedule is... at San Francisco and at Minnesota. Ben Tate was BALLIN'! He put on a bunch of rushing yards. I feel great about our offense if we have Arian Foster and Ben Tate working at full strength all season long. And of course, I can't forget about my man Andre Johnson.

Texans defense, however, still needs some work. It wasn't as good as that stifling defense we shown against the Jets (especially in the first half). They still put on a good show. I think the Texans should work better at wrapping up guys better and getting more sacks. Our secondary is improving, to put it mildly.

The third set of Preseason games will trigger trimming down the rosters. Be interesting to see who all goes and who all stays. Also, starters will play longer. How are your teams doing so far this Preseason?

I'm really starting to question the Seahawk's managerial staff. They named Tavaris Jackson the starter before he even played a down, but I have not been impressed with his play at all to be honest. Both backups have shown more potential than him. I know they played against scrub defense, but in tern they had scrub offense to work with. I hope he either kicks it into high gear or the coaches make a change.

Tavaris Jackson = Overrated. Charlie Whitehurst should be starting in Seattle. In other news, the Raiders acquired QB Terrell Pryor in the 3rd Round of the supplemental draft. I wonder if this will end up being another QB that fails in Oakland. They were good when they had Rich Gannon.

Bears at Giants tonight!

Be interesting to see who the better team is with these two playing in New Jersey. I would favor the Giants in this Preseason match. However, the Bears are not any cupcakes.

Julius Peppers used to play in Carolina, and he was a boss, no other way to put it. I'll be happy either way that one turns out, I like the Giants 👍.

Preseason games are just scrimmages with refs and expensive tickets. Make it a regular season game and I'll pick da Bears in that matchup. 👍

Yeah, I'm trying to put that in the back of my mind. It's just holding me over until college football as well :).

Bears got owned by the Giants. SURE you wouldn't pick the Bears if it was Regular Season? Most of what I saw was just Giants blue all over the Bears on the scoreboard.

The Preseason action gets a bit more serious now since the next two games will see more starters have more time, and some of the newcoming talent will have to prove they can fill the available roster spots for when the season starts proper. My Texans are at San Francisco this Saturday and end their Preseason at the Vikings... next Thursday, I believe.

No doubt about it, regular season is totally different. No borderline players trying to make the team, etc. Who cares how many TD's were scored by David Carr against the Bears' second and third team defenses? In three weeks you probably won't even remember last night's game.

That's one thing that surprised me about the Giants when I saw bits and pieces of that game. Not so much the score, but TWO former Texans QBs playing for the Giants now. Sage Rosenfels HAD to go after he helped the Colts take the win after we were up by 17 long ago. David Carr, while not an outstanding QB, was leagues better than Sage was when Sage donned Texans colors.

If that was a Regular Season game, I'd imagine the game would be much closer than what that Preseason match shown.

More preseason games set for this weekend. Redskins at Ravens is on right now as of this post. Good luck to all of your teams this weekend!

Panthers got beaten by the Bengals 24-13, Newton was disappointing passing the ball, but at least he did have a rushing T.D though.

I hope everyone will be safe with the games affected by Hurricane Irene. The Jets/Giants game was moved to Monday Night and will be televised on NFL Network. All of you take care.

Meanwhile, my Texans will be at San Francisco tonight for their third Preseason match against the 49ers.

I bet if you watch Sportscenter later you will be amazed. The Seahawks did something nobody was expecting to happen at all this year, and that is score a touchdown on a kickoff. To be fair, Denver had an off-sides penalty, so the re-kick was done at the (old regular) 30 yard line and wouldn't you know it, we scored.

As I'm typing this we just tied it up at 20-20 with 1:16 left in the game. Once again I was more impressed with Whitehurst over Jackson, but since Charlie hasn't played with the first team yet this year you can't really make accurate comparisons.

My Texans would have won in a shutout over the 49ers had Matt Schaub not throw a stupid ass interception on the very first play of the game. Turnover problems were also an issue, but we won 30-7 over the 49ers. Our final Preseason game is at the Vikings on Thursday, September 1, 2011. 3-0 in the Postseason. Of course, none of these games matter.

Jared Odrick is such a beast. I think in the next couple of years he'll develop into one of, if not the best 3-4 DE in the league. Watch #98 below, near the middle.

Arian Foster re-tweaked his hamstring injury during the 49ers game. I think he'll be good to go (or hope so) for the regular season. I am positive about my Texans now. Still not super-confident, though. You never know how the team performs when it's the regular season. I really thought my Texans could make the playoffs last season, but all the defensive injuries and woes just made them settle for WATCHING the playoffs rather than playing in them. I have also become positive about the new defensive package and the new players. JJ Watt is going to be a beast on defense for my Texans.

Just because the playoffs are the dream for me doesn't mean I want them to just make the playoffs and just enjoy the trip. If they can make the playoffs, I dream seeing them play in (and perhaps win) the Super Bowl. When you're a fan of an NFL team, you hope for two things- making the Super Bowl and winning it. I don't know what we have for a team, but I can only hope what we have is just enough to far beyond any Texans teams past.

It will be time to see how the at Vikings game go for my Texans on Thursday night.
