Are we all pumped up for one of the worst Monday night games in a long time? Although I believe the Seahawks are still mathematically eligible for the playoffs... They shouldn't be but they are.

They are for now, as is Arizona. The key is that both Detroit and Atlanta have to lose 2 of their final 3 games.

Rams at Seahawks TONIGHT!

The Pacific Northwest goes prime time as beautiful Seattle has some Monday Night Football. The Rams from St. Louis will try to tame some Seahawks. Good luck to both teams tonight.

Other than this matchup I wanted to post, thanks for the Texans love! Much appreciated. I just think that it's sometimes better to be lucky than good. TJ Yates is surely growing on me. I like that he seems more athletic than our two Matts (Schaub and Leinart). I just want to see him really be that field general for the full sixty minutes. I think he's great once he gets going. It's just too bad he gets going too late often times. Still- TJ Yates to Kevin Walter will remain in Texans' hearts for a long time to come.

I'm hearing that Tim Tebow could be the starter next season for the Broncos if Tebow keeps up this amazing QB play. Check this out... next Sunday: Patriots at Broncos. If the Broncos trail and if they bounce back to win against the powerhouse Patriots, then Tebow is a lock for at least the Pro Bowl. Hell, he could represent the AFC as quarterback for all I care.

I feel he could start over Schaub next season if he gets a few more wins. He isn't flashy, but he is effective. He wins games.

The Seahawks should win with "Beast Mode".

Anyone got any thoughts on [...] 'Fins coach Tony Sparano being fired?

Yeah, it was bound to happen. Weird that you fire someone when the team is getting somewhat turned around, but 4 wins in 13 games just isn't going to cut it. Might as well use an interim coach, because there isn't much available coaching talent out there right now. Jeff Fischer is probably the only serious experience candidate, since Jeff Cowher's been out of pro football since 2007. I'm kind of surprised Ireland wasn't given the boot as well, although they got a decent draft this year.

Still, no QB talent and boring, conservative play means Tony was a bit of a scapegoat, but the Dolphins need a coach with some experience first. He was better than Cam Cameron.

Sparano was a great Workweek coach, but was severely lacking when it came to gameday.

Oh well. Hopefully the next one doesn't come from the Tuna tree. I won't stand for a retread coach either. Give me Chud, Zimmer, or even Jay Gruden.

Looks like the AFC titles will be decided mainly in the final week. Heck two division titles have yet to be fully decided. Ravens and Steelers are still duking it out and New England has to win the next game or the Jets have to lose to the Eagles for NE to clench their division title. Exciting final three weeks.

Sparano will be a Offensive coordinator next year, I think. I was a bit surprised at the firing of Todd Haley. I expect Jim Caldwell to be fired if they go 0-16. Hopefully Peyton Manning will become a player/Head Coach next season.

LOL! No he won't! He had to bring in Daboll to put together an offense that was more than a kicking unit.

He's a glorified position coach. He'll go back to coaching O-line. I doubt he stays in the NFL though. He'll probably be the next head coach for some small northeast college.

So now that you all got to see a Seahawk game in prime-time two weeks in a row, do you believe us that Tavaris Jackson is the main anchor dragging this team down?

On a Dolphins forum I frequent, they've started a tradition of tracking Ross's plane wherever it goes. We saw him flying to Palo Alto last year and were super excited that he was going to get Jim Harbaugh to coach the Dolphins.

If you'd like to track your favorite sports owner's flights, just find their plane's callsign number code thing and put it in.

Ross's jet is currently in Lehigh PA. COULD THIS BE? ANDY REID?

Here are the division leaders as of the date of this post:

! = clinched division
^ clinched playoff spot

AFC Division Leaders:
EAST: New England (10-3)
NORTH: Baltimore (10-3)
SOUTH: Houston! (10-3)
WEST: Denver (8-5)

NFC Division Leaders:
EAST: New York Giants (7-6)
NORTH: Green Bay! (13-0)
SOUTH: New Orleans^ (10-3)
WEST: San Francisco! (10-3)

As the season plays itself out, the other playoff spots will fill themselves out. How many of these current leaders will keep their division lead? Who'll claim the Wild Card spots? We shall see, won't we?

I'm just praying the Dolphins lose out and the Panthers, Vikes, Jags, Bucs, and all the other 4-9-or-worse teams win.

For the Dolphins, it's the difference between picking 4th and being out of the top ten. To lose is to win here. You jump like 6 spots in draft order.

And now its down to New England to play the bad guys and beat Tebow.

This will be a first for me.I'm going to root for the Patriots.

I don't like the Broncos and i hate Tebow. It's all you hear,Tebow this, Tebow that.Oh, he got Tebowed...really?I think i hate Tebow more than i do Tom Brady and that's saying something.

If you don't understand my hate for Tebow, just look at where i'm from. That will tell you all you need to know.

Wade Phillips is taking a medical leave of absence. He has to have some kind of kidney procedure, but he stresses he'll be fine since it isn't cancerous or anything. It will be up to Reggie Herring (HOU Linebackers coach) to take over in place of Wade.

The rest of our season:
* Carolina Panthers (this Sunday)
* at Indianapolis Colts (Thursday night next week)
* Tennessee Titans (New Year's Day)

I wish Wade Phillips the best in recovery.

@Omnis: I like the Broncos. I hate how everyone says Tebow is winning the games. When in reality its their Defense winning the games.

Tonight, it's the Jacksonville Jaguars heading north to take on "Matty Ice" and the Atlanta Falcons. Saturday night is a match in South Florida as the Dallas Cowboys head down to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers.

Go enjoy some NFL football and best of luck to all of your team(s).

Southwest Florida? Still... Cowboys at Buccaneers this Saturday night.

I think the match many people will be watching will be the New England Patriots at the Denver Broncos (Tebow Time!). Unless there's an insurmountable lead by the Patriots, I think Tim Tebow will REALLY be tested this weekend- hostile environment against a powerhouse team. That Denver defense will also be tested. I might even watch that game to see how that one goes.

Tampa bay is not south florida.

University of South Florida is located there, oddly.

I've heard that all the "divisions" of the state came about fairly recently, there was essentially just North, Panhandle, and South at the time. Then they built more universities to the south of Tampa over the years, but the name stuck.

Eventually, terms like Space Coast, First Coast, Treasure Coast, Southwest Florida, Tampa Bay, Central Florida, Northeast Florida, North-Central Florida, Florida's Heartland, et cetera...sprang up over time as each one had their own tourism board to get travellers to visit and promote business.

Tampa isn't South Florida, though.

Back when USF came here to play (their Conference USA days), we used to lovingly call them the University of Somewhere in Florida . Lovingly, because that was back when they were bad and we won every year . I sure hope the Pack can handle the Chiefs this week, I'd like to see Aaron Rodgers keep succeeding. He seems like a good guy.

Right now (back on topic), it's 34-0 in favor of Atlanta. inside of 13 minutes left in the 3rd Quarter. Not looking good for JAX. Atlanta sacked Jacksonville, forced a fumble, and took it home to score. So yeah... the Jaguars are swooning in the ATL tonight.

Christmas came early for that defensive tackle. Probably the easiest TD ever scored.

Jags take one to the chin- a 41-14 exorcism. Have to wonder how the Cowboys will do in Tampa Bay on Saturday night.
