You want to know something funny for the past few years my hatred of the Dolphins had subsided (on slightly) with the Pats taking over as Public enemy #1. But after my Jets got swept by the Fins they are back as my most hated team in the AFC East. I was actually wanting the Pats to beat the Dolphins last week. It felt really strange. :yuck:

:) At least the AFC is like the most interesting conference.

The Bengals swept the Ravens and Steelers in the same year. WHo would have thunk it?

Congrats to the Colts for coming back from a 17 points deficit, to the Patriots no less. An amazing catch by Reggie Wayne.

The Bills were down 27-17 when we switched to watching NASCAR. Right before we switched back, I commented that they were probably down 40-17 at that point. Cue the "whoa" when we saw that the Titans were setting up for the extra point attempt to make it 41-17.

I am awesome.

Bud Adams (TEN owner) was caught flipping birds on camera. Should be fined for what he did. Despite this... Ravens at Browns tonight! I think the Ravens are favored by 11. Unless Baltimore just doesn't show up, ANY chance for the Browns to win, or are the Ravens just too damn good?

I think the only way Cleveland can win is if the whole Raven's team falls down laughing at how bad the Browns are(this is actually a possibility).

On a side note, do you think the supposed "protest" will have any effect? That is of course if it actually happens.

Am I the only one who liked "The Call" last night? I'm no patriots fan, and I certainly am no Belichick fan. But I've got to hand it to him, that was one gutsy decision and I liked it - and that's not just because I'm a big fan of the Colts. He trusted his offense to get 2 yards more than he trusted his defense to step up. And was right to do so.

Actually, he didn't trust his defense to step up which is why he put the game in the hands of brady to get 2 yards. Manning had two quick TD drives in the fourth quarter just before that point and Belicheck was not confident in his defense to prevent manning from doing it again.

I understand his reasoning behind what he did but I don't agree with it. I'm glad it blew up in his face though.

That's what I said, and that's why it was a good call.

Here's my problem with the 4th down thing. If you trust your offense why not have a play designed to get the ball to your two best playmakers, Moss & Welker. Usually Faulk is very dependable but I believe Welker or Moss wouldn't have bobbled the ball.

You don't watch the pats very often do you. On almost any 3rd down play the ball goes to Faulk via the pass. Everyone on the field knew where that ball was going.

I like Browns fans and their senses of humor though. Did any of you catch that dude with the sign that said, "Rebuilding since 1964" ? That was classic.

I liked it. 4th and go for it takes GUTS, especially in that position. Brady is no slouch so trusting him or trusting defense is 6-of-one-half-dozen-of-the-other. And Manning can move the ball 70 yards as easily as 20, so you could say he WAS trusting his defense to hold the 20 yards. I think more games have been won by going for it on 4th down than punting.

Yes, there were many good signs. Sadly :ouch: I liked the one that said "At least one Ohio team can beat Pittsburgh".

Who is Brian Brohm? The entirety of upstate New York has seemingly just exploded at the announcement of his signing.
He played at the University of Louisville under Bobby Petrino, when they were still good. Having seen him play in person, I can say that he was very good, on a college level at least.

This belongs here.

Titans at Texans tonight! You going with my boys, or the team formerly known as the Houston Oilers (Tennessee Titans)? Since few care about my Texans, go ahead and pick against my boys...

G:censored: damned, mother f:censored:ing Texans! AGAIN we f:censored: lose on a long field goal. Titans lose 20-17. I wouldn't be surprised if Kris Browns gets traded or something. It's motherf:censored:ing inexcusable. Yeah, he's a field goal kicker. But when you lose AGAIN on a damned long field goal, that's a damned shame. And this was from CENTER field! Kris "Money" Brown must have gone bankrupt. This is g:censored: inexcusable!!!

I guess we're heading to 5-6 when Indy comes to town next week. A chance to tie, and we blow it. I'm pissed off. Do you want to make the playoffs or not? If yet, FREAKING HIT A F:censored: FIELD GOAL, DAMN IT!!!!!

I still think Texas had enough time and timeout to try and get closer. Especially considering Brown's miss the previous game.

Yea, that was a blown opportunity. Still, overtime is not a guaranteed victory. It would have kept them alive, but I think they'd have had a 50/50 shot at best in OT. Gotta love Vince Young racking up 73 yards rushing primarily in 10 yard chunks necessary to move the chains. That's got to really demoralize the defense. 3rd and 10, you do everything right, coverage is great, pocket collapses, oh no... there he goes again.

Even still, it still seemed like lose-lose last night. If we made it into Overtime, good. But if it WERE in Overtime, then it would be against us since the Texans have NEVER won in Overtime. Maybe Kris Brown's shanked tying field goals were to prevent us from making it to Overtime, to spare us the trouble of failing in Overtime.

Some of you who read my college football report may have read me talk about how people seemed to have given up on Michigan, as there were more scarlet and gray at the Big House than blue and maize. Well, Houston fans have given up on Matt Schaub while being all enamored(?) with Vince Young. The 2006 NFL Draft thing will haunt Vince, Reggie Bush, and especially Mario Williams for their lives. Schaub played great under center. But for some of my own Houston fans, it just seemed like people cared more about Vince Young than my Texans trying to keep pace in the AFC South and (more importantly) in the AFC Wild Card.

Also, I may stop listening to sports radio because Sports Radio 610 AM here in Houston had a little texting deal where people had to fill in this blank:

I'd rather be _____ than Kris Brown [right now].

And I'm like... wow. People freaking give up on things TOO easily! The Texans aren't executing. And even still, people just give up on the Texans like the season is completely over and that we haven't a thing to play for. Yeah, I went on a tirade over my Texans shanking an opportunity to tie the game last night. I was upset two weeks ago as well ( https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=3633287&postcount=1006 ). When you have the same situation happen twice in successive games, something needs to be checked out. It also doesn't help choking late.

I even blogged asking how people take losses ( http://johnbmarine.blogspot.com/2009/11/losing.html ). Was this a close loss for my Texans, or a game we could have easily won despite the fact the Titans played much better? The two would-be field goals would have given the Texans a 23-20 victory. A loss is still a loss regardless of the margin of victory. It almost seems like I should expect almost the entire city being down on the Texans when they lose. Like we're expected to lose all the time or that we're nowhere near contender status. Well, we're not going to be contenders if (1) we don't PLAY TO WIN and (2) if people stopped believing in the Texans. I guess as long as there are people here who give up on Houston teams, we'll never win a major championship in any pro sport ever again...

I think Gary Kubiak will stick with Kris "Money" Brown. But if it comes down to a chance to win or tie with a field goal, if he misses one more possible game-winning kick, either bench him or trade him. A Florida State field goal kicker has a better chance of saving our bums in a clutch moment than this guy's performance right now.

It seems that many people are under the impression that kicking field goals is easy...
