I'm not sure what the big deal is with that game. I personally hate it when the team that is winning the game decides to burn the clock up for the last 5 minutes of the game rather than actually play football. Even if Minnesota was running the score up (and I admit that they probably were), I wasn't aware that the NFL has a "no hurt feelings" policy.

Controlling the clock is the best way to ensure that you keep the football out of the opponent's hands. If you 'play football' and throw a pick or fumble, or give the opponent a chance to get back in the game then you are risking things.

I'm not really sure what people were expecting. You could tell when they started the drive they were going to just burn the clock, of course it's hard to do that when the other teams defense decides to call it a day.

Can't believe the jets beat the dolts. Fail Diego. If the jets go to the superbowl I'm gonna freak. The sad part is that that could very well happen. That said, I'll be rooting for either Brees or Favre when that time comes.

Believe it. I'm not going to say they will beat Colts but they stand a chance. :)

In some ways the Jets are a more complete team than my Colts are. They have both a running and passing game on offense and solid run and pass defense. The Colts are lacking a running game and lacking a run defense.

Unfortunately the Colts are a far more polished passing team (as everyone knows), so, while I admit that I'm afraid that the Jets have a chance, I would be surprised if they pull it off. The pieces are there, but I think they come up a bit short.

I think it's telling that they needed 3 missed FGs to win against the Bolts.

I admit the Colts have a better team but I feel like the Jets can beat. They were only down five when Manning left the first game. I look at the missed FGS like this they had their chances but didn't take advantage of them. And going into this game the pressure will be on the Colts. If the Jets can keep the game close going into the 4th quarter they have a chance. The Colts might beat the Jets but they won't blow them out.

I guess the story of the Jets is: when life throws you a bone, make bone souffle. Or something.

Thankfully the Dolphins fired Paul Pasqualoni, since his vanilla defense threw away the Dolphins' chances and gave away the playoff spot to the Jets. If the Jets make the superbowl, south florida is going to be awful for 3 weeks. Every obnoxious Jets fan will spread the gangreen all over the place.

At some point, the lack of playoff experience will catch up to the Jets.

Turnovers and producing touchdowns on red zone trips will likely be the keys in that game.

I rarely make predictions, so I'm going to stick with that here. But the Jets most certainly have their work cut out for them.

I understand that it is a smart way to play, but it is the team's prerogative if they actually want to do that. They weren't going to lose that game at that point. It simply wasn't even an option. So if Favre wants to throw another touchdown when the Dallas defense is standing around in the endzone not doing anything remotely similar to defending, who cares? My point is I can't understand the negativity I saw right after the game towards Minnesota. Terry Bradshaw, for example, was acting like it was a disgrace to football in the post-game show.

You what's funny the Cowboys did the same thing to the Eagles in the season finale. No big deal then, so why is it a big deal now? If you can't take it don't dish it.

For some reason Bradshaw doesn't like Favre.

What's not to like? The guy throws his team under the bus, people say he sabotaged them by giving other teams their game plan, then he uses the Jets for one year so that he can parlay his way onto a team that's ready to go to the superbowl but only needs a decent quarterback. All for what? So he can win the superbowl one more time? They were gonna erect a statue in his name at Green Bay. He'd have been a hero to that town for the rest of time. Instead he decided to pull the ultimate dick move and flip them off for a shot at one more moment of glory.

Weird that anyone doesn't like Favre.

👍 Could not have said that better myself

... And abused retirement as a way to get out of contracts.

Anyway, HUGE NEWS FOR DOLPHINS FANS! They just hired MIKE NOLAN to be the new defensive coodinator. This is going to be awesome. Hopefully he'll bring the heat to the iced-over, terribly coordinated by Pasquabaloney, defense.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh was on ESPNEWS, and predicted this year's Super Bowl could be Jets vs. Saints. Part of me just wants to see the Jets get taken down hard since my Texans got hammered 24-7 on Week 1 when we hosted the Jets. I still think Colts vs. Saints will be the Super Bowl in Omnis country.

I saw that. If look at the way Jets strong running game and strong defense that is a formula that many teams have used over the years to win Superbowls. Defense wins championships. If you have a great offense versus a great defense the dfense will the majority of the time.

Look at it this way... The Ravens held the Colts to 20 points last week. Now not only do the Jets have the best defense in the league, but the head coach Rex Ryan was the defensive cordinater for the ravens last year. If the ravens didn't turn over the ball they would have had a much better shot at winning, and this is what the Jets need to avoid doing.

Another angle... The Jets boast the #1 Rushing in the league... The Colts are 25th in the NFL against the rush allowing 126.5 yards per game. The Jets have allowed the least passing yards in the NFL, and we all know the colts biggest strength is the passing game.

I live in NY, so you know who im going for, and you would think the Colts would steamroll the Jets no problem. As good as they are, you have to admit this particular matchup on paper favors the Jets... Only one game separates these teams from the superbowl (which is on my B-day BTW) whoever is hungrier and want's it more will win, no doubt.

Go Vikes!

Yep, I agree......go Vikings!! My favourite NFL team for donkeys years now. Always a QB away from being one of the all time great teams (don't start me about Culpepper, who was supposed to be the great hope!! :yuck: ).

If only we got Favre about 10-15yrs ago, you would've had the most devastating QB & WR combo in the NFL for years in Favre, Randy Moss & Cris Carter, comparable to the great Montana/Rice or Young/Rice combo over at the 49er's!! But he always had to be in cheesehead country for all those years, spoiling our chances for the playoffs on quite a few occasions!! I've always wondered how many titles the Vikings could've really gone for and won if Favre was at Minnesota back then. 💡

But in saying that, Brett is throwing career best numbers in nearly every category this year, all this from a man who's now 40 years old!! I certainly hope we can tear apart the Saints in their house and have Adrian Peterson run his heart out for this game, taking the pressure off Favre and allowing all facets of the offense to flourish!!

So, I will predict Vikings vs Colts for Superbowl. :)

I'm hoping Colts/Saints for it, especially since the Saints are the missus' team. :D I'm really concerned about the Jets though. They are a force worth reckoning with. :nervous:

Its over :( But that's okay my boys did the best they could. When I saw Greene go out I got worried. Oh well the Jets went further than anybody expected and their looking good for next year. :)

Still a successful season for the Jets! they made it to the championship game...

Definitely deserving an honourable mention there. They didn't get to the playoffs by :censored:ing off. 👍

First half had me really worried but somehow we pulled it off. Now let's see what happens with the Vikings/Saints...

VIKINGS!! VIKINGS!! VIKINGS!! VIKINGS!! VIKINGS!! VIKINGS!! VIKINGS!! VIKINGS!! VIKINGS!! VIKINGS!!

I'm getting ramped up for this game, BIG TIME!! :D

Congrats to the Colts too....made their fans sweat a bit before they got into gear. 1/2 my prediction is complete.

I had predicted it would be Colts vs. Saints... and that's what we got. I didn't see either game, but congratulations to both teams (out of sportsmanship). Colts and Saints in the MIA.
