It's obviously proving popular as the price has now shot up £20+ in the UK!!! :ouch:

As it's the same Level 5 who made this, if someone was to say that this game was as well paced and balanced as DQ8 that would be more than enough for me to buy it (but not at £60 though... :grumpy: )

Just ordered it for £37.99 from Sainsbury's

Thanks for the link corne 👍

I swear it was £60 when I looked around online at the weekend... :guilty:

Stupid websites - Just looked on a certain Brazilian river for example and it shows £57 on the main page for the game but then just below it in tiny print it shows £38. Mind you, if you click on that Brazilian link it says they are out of stock anyway...

Good to hear you're still having fun with it after 16 hours Classic :)

Goddamn, who would have thought a genie would be a tough boss. It's literally one single move that is too powerful. :(

I've no idea who Studio Ghibli is to be honest, I'm not into anime.

you need to watch grave of the fireflies, watch it with your gf or whife, its one of the greatest animes ive personally seen, and i cant stand anime or disney at all (i do like some older classics like macross and ninja scroll).

i still havent had the chance to go out and buy it, been too busy. i will probably get it in a month or so if i have the time.

edit: also im a sucker for turn based rog's as well, except in the style like chrono trigger or ffxii where i can see the enemies and try to avoid them if i wish to. but the combat, real turn based combat like in ff6/7, fft, chrono trigger and suikoden 2 are the best for me. action rpg element in a turn based rpg look cool, but im not a fan of it. if i want an action rpg, id like to play a real action rpg. an rpg that has battles played out like gow or dmc would be boss.

 I love how everyone in Motorville juat accepts a boy suffering severe trauma is running around with a cape and wand. 👍

You can actually see the ennemies on the map and avoid them if you want, it's not that easy but doable with the slow one. Also if you have a big gap of level with the ennemies they run away form you and not engage in stupid fight, which was a nice touch I thought.

I spent all day yesterday in town hunting down this game. Like seriously, no-one had it in, and if they did it was a digital download copy and was costing near 50 quid!

Finally found one yesterday in Cex, it was the last copy and I got it for £30!!! Bargin! :D

Ugh, I need to get this thing too. I've tried the demo a couple times and I really liked what I played. Been a whiiiiiile since I last tried a RPG, so it'll take a while to get used to it. Keep reporting people.

i know about that, i was making a point of how i like this feature in turn based rpgs. i meant old school turn based rpgs.

Also you have an opertunety to unlock skills so you can run a bit faster and jump ect. Pretty neat. I'm going to put a few more hours in this Friday.

I really like the Jump action. Even if it is pretty useless, the aesthetics (as expected) look amazing. The way he jumps looks so well done if that makes sense?

I never had time to play yesterday because of University and friends but back to trying to beat the Genie tonight. He isn't even that good, he just has a steroid move that deals unreal damage!

Well now im in the second part of the world map, its time to grind for a while and get my familiars up to scratch. then buy some nice new gear for them too. then when I get to the boss battles they will hopefuly prove to be a bit easier.

Think thats where I've been making school boy errors. Ive been faring fine so far on Normal difficulty but I havent bought a single item... :scared:

I'm on the Boar boss now and it's pretty hard, I have to do a lot of leveling to even get a chance to beat him. But it's fun, unlike ff13, boss are hard, which make it quite entertaining.

I tried the demo to see what the fuzz was about, I just don't get it.... Boring, childish and something for 12 to 14 year olds. It's like adult men that like watching my little pony. There is an age you really are to old for these kind of things and I think I have reached that.

Definitely not a game for me. But still, people who do like, enjoy every minute of it!

It's not like My Little Pony, it's like a Pixar film: Greatly enjoyable for all ages, regardless of its cartoonish "kiddie" art style.

There is no age you reach where all of a sudden you have to start playing "mature" generic FPS's and avoid anything that could potentially be enjoyed by someone under the age of 12.

Thank you, I was going to reply but I didn't quite know how to word it. MLP comparisons couldnt be any far off...

haha, perfect intervention, Walter.

Beat Al-Khemi (Level 5 love their puns huh?) and now I need to travel back to Al Mamoon.

Try and play some more tonight but I have football training. For those with the game, anybody else think that it would be better if weapon changes showed visually? Just a minor point but if my character has an awesome weapon I want it in view.

Not got to Al-Khemi yet, I've just completed the boss at the top of the volcano (cant remember the name) I've now headed back but trying to level up as much as possible and get my familiars all the gear they need before moving on.

Agree with you on the weapons showing. Also armour and badges ect would be nice touch too.

Moltaan I'm sure it is!

When you first arrive in a new area the rival familiars can be pretty damn powerful. Clubber Cub is an absolute beast.

Yeah it's weird about the weapon not showing, especially since DQ8 on PS2 had weapon and armor showing.

It is even more strange when you look at the level of detail in everything, ah well; You know a game is good if your only complaint is that.

Well now on the second map everything legs it away from me. Just beat the Genie and got my cauldron. I'm currently raising a Little-Bighorn to be my shield and my Mite to be my force.

Little Dew Sprite is unreal. Seriously, in some ways it's more capable magic wise than Oliver!

I've read that Bighorn is usefull but so far it's not really the case for me, he's too slow moving and attacking. I prefer mite or the cat.

I know he's suppose to be helpfull later on since he got big elemental resistance and i'm leveling him also but I didnt had to resort to him until know (~lv.50).

About my game, I'm doing good, getting close to the end. I just found my 2nd awesome exp spot I'm really happy atm, grinding isnt too bad on this game.

And about the weapon not showing I want to add a little something, they dont show on pets however they will change on the main characters.

Yeh I decided to lvl the little big horn so that while my main attacking familiars are recharging I can use him to soak up some hits. I agree he is very slow.

Are you by any chance familiar with VintageBeef? Because his let's play is currently at about the same place and he uses the same familiars. Maybe an interesting coincidence?

I'm at 75 hours, starting the big farming for alchemy + familliar trophy. Finished everything else.
