Thanks guys for being so cooperative about the Z. I will go ahead and update the list

@ Rich S: I will test tonight, see what my lap times are, add enough for a 45-50 minute race. Will probably be between 25 and 30

@ Boshunter: Will add your car. As for the power limit, we are simply using the power limiter in the setup menu. Bringing down the 3HP wont make a big difference (if any)

@ Jay: Thanks for letting me know. Best of luck, and hopefully we will see you next season 👍

Will update first post now with new cars and new people in the official roster. Once I test on tokyo, will update that as well.

when I was testing cars I took a brand new 0mi. Nissan GTR and did an oil change, the HP went from 479 to 503, how is that going to work with your 500hp limit? As the cars break in they will gain a few more HP as well. Just ruling out any HP increasing mods should be sufficient, we sure don't want to have to use that HP limiter to artificially lower the HP if we do an oil change.

We are supposed to use the limiter.

However, boshuter has a point here...

The GT-R goes up to 518 hp in stock trim when fully broken in. The NSX goes up to 504 HP, yet is at least as fast as the GT-R at 518 HP. By limiting all cars to 502 HP, the NSX gets a 2 HP cut while the GT-R gets a 16 HP cut. That will probably be noticeable.

What are others doing?
The WSGTC runs stock, ie NSX at 504, GT-R's at 518. They allow the Lexus to run with Stage 2 turbo which brings it to 524hp for it to be competitive.

The Euro GT500 has a PP based system, with the NSX having the lowest limit at 605PP, GT-R is at 613PP, Lexus at 615PP.

Finding the sweetspot is tough but limiting all cars to 502 HP will definitely render the Lexus too slow (which is why noone picked it) and likely favor the NSX over the GT-R somewhat. Based on the other series it may make sense to set the limit at 522 HP, run the NSX, GT-R and Supra stock and allow Lexus to run with Stage 3 engine upgrade. That way we still have no TURBOs on the track which is the easiest when it comes to monitoring adherence to rules (no turbo gauge in hud).

Thats an interesting idea, one worth trying at during the next preseason race.

Lets see how that works, and we can make changes from there if necessary.

Thanks for bringing it up.

Edit: Do you know what the Stage 3 upgrade brings the Lexus Power up to?

Using the power limiter is you choice, it's your league and your rules. But I think anyone that picks a car that has to be power limited is crazy; the cars have different HP levels for reasons that were determined by the SuperGT sanctioning body. If you require any of them to be limited from their stock HP, they will be at a disadvantage. I just figured the real SuperGT sanctioning body knew more about classing the cars than most of us. Any limiting of the cars from their stock HP/Weight, by power limiting or PP is risky at best, and shouldn't be required to make things level.

The main reason I picked the NSX over one of the GTR's is so I wouldn't have to use the power limiter. :)

^ yeah, thats why we are considering leaving them stock, and boosting the Lexus

Really, I jsut want some good, close racing, at reasonable power levels for the series, how this achieved is not as important.

Just checked my Bandai Lexus w/ Stage 3 engine upgrade and it's at 561 HP not even fully broken in...that's way too high. Looks like the WSGTC route with the Stage 2 turbo for the Lexus would work better. According to the WSGTC thread the Lexus w/ Stage 2 turbo is at 532 HP which still sounds kinda high but if we keep the room limited at 522 it may be just right.

Just thinking out loud here...it'd be nice to see a variety of cars on the track.

Oh really... so by that rationale you should have nothing against the NISMO Z yet you quickly moved to ban it? Hmmm...

Anyway it's just a game, a model of reality at best and it's not perfect. While Polyphony seem to have gotten the balance right between the NSX and the GT-R, the Lexus can't keep up in stock trim, and the Z may be a bit quicker I admit.

In WSGTC, all Lexus are allowed to upgrade to turbo stage 2. It will bring the engine to 538 hp for the Petronas tom's, Eneos and the Denso Dunlop (Not sure about the Direzza). With that much power, it was to fast. So we set the rooms to 532, so the Lexus need to use the powerlimiter to get below. At this HP with maxed aero the Lexus PP is 617. I find it a little bit to fast still. But setting it to 522 would kill it again. Try using the PP instead. At the same PP as in the EURO GT500, 615..

My advice is to either let the lexus run at 532 hp, or set the PP limit to 615 if you really want to split hairs..

Hey I thought you guys were doing that 'only one car' thing. Waiting list still open? The time actually works for me. I can run as a filling when you are short racers. Don't care about points, just love running SGT. PS> I have a triple bill later each Saturday starting in April. Open450@19:00PST, SGT650@21:00PST and LM-C900@23:00PST . thread=193137.

It's a series with little rules other than keep it clean. I don't care if there are 16 Zs on the track, it's a just-have-oraganized-fun-on-a-Saturday-Night thing. Check it out.

Hi all another update

The Lexus: I think WSGT has put a lot of thought into their system (probably the best organized series i've seen on here), so lets go with a stage 2 turbo and a power limit of 532HP for this race, and make any changes as necessary.

MajikTom: You are more than welcome to join, at the moment, you will be on the waiting list. I will specify a time when waiting list members may join the lounge and take up any spots still available. The Z in banned. Feel free to pick any car that we don't have 2 of already.

Hmmm, i'd have to think about that. I personally don't think i'd have to time to host qualifying in such a manner...depending of the showing during the next race, we will see if its necessary to change qualifying.

So let me get this straight, to clarify.

All cars will run with no turbos apart from the Lexus which will have a turbo, boosting it to 535 bhp to bring it to a more competitive range.

Yes that is correct, but they will be limited to 532. This is based off of the WSGT championship. Lets see how it works out, and we can make changes as necessary.

So I'm just thinking here, we already have a couple people on wait list, why not sign up everyone and hold Qualification rounds for the top 16 akin to the process for the GTAuto Lexus IS-F Cup. That's how I'm going to do it for my MajikTom's Saturday Night Race Car Fiesta if I get more than 16 entrants.

stop advertising your league bro :p;)

na,keep everything the way it is....i've been racing in 3 differnt leagues since december and even though there are always 16 people saying they'll be there, just like last week, 12 or so will show....

i've acctually have raced with 16 before....but maybe only 2-3 times, and even then there was no 17th left out

If we are going to do that, I'll run a Lexus; but we really need to know what you are going to do before we pick a car. Just make a decision and say "thats it", no changing things after we get started. Nobody wants to put a lot of time and practice in a car then have someone talk you into changing the rules. I'ts your series, run it the way you want, if someone doesn't like the rules, they can run somewhere else.

You are more than welcome to change to the Lexus. It should be noted that we are still in the testing phase of this series, thus the changes between the last preseason race and the one this Saturday. I am pretty confident that the recent changes will stick and will allow for great close racing. The only changes I can possibly see after this point is a reduction of power if the Lexus is boosted too much (though we are boosting it because at comparable stats, it clearly underperforms). Worst case scenario, we simply lower the overal power level to GT-R levels.

On a different note, who would be interested in a testing session tonight? If there is interest, I will open a lounge tonight. Tokyo definitely needs some practice to get right especially with the lack of run off if you mess up.

I'll just wait until you get the rules set for the cars before I pick one. I assume that after the last preseason race that you will have the rules set? I don't want to pick a car then find that you are going to change things after the season starts. The only way your are going to be able to do this is if you do the car testing yourself. You can't judge a cars performance against other drivers in other cars, just because a Lexus is slow with one guy driving it against other cars with other drivers doesn't mean it's the car thats slow.

I'm interested on any day, I'm available can I still sign up?

I've put you on the waiting list. Please read the first post for instructions on how that will work.

Preseason Race 2 is tomorrow. Just a reminder, I am now on Pacific Daylight Time (-7GMT) so if you are not observing daylight saving time, please plan accordingly. I look forward to some good racing 👍

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask

Go ahead and change my car to the Tom's Petronas SC430 Lexus. I like the way the Lexus handles and with the power evened out, I'll stick with it.

I didn't get a FR yet, are you sending them from your regular account, or the GTP_ account?

Looking forward to RT246 tomorrow 👍

I will send you a FR tonight when I sign on for my other series. Do I have the right PSN on the first post?

Please mark me down for a spot when/if sign ups open again.

Edit: odd he posted above same time I did. However. I am not who he speaks of.

By chance did I get on the reserve list?

Sorry, I forgot I had a PM, with a second user grabbing that car...sorry, trying to juggle a few things right now. If you can't find another car before the race, I can share a Yellowhat Supra with you
