Scotland!
What is it about the Nurburgring that draws everyone in? In my opinion, it's just a 'bit' too long, especially when you have to do multiple laps in a VERY slow car.

it's got everything, fast straights, very technical sections, elevation changes, it's legendary.

Oh hiiiiii Mazerati . Couldn't keep away I see !

How would a new member with 4 posts know who I was referring to ?

Oooops . :sly:

a) I have been on here before, I just decided to register and get more involved.

b) Who can resist looking at the 'banned members' thread.

Think before you speak, sir.👍

Awesome . You have nothing to worry about then in that case ...... :D

the ring challenges all aspects of a car and a driver. You thinking its too long is just another hurdle youll have to take to really try and drive the **** out of it. One of my fav tracks no doubt

I Think the reason I hate dislike it so much is because; When I race my friends online, they insist on The 'Ring, and then go on to add the folowing:

1. Penalties - Strong
2. Time - Night
3. Hp/Weight - A very 'difficult-to-match' set of numbers, which result in me driving something I wouldn't normally touch.

Couple all of that to the fact that I am not a great driver, and you have something worthy of Youtube.:sly:

EDIT: "There's a nice little cafe just down the road."

Eh?

Yeah, but there's too many. that's my criticism.

Yes but its the only track thats "different" every time you drive it, so it cant get boring

Again, I suppose it's all down to preferences. I for example, like Trial Mountain because it has all of the good aspects of The 'Ring (Long straights etc.), but it has them in a number which I enjoy.

I love it because with the right car it becomes more of a great driving road then a race track. People like the heritage and the sense that its a very dangerous track

Drive 8 minutes on Tsukuba and you will have had it, drive 8 minutes on the Nordschleife and you say, next lap better.

Just depends on the time you want to put in it, i actually quite like Tsukuba for when I have only 30'.

tsukuba is probably my next fav track, hunting for .001 is always fun

Tsukuba is actually terrific fun in the Supercar Festival Seasonal. Take a bone stock 490-500PP car with sport softs and do a race. Then check what your average best lap is and tune the suspension, diff, brakes and transmission to see how much faster you are in the second race with that same car. :)

That was quick. He was only here for a few hours. You've got to admit though it was suspicious.

He'll be back next time as MC Quattroporte
Great work from the Mods there for keeping GTP free of non-abiding AUP members . 👍

I've bolded the parts that make you very uncomfortable racing the 'ring.
By the way - The Nordschleife itself is brilliant to drive, but racing (spot the difference?) is a different animal altogether; very few spots you can overtake safely.
You need quite some experience to race the 'ring in the dark, and a car you are uncomfortable with does not help either.

I personally only race the Nordschleife with friends; on pub servers it is too much of a risk of it ending in mayhem.

This.

The ring is basically all I use GT for, I do laps almost everyday it's such a nice drive. But I agree that it would not be fun racing at night, that would suck without being an absolute pro as the tiniest mistake by anyone(which is inevitable) and it's over.

"Sprint Racing" on it is not fun for me as it is narrow for near all of the lap then there is the giant straight, which with the stupid GT tow just makes it all down to an awkward slipstream battle.

you would think Mazerati would be smart enough not to put a mazerati as his profile picture

Fortunately you can set the draft to weak after spec 2 so using draft to pass now demands a good exit from the corner before the straight.
