CMD is right. He did to some good things. But he was other places doing not good things. So, there you go.

It's all OK now. It was aquite an elaborate April Fools joke, that a member decided to take out of control.

LIfe is back to normal, and I'm expecting lots of good videos for the competition. I've seen two really good ones so far and am hoping that this forum can produce more than two.

As it stands, it's a tough choice that you'll all be making for the winner.

So the members of the forum vote on the final 3? What if one of the finalists knows people on the forums, or starts PM'ing people to vote for him? And what if people vote for him just because the think he is cool and don't really look at the movies.

And what if we have Dialup and we have to download the videos !!!!

(I use the word him a lot, that's because girls can't play video games!!!! Just kidding.)

if a contender is caught PMing people about their own video and in any way give away their identity on a certian video, they will be disqualified. If you read the rules, no identification what-so-ever is allowed on the video. And if you have dial-up.. well, that's your problem :)

PS- this section of the forum has a certain "her" that possess skills we fellas respect. So keep the gender jokes to yourself, trust me you don't wanna hear about it from her. ;)

Well, I think you shouldn't be overloaded with just average vids. I mean, you HAVE said it's meant for a "WOW" vid.

By the way, I'm not going to tell you guys of any progress on getting my cap card, cause everything I say doesn't make it, and I have different plans on getting this vid. up EVERY DAY! So it's going to take a while before I get a vid. up for REAL.........

damn I dont think Ill be able to make a vid in time for this one now. Too much RL stuff going on last week and now my skillz are a little off, and of course more RL stuff goin on this week/end too. Im having enough trouble pulling together a vid I already have all the footage for! oh well Im eager to see everyone elses vids :)👍

Man, how ironic, that same exact thing happened to me last Friday. I lost my entire music collection, video editing software, image editing software, website development software, etc. Thank goodness for my backup HD (alhtough I hadn't backed up for a good 5 months 👎.

Dang, what's up with all the HD's crashing?? Hope it doesn't keep you guys from making a video in time, I wanna watch ;) Any updates on the number of vids you've recieved/reviewed, DA?
 
The update is the same as before. I'm really disappointed that this has turned out with such slim participation.

So many people can turn in a halfway decent video, but when something good is offered up, noone wants to go the extra step.

I should probably revise my theory to "Go halfway, or go somewhere." as the two videos that have been submitted are likely the winners. Unless TRi gets his in, then it's a threeway shoot out.

I'm a bit disappointed in the drifters. So much talk, but when it comes to putting up, or shutting up, I get a whole lot of people leaving the room.

Did I not offer a good enough prize? or did I ask for something that was too difficult?

I'd like to open discussion on this as it looks like, with less than 2 weeks to go, I'll not see much more participation.

Seriously. I've seen some pretty good drifting of late and this isn't even totally about "drifting" it's about the production quality of the video. I can think of about 3 members right now that should definetly make an entry. Come on, this is FREE MONEY you're going after. What's not good about that?
 
Yea come on people. This is a chance to show off your drifts in a competitive environment. This is a good experience, I don't understand why people would pass up on it. Turn in something. Well this was suppose to be "give-it-your-all" type video, but turn in something, even if it's half-assed, its better than NOTHING. It's not like DA didn't give us enough time. I, along with a whole lot of people waited patiently to see some awesome videos. Don't disspoint us!
 
If this style of event ever happens again, on a different track, I'll for sure enter a video.

note to sloth: this is not a GTPDC

best looking replay, not the best looking lap. So you can cut/paste some stuff together.
There's just as much to do with editing savvy here as there is with drifting.

I only just decided to read through these posts and now i fond out that its a mixture but leans more to the editing, and there i am tryna get a good series of linking happening ok ill edit my stuff tonite and see wat i come up with.
 
Hmm, this could make things difficult.

My editing is clean, but not overly spectacular.

My area of focus is perfection while drifting.

I can understand the goal of trying to get people to make quality videos, but I'm afraid I might be out-edited.

If you people enjoy watching drift videos, then I'll make an enjoyable drift video.

I don't require a competition to do that. :indiff:
 
Here's the deal, I'm not picking the winner. I'm simply narrowng it down to a few quality choices. The final judging will be done simply by the members of GTPlanet picking which one they liked best. Some will enjoy the editing, some will enjoy the drifting. I've left the rules and regs very relaxed in order to get a wide variety of submissions.

I'm not narrowing the choices simply by editing, I'm judging the entire video.

Enjoyment factor is one of the elements.
