I dont really think i've insulted anybody, but just incase i have by accident, i'll be more careful from now on.

Thanks for the heads up Doug.

I'm generally pretty friendly in here, although I have made a few remarks about meme/F1man. But a lot of people are guilty of that. Although I suppose it's not justified just because everyone else does it.

my opinion of doug demuro is that he should have a better choice in automobiles. he is a clown.

i wasnt name calling - it was my opinion

Now...Opinions can be an insult and still an opinion.

As written in the Cambridge dictionary: An opinion is (one of) the ideas that a person or a group of people have about something or someone, which are based mainly on their feelings and beliefs.

A judgement backed-up by facts.

For instance, mayorbill11 has made my ignore list. In my opinion, he has yet to post a worthwhile note on any topic. His sole purpose seems to be to antagonize and irritate other people into a negative reaction. Look a few posts up on this thread.

This is an opinion, based on his numerous posts that I have read on this forum and others. It is my opinion.

For someone to have an opinion that another person is a waste of air is not wrong. If they have adequate reason why they state it such a way.

So yes, insults hurled at another purpose under the guise of an opinion is wrong, and GTplanet doesn't need that. Opinions discussed and supported with knowledge are always welcome at GTplanet.

you're a moron, imo.
IMHO when you point a finger at someone, three fingers are pointing back at you.
Hmm, does that mean you're three times what you call someone else?  :D

you made that up.

fwiw, i read der alta's posts in every thread, and all of those GT writeups. i don't like making serious posts, i wish people would catch on to that. i don't treat the off topic forum like a damn psychiatrists office for venting people's problems, i like it when people do though, it's something else to joke about.

'worthwhile' posts aren't usually funny.

Right, but if its offensive then the person may take that as an insult

If it's deliberatily offensive it isn't an opinion.

pro-abortion Democrats are outrageously offensive to lots of people, wether or not they try to be.

Originally posted by M5Power I hate people who think they can hide behind the veil of 'expressing an opinion' when insulting another member.
Similarly, I can't stand when people say, "I got yelled at", when what they really mean to say is: "I messed up, and I hate when people tell me to do something properly."

I don't see where this is going, but an opinion is not intended to be insult in most cases, unless you attach Member X's name to the opinion, and if you substituted Member W's name in place of X, and it was still offensive, then you have crossed the line from opinion to insult.

In short, take your trash to the curb, not here.
