Good racing tonight, did a little better that I thought......as long as I was in a slipstream. Had a fantastic battle with Saga for P4 until about 3 laps to go, still managed to bring home a top 5 in a rather strong field though. 👍 Hoping I can do as well on Friday. Congrats to KingsBest on the victory.

Congrats to Owens on the Tuesday title!

Once again, JP and I had an epic battle. He ended up passing me, but he did an awesome job coming back from a spin.

Had fun tonight hope there is another season looming. Congrats to Owens for title.

That was a lot of fun. We were just about dead even in lap times. If I'd thought we had a chance to catch Brandon and Sag I would have settled in behind you to play catch up, but I didn't see us catching them so the game was on!!! Good clean racing too....well done:tup:

Congrats to Owens on the Tuesday title:tup:👍 Yet another extremely close battle for the title, glad to be a part of it again:) Let's not wait 6 months before doing this again...lol. 💡

I almost broke the 2:05 barrier trying to keep ahead of you. I was running times more than a second faster than my qualifying time basically the entire time after my pit stop. I got to the cusp of the draft of Sag and Brandon, but JP simply forced me to make a driver error which started the 3 lap dog fight. I will have some images up on here documenting the awesomeness. We went 2-wide through just about every turn on the track. JP as always made a completely clean pass. I tried my best to give him room when possible while defending my spot with my life. Great job to him for winning the battle. If I have to lose a position battle like that, I know that I lost it to one of the best. 👍

Also, great job Owens for the title. 👍

On another note, could we possibly have another race just for kicks at Motegi oval? That was some of the most fun racing I have been a part of.

Congratulations to OwensRacing on his first ever points championship. The points and results for Tuesday should be updated in the OP, it was a very close race among the top 6 spots and I hope that everyone enjoyed their battles. 👍

I want to plan a post-season event of some kind, 4 weeks was just a little too short and it seemed like it really flew by. I think I'll increase the next season to 5 weeks, should be perfect. Motegi Oval was fun, we could work that in somehow. Perhaps a double-header with a shorter race at the Oval followed by another race at a road course with a reverse grid. I'd like to hold at least one of the events on a Saturday so we can get some of our Euro buddies back on track with us. I kind of have a hankering to run at the Nordschlife, we never run there for points races (for a reason) and I haven't been there in quite some time. I'm open to suggestions though, let's get something fun going to top off our first Silvia season. 👍

Well done Owens 👍 Great job.
What was the top qualifying time? Avg lap time?

I think the ring is okay in a 24hr layout w/o reverse grids. That lets the field spread out a bit before the narrow parts.

There were some grip/connection issues shortly before/during quali. Some people had less time to qualify. So I managed to get the pole with a mere ~2:04.8. KB's pace was under :05s for maybe 5-6 laps of both stints. Somehow I managed the fastest lap though, of about :04.4.
Pit delta in race turned out quite a bit longer than in practice (I plain forgot that PD shortened pits in practice) and came at about 26 seconds.

My evening was a disaster. I had a bit of difficulty early on getting connected, but then everything appeared to stabilise until a few minutes before qualifying. In practice my screen froze as well as the audio; and I had to shut off the console manually to get any response from it. After several attempts I was able to rejoin seconds before the start of the race. The first lap was rough, and whenever I would approach the group of Brandon/Sag/Owens I would experience drastic visual lag. I hung back in attempt to avoid the lag, but then a lap or two later I lost all audio. I tried to pit in twice to see if distancing myself from the group may remedy the issues, but the game did not seem to recognise the action and performed a drive through. Efforts were fruitless, however, as shortly after my screen froze again. At this point the audio returned, but the sound was only of the engine maintained at the RPM which it froze. I eventually was able to rejoin and watch for a bit, until I was disconnected, at which point I gave up the fight.

I wish Owen congratulations on his points victory in the series. Very well done and consistent. I enjoyed the race with you the other evening, and I look forward to driving with you again in the future.

Also, congratulations to KingBest on his race win last night. I wish I could've been there to see it.

Wow, those are some really strange issues Marcus. I hated that you were having trouble but I did include you in the points for the night (small consolation). I've never heard of those kinds of issues before but KingBest was having similar issues (although he was able to stay connected and unfrozen). I saw some small incidents of lag but nothing serious and overall didn't have any real problems myself.

These issues are quite discouraging, in my opinion the game is rather broken after the last two updates and I have my doubts that they'll ever be fixed. I think we'll be lucky to get one or two more updates before they wash their hands of this version and focus solely on GT6. Spec 2.0 and the following couple updates were great and I wish they had just left it at that because the last few updates have caused several issues that don't seem to be getting addressed. It's never been a perfect game but I think it's current state is about the worst it's ever been.

^I had grip issues in practice where you'd brake in a regular spot and the car would overshoot the turn-in point. Then I went to reconnect and couldn't re-join the lounge. Had to reboot the PS3. I did it early enough though so I had some time to spare.
In-race frame rate was pretty bad for half the race, but lap times, thankfully, didn't suffer. In fact I never ran faster than :04.6 before. I think I was missing tire noise though, but in a bumper view in this car I can barely hear it anyway if I balance the game/chat sound levels in a way that makes chat pretty clear.

Kaz's comments about bringing human drama take on a whole new meaning when talking about connection issues. Seems like GT6 will amplify those and make'em randomly affect people to mimic real-life performance problems =)

Thank you guys! Didn't even know I was in the running. LoL usually don't do well in points so wasn't following. That and the racing is so fun each night felt like a win no matter I finished. This is because of all involved providing clean and fun racing.

Thank you all for participating. With out you this series wouldn't be.

I also like the idea of Motegi Oval for a fun next week.

Also would love to get started on the next series as we have a great group.

Thank you Brandon for making ORCA happen.

I thought it was just me or maybe in my head due to my lack of track time, but it seemed to me that when I got close to some drivers I seemed to lose grip. I caught a couple of drivers and then fell back due to lack of grip, caught up, fell back. I thought it was me or losing downforce because of the draft effect. I'd take my normal braking points and overshoot by a few feet, taking me off the race line and onto the marbles.

The "Bug" that was such a big story a while ago has never fully been fixed. They claim to have "improved" it but some of it is still there and can be seen anytime you get a crowded track. However we saw a whole slew of issues last night that we've never really encountered before, at least not all at once like we did last night.

I will say that this track seems to be really bad for aero-push, I'd be going into a corner fine but when I crossed somebody's slipstream my front end would totally wash out. The draft is also very sneaky on this track, the straights aren't long enough to get a super draft which can fool us into thinking we don't have any extra speed when in fact we do. I had this happen to me several times (as Saga and CND's rear bumpers can attest to), thought I was being cautious but would just keep going and bump into whoever was in front of me. I eventually adapted to it but not after a few unsightly bumps. :nervous:

Congrats Owens on Tuesday nights winner. Good job with the series Brandon. Although I wasn't much of a challenge (due to many mistakes) I still enjoyed racing. You guys are just too good.
I also had that braking issue where it wasn't stopping in time. But it was only on the last race of the series where it was really bad.
I'd be up for another motegi oval race as well if there's room.

-Thanks, AC

This describes a bit of what I experienced early on last night.

Also, when the audio was functioning early in the race, it would seem to skip every now and again and I'd hear a burp in the exhaust note at a slightly higher volume/frequency. It almost sounded like the car had an exhaust leak that would pop like clockwork every 4-5 seconds. I'd made sure before joining to clear the internet cache, but I am wondering if there is something else at play. I may try and experiment this evening.

Well done Owens 👍 Great job.

I had problems with brakig for some odd reason and no tire noise at all. So i left and signed off and came back and it was better ran a 4.3 in practice. Then left track went out to qualify and it was right back to brakes being weird and no tire noise. Me and ds were close first stint i finally got around him managed to pull a couple seconds on him before i pit. What did the race in was me pitting a lap earlier than he did. By time pits were all done i had a 6 sec lead and just took it easy rest of race and tried to maintain the same lead.

When was the last time PD servers were down for maintenance? Might be related to the issues we're having.

Probably the last time we had an update which was........I don't know, about a year ago? Seems like it anyway. As far as I know there hasn't been any maintenance since then. They must need to clear their server cache. đź’ˇ

I just looked at the points, and I am not trying to be confrontational or anything but I finished 4th with 57 points by my calculations. The points table shows me in a tie for 5th place with only 50 points. I might be wrong here, but I was just wondering if the table had messed up or something.

My points are wrong too but to me and where am at on the board, it didn't really matter much.

Do you possibly drop the worst round? From some quick mental math, that is the only thing I can determine as to why.

Yes, everybody drops their worst round. The results will show all 4 rounds but the final tally is only of your best 3 results. Sorry for any confusion.

My gut feeling is they have done back side work and we will get a new update soon.

Also what about, GT Prologue servers - maybe these are being used and presenting issues.

Thanks for clearing it up. I was a little confused  Sorry about any other confusion I caused. No worries.

Again could we possibly run a Motegi Oval race next week just for fun? I have never ran an oval with that many cars in that close proximity and had no Daytona 500-like accident happen somewhere during the race.

Congradulations King for the win and Owens for the Tuesday Championship. Motegi and me had this love hate thing going on last night and she fought me to the very end . Was able to pull my fastest lap in the race, but i wont post the time....just too embarrassing when compared to the rest of the group. Still had a blast though and I will try again Friday. Also would like to thank Brandon for putting in the work for this series. Nicely done!! Here's to all

They have definitely worked my backside. Haha.

Today it seems the console will not read the disc, so my console may have been my problem. I will see if it is possible to rectify these issues.

Time for SSD?
I hear it cuts quite a bit off the load times, which annoy the hell out of me lately.
