Solid State Drive. It can halve load times for some tracks, and since PS3 is pretty old by now, older drives are more than enough, hence could be bought pretty cheap.

They have definitely worked my backside. Haha.

Today it seems the console will not read the disc, so my console may have been my problem. I will see if it is possible to rectify these issues.

Try cleaning the disk first, when mine started acting funny that fixed it.

That is a wonderful idea. I never understood why with such large hard drives available there was no way to load the entire game onto the console and save the wear on the disc and drive.

I have cleaned it with canned air in the past, but I will try cleaning the disc now. It appears to be clean but perhaps there is a film on the surface that is uniform.

Sadly, this is not gonna replace the DVD-ROM part. It's a faster replacement to the hard drive.

I can only assume magnetism provided such a specific pattern. I have gotten the game to load. In a short while I will try and hop in the room and try it out. Smoke break first.

Haha! It worked all evening and now I'm frozen on the track in the same spot I was when the timer ran out the final race! Well, it worked when I needed it to for the night.

Anyway, Owen, I'm sorry for the bump T1-2 on the final lap. Very well driven race and well deserved win.

Great time driving with everyone this evening. I am still working on my ability in traffic, and I'm learning a little bit each time with you folks. Thank you guys a lot.

I've had something else pop up tonight, not sure if I'll be able to get on GT5 or not. If I do it won't be until later tonight. Feel free to use the lounge though, just clean up after yourself please. It took me two hours to clean up all the roaches and dog poop that Marcus and Owens left last night. :crazy:

That's a good pace. I think you'll find in the race it'll be even faster as you respond to the pace of the field, but even still that's not too bad a pace.

In a couple practice races with a few ORCA drivers the night before most of field were running 05s and dipping into the 04s. They were skip drafting occasionally so figured that's where some of those 2 secs were coming from but one guy was hitting 05s with no draft. Tonight oughta be interesting. My main concern is to not interfere with anyone going for a championship position.

JP is right, my practice PB's are right in line with yours, never broke out of the 06's but in the race I had several 05 laps even without a draft. The key to this track seems to be staying close to someone, once I lost touch with Saga for the final two laps my times went up and the rest of the field quickly started gaining on me. One more lap and I would have lost two spots.
 
How has friday attendance been? Ill probably be around to race tonight if theres room.
 
It's been average, don't think we've had more than 8 or 9 so there should be plenty of room for you. 👍
 
I may or may not be racing because of the football game tonight.

The ORCA_Champ lounge is open for the season finale pre-race practice. Qualifying will begin at 10pm EDT sharp.
 
I may step in for a few laps of practice, but I will have to leave before the race will begin.

Well done Owen, great pace. After that pit stop you killed us.
I was having an EPIC race for 2nd for 22 laps, it was going to be a great battle for the line but then things just got stupid 👎. All I will say here.

Really like this car and it makes for great racing, can't wait to see it again.
