I'll be gone all weekend but good luck with the test.👍
Now when I'm practicing with traffic I will have the increased speed associated with the draft and will also be susceptible to the aero push associated with the draft.
Thanks DW...![]()
Why the insult?!?!Them's bordering on fightin' words bro!
Aero push is a very real thing in this game, once I realized what it was and that it exists I was able to improve my performance and minimize mistakes that I thought were "random".
BrandonW77^ Ya know, as many DW references as you make.........I'm starting to think you're closet NASCAR far.![]()
Going snow-shoe shopping for the impending Canuck winter?![]()
(kidding!)
Typical American...doesn't realize we all have several pairs already![]()
^ Uh-huh......likely story HillJack!!![]()
I can't argue that. Here's my home town......both sad and hilarious.
With this new tire wear, pitting is most likely out of the picture. Which will probably change everyone's way of racing. Anyone think it's a good thing or bad thing? Personally, I liked that we needed to pit (most of the times).
Not saying we should pit. Just saying it involved more strategy.
BrandonW77I want pitstops to be part of the race and I was concerned that the new tire wear would cause pitstops to be unnecessary. A 45 minute race without pitstops can get boring and tedious, but with a pitstop it breaks things up and adds a (tiny) bit of strategy to the picture, give us all a little something extra to think about while we're racing. But people seem to be opposed to a mandatory pitstop which is why I didn't make them mandatory last season, but it mostly worked out that they were necessary and I think it added a lot of excitement to the racing. Now, I'm not so sure.
DragonwhiskyI know most of you are looking for performance realism with tire choice. Seems to me, if you want pit stops to be necessary without stating they are mandatory, you will have to use a tire that won't last the length of the race, regardless of its traction factors.

torzillawhat about requiring everyone to pullover mid-race, shotgun a four loko and get back to driving again. This will be way more effective than a pit stop.

I agree, but at some point we would be sacrificing control for tire wear and I'm not willing to do that. We'd probably have to go to at least Sports Hard to have tire wear that would make a pitstop necessary and at that point the car would enough harder to control that the racing would not be as good as it was last season. I would rather have a good handling/racing car with no pitstops than a poor handling/racing car with pitstops. 👍
Don't sports hards last longer than sports softs?
I think we would need to add racing soft or something (please don't).
I'm guessing he meant to say 'racing hards last longer than sport softs'. Otherwise what he's saying does not make sense to me.You're correct, although less grip would mean more sliding which could increase tire wear. We probably would have to switch to racing compound to get the desired tire wear but those make the car way too easy to drive, almost feels sterile and oversteer is almost impossible.......so we won't be going that route.

I haven't tried the racing hard tires after the update.
