Gosh... Well i have a good 100 plastic WalMart bags just lying around. I would be happy to send em to yall. :p

We get plastic most often here, paper sometimes when we get 2 liter sodas or for projects....mostly plastic though.

Here, we have to ask for paper if we want it... but I never do.

I think charging a small fee for plastic would be good for the environment but only if you had a choice to take paper for free.

I think they charge because "back in the day" before super markets people would bring their own bags to the market. So, like any good merchant, they rip the customer for all their worth.

I think there should be a tax on most things, grocery bags included, because of the landfill issues associated with them. People would start bringing their own bags, baskets, and carts to stores. Of course, that would cause some security problems and most stores would either pay the tax for bags or provide custom bags for rental or purchase.

But the three Rs are very important. Recycle, Reuse, Renew.

Well we only get plastic bags. I think I would use paper if I could. I would also be quite happy to use these hard plastic crates, and keep them in the car, but the only supermarket near us that does them is rubbish, so we don't go there.

In NZ theres a place called Pack n Save cool eh. It's really cheap because you do all the packing yourself and you don't have to buy bags, you bring boxes from home. Pretty dumb really.

When my mum goes shopping at the local supermarket all they do is rip off a plastic bag off a huge wod of plastic tungle.

here in Australia they are giving away plastic sometimes you get 1 item per bag .. but after reading some of the posts here i might save them up a and ship them to you guys .. sounds like a good buisness venture to me
