Patch 1.12 introduces new bug.

It may have something to do with the Jeff Gordon racing suit, which my Bob was wearing when I posted the above but which my other Bob is not wearing and has no problems.

Poor Bob. Was waiting for ages, hearing rumor of an existing Stig suit somewhere out there on teh internets. He then hears a seasonal event comes and the main price is a racing suit worn by a famous race car driver ... ears shut down ... he closes his eyes .. and a picture of Stigs helmet fills his inner eyes ... Bob smiles .... :D

Teh prize arrives and he rushes to the inventory ... just to ...... ..eehhh Jeff? Who is this %&¤&%¤# Jeff anyway, and whhyyyy is the suit black???!!!! :banghead:

Again: not on my game. It was working normally up until 9:30pm EDT last night.

The patch 1.12 hit ~10:00pm and then i started having this issue.

People like you just disgust me. PD is working their asses off, without charging you anything, to make the game better for all of us and you still treat them like this? If the game is so crap why did you buy it in the 1st place? Geez stop already people

Actually, I just started another Dream Car Championship set, and this time it is working, so now I need to do some more testing.

Hmmm...Jeff Gordon racing suit...Turning slightly left all the time... perhaps this was intentional?

the new bug is kinda annoying but hopefully it will become fixed in time.

Yeah it happens but the solution is a quick, probably half-second tap of the right d-pad button. Not annoying.

A bit harsh don't you think? We all paid our money to PD and yes they update free of charge but if it wasn't broken in the first place there would be no need for a patch.

What might seem just petty to you could be quite irritating to others and I think your comments at the poster are a bit OTT 👍

slower than bob
Not on my game.

I scroll through horns, paints, cars every day for trading purposes and it was definitely not there before 1.12.

Well, I experienced it while browsing my garage, and I haven't updated to 1.12 yet.

Wow. The PD apologize-rs are sad. All that is tremendously wrong with this game just gets a smile and an excuse from them every time. Lost in the sauce is the fact that PD did not sell us what was promised nor a finished product so therefore charging for the patches/updates would be wholly unethical. Just as unethical as selling to the public an incomplete product that isn't as advertised. But its PD and Kaz so its ok La La La La bunnies and kittens. PD at this point most of us are along for this ride as we bought the game. Just please for crying out loud play test your patches BEFORE you release them. With each update bug you just keep us reliving your failures with this game.

I have the same problem with the cursor jumping to the left every 30-50 cars. It happens in every menu. I can tell you this with 110% surety this is a result of the 1.12 patch. I just finished scrolling to find a car just a few hours ago and this bug wasnt there. Immediately after installing 1.12 I went to chose a car and BAM bug appeared. At least on my PS3 this bug appeared after the 1.12 patch.

The scroll to the left thing is new, at least for me. And while it's not so irritating on cars, it is quite irritating when scrolling through my 1300 paint chips.

I've had this bug since 1.11 at least, but is it really a game breaker? No. Do I really notice it? No. Am I going to go and play GT5? YES

BTW if you breifly pause every few seconds while scrolling down it stops the cursor jumping away.

It is definitely a product of patch 1.12. Recently in the last couple weeks when I had some extra time, I was going through my cars and changing the paint on alot of them. I have around 650 paint chips right now, and I used to be able to scroll through as many as I want while holding the down button on the directional pad on my DS3. Now the cursor jumps to the left like others stated after about the 30th paint chip.

It is actually quite annoying. It is not a game breaker by an means, but that doesn't mean it's not freaking annoying. And the most annoying thing is that PD keeps releasing patch after patch, to fix bugs and whatnot, but with each new patch, comes more new bugs that weren't there before. It's an endless annoying frustrating cycle it seems.

I mean I love the GT series, have been a fan since day one when the first Gran Turismo was released on the original Playstation. Played and enjoyed every GT game since then. So with GT5, it's not specifically a certain new bug, like this one about the cursor jumping to the left, that is frustrating me, but every time a new patch is released, there's more bugs that are introduced, which means that PD has to spend more time, and release patch after patch just to fix them.

That is what is really bugging me(pun intended). To me, I think all hope is lost with this game anymore. I mean I still play it and enjoy racing, but it just seems like it's stuck in a ditch and no amount of horsepower or torque is enough to pull it out. I hate to say it but Forza 4 is looking really good right now, alot more user friendly and like the developers are actually implementing features and things that make sense and would make the game more fun.

Unless PD blows us away with some really cool new features in the next couple patches, without adding any more bugs that will require more patches to fix, then I think I may end up taking the big suicidal leap and buy that other console to try Forza 4....

Its no where near as bad as eariler bugs....
My advice: Stop complaining and go spend less time in the garage. Or if it bothers you, go and get out of the garage and menus and race.

Really?

If your mechanic fixed your brake lights for free... but in the process mucked up your turn signals so left=right and vice versa..would you complain?

I noted the problem was small but annoying and that's all.

Cheers bro! :)

This bug , jumping cursor came with 1.11 .
From the start of 1.11 I have been scrolling ALOT for my research on the new thread I posted recently.

MadMax

I just found 2 new bugs in offline practice mode.

1st. If you hit the pause button, the menu won't show up.

2nd. The pit stop is broken. You can do whatever you want with your car in the pit lane because the car just won't pit.

I think version 1.11/1.12 introduce more bugs rather than fixing it.

The cursor bug appeared with patch 1.11...

(Havent installed 1.12 yet) and it IS annoying !

There are even more bugs in the game which I hoped to be fixed with 1.11 (They called the patch a BUG FIX) but they are NOT.

And regarding patches: They are made for only one reason:

They want our money AGAIN.

How so, when the patches don't cost anything? I don't follow.

I've only just noticed the "jumping" bug when scrolling but assumed it was there before and I hadn't noticed it, now I guess not though.

Not gonna bash the game but I really hope someone a little more dedicated works on the whole UI for GT6 as it's always had this weirdness with selecting things and moving the cursor about. The garage menus and lists are just so clunky you often end up "circling" the option you want because it's not clear if you need to press left, or down, or whatever.

It's never been a deal breaker for me but GT menus have always been "unique" to say the least, and you have to ask yourself why other games seem to stick to systems that are a sight clearer, and smoother.

For whatever reason, PD keep implementing menu systems that would be absolutely flawless with a mouse but are a torture if you have a controller.

I wish they would return to the GT3 menu system, because that one was quite well set-up.

Yeah good point, would be find with a mouse and a free-moving pointer. Perhaps with their dev kits they use a mouse for the most part and overlook to test how it all works with a DS3 or wheel...d'oh

You guys do realize whenever you change the code in the game to fix a bug it always opens up another bug? Some bugs go unnoticed and some dont. This is not a major bug just please stop whining and play a great game like GT5

what the hell PD?
Honestly do you have any programming experience? With one bug fix might bring another bug because of a code change. Its not just a simple thing of changing a piece of code and everything is perfect. There is thousands if not millions lines of code in GT5 and some parts of code are linked to each other so if that line of code is changed then something else will get changed along with it. You should learn how software coding is done before flaming PD.

Perhaps PD, a supposedly professional software company, should learn something about coding, themselves...hmmm?

How about PD finally getting an actual functioning quality control division and play test their games, patches, updates etc BEFORE releasing them to public? That way you and others wont have to keep ever vigilant apologizing for them in every thread:sly:

Completely agree with Snake

Anyone else notice that you can't get replays from the 2 player split screen mode in arcade now? I used to use it a lot for multi-car photos and direct sector comparison tests but the usual "would you like to save a replay" prompt has now gone and goes straight to the "would you like to race again" prompt.
Not a happy bunny!

I cant remember apologising for PD. I just pointed out a fact. I cant remember one game in the past four years that was bug free even after being patched up to ten or more times.

I've noticed the cursor jumping over to the left too. I haven't upgraded to 1.12 yet, but it didn't happen with 1.10
