Am I missing something? It just says maintenance.
Maintenance does not equal patches. The most I can see happening is maybe some hotfixes for glitches.

dude.

The first one is bug fixes, the second one is DLC, and the third one is when everyone is forced offline while Yamauchi let's you drive around his SLS AMG. This has been discussed.
 
Or it could just be something else like switching over servers to newer/more ones to avoid the dissconections we have been getting??.


Or it could be not even really connected to the game, they might just have to be doing a software update for servers, or their computers or something.

Look, I guess I should've said this... All patches have been preceded by a maintenance notice. Kaz has tweeted that there will be a patch by the end of this month. One of these downtimes is the patch. They are all labeled the same. So they must all be patches!

The first one is bug fixes and second one seems to be the Jeff Gordon event. Two more in September. Looks like good stuff is happening in GT-Land to me!

On a slightly more disappointing note, if they are changes, one of them could be resetting the seasonal events to not be x3 exp and credits.

Eww ya thats right....too bad Im at work. Should be on grinding a little to max out my credits. Sitting at only 12mil right now.
 
Jeff Gordon Seasonal? That means maybe a Red Bull Vettel, Loeb and Top Gear Seasonal? And a Top Gear Seasonal would be one in the eye for Forza...

To be honest what they could have done was patched them into the respective special events for them as prizes, to be honest. As extra prizes for golding the challenges of theirs (not S.Vettel though, that should come with the X2010 as a bronze prize). Loeb's should come with his WRC, Gordon's with the NASCAR ticket and Top Gear with the Intermediate challenge (because winning it in a race with Kubelwagens and Schwimmwagens is kinda weird, even with the bonus XFR you get).
 
Random idea!

Maybe the Drivers' clubs will be a kind of private ladder for people to enter. People can race in their respective club and gain or lose points on the ladder. Longer and more difficult races affect each Driver's rating more!

Clubs can be left by all players and recreated for new championships! I hope we'll see something like this.
 
you can expect patches ye but there most likely will be some small updates of content as well. as we said in a separate thread .

Maintenance probably means to repair or improve the server infrastructure, therefore improving the network environment. Or, that's what I think the purpose of it is.by (elitedriver123)

ye thats most likely i heard rumors of "more" servers actually but thats also like 25 hours of down time scheduled so mybe theres atleast some upgrades and fixes planned also . by me!

I agree these should be patched into the game, but I prefer the idea of having these prizes as additional events.

I'd like to see more "special events" added as opposed to "seasonal events". I mean, why are these "seasonal events"? What is "seasonal" about them? Most of the "seasonal events" aren't really in need of an online connection at all, could and should be patched into the game as additional "special events". I'm sure people who don't have an internet connection to their PS3 would agree. I'd have expected "seasonal events" to be more along the lines of being time-trial related where perhaps some celebrity figure(s) could be gifted a PS3 + GT5 on a commitment basis where they'd run a month-long stint at setting & improving their own best time up against the public. I'm sure Sony could find a few celebs to spare a few hours in a month to sit and have a go at setting & improving their own best lap time, even if it's L.Ordonez, other GT Academy winners or KY himself. Naturally I'd prefer to see S.Loeb / S.Vettel / Stig / S.Schmidt / D.Coulthard types run this sort of challenge but with GT5 - we'll take all we can get.
