I'm going to start the PD Cup in Professional League soon, but I can't decide which car to use. What car did you guys use for it? I want something that will guarantee a victory, but won't be overkill. Thanks.

Anything with 300Bhp+ will win without much trouble, the key is pit strategy. Put hard tires on, your main rivel might well be a Corvette Z06 which depending on the car you use will leave for dust at first, but it will pit every 3 laps and won't be a problem.

Try a Vauxhall VX220/Opel Speedster. You'll win, but not by much.

The Lotus 350, The Ruf RGT, TVR SPeed Six, Ford Mustang, Corvette ZO6

And that's just to name a few.

Perhaps my funnest run at the PD cup was in a Stock, "Strait out of the box", no oil or tire change, Lotus Esprit V8 SE.

First time around, I ran it with a Z06 on t2's and it was no problem. Then, did it again in an NSX-R on t2's without pitting, which was also no big trick. I'm about to give it another try in an NSX S-Zero in my new game. Each time around, I had the Skyline R34 as the main competition, but he pits around lap 5 (I think).

I completed that series the first time with a TVR Speed Six on normal tires, not knowing at that point that different tires were allowed,

Most recently I used the 400R on Super Slicks. I prefer racing-drift to pure grip, so the tires worked well for me. I didnt pit once throughout the whole series and won each race by at least 40 seconds

If I do it again, I'd like to try using Clio Sport, or the Speedster (Thanks for the idea Famine). I enjoy underwhelming the competition. :D

I'd also be curious to see how the Trueno SS fares in that series, but I'd have to start the game over (i gave mine a weight reduction :irked: )

My goal with this series is to eventually find a FF car that can defeat it. But I'd have to have a hella lot of luck on my side to do this, and I've had no such luck yet. :(
If anyone has, I'd be interested to hear about it.

Well, I've managed a very enjoyable run in the Lotus Elise 190. Smooth driving and easy on the throttle. Under 200hp and I managed it. Oops... Edit, I did it in a Tommy Kaira ZZS and as and additional Mustang-Man did it in a Tommy Kaira ZZS.

I honestly don't think there is an FF car that can do it. Although echo's go off about someone attempting it.

Good luck.

Didn't Famine attempt that in an Integra??? I thought he mentioned something about that :odd:

You're right, It was Famine and he attempted it an Integra. I've now idea where the results are though.

Ya, that's what I've been trying, is the Integra (Honda, not Acura).

It can hold it's own in the corners just fine, but it really loses out down the straights. I usually find myself battling the R33 for 3rd place finishes for the first 3 or 4 races.
(this is usually the point at which I turn off the PS2 and start breaking things)

I dont have to race beyond that, its almost a mathematical impossibility for me to win the series by that point, seeing as how the Z always places first. :irked:

I'm gonna keep trying though, I only have to be lucky once.

Looks like Ifrit has pummeled your summon. . . summoner

And i summon...Rikku. Let her dazzle you with her thong straps!!

I've been wondering..is that the last one at the end of Pro? cause mine is a question mark..how do i race it?

THe last race that is obscured is the F1 race. You need your super license to unlock it.

Back to the PD cup....does anyone know if the game keeps track of the AI's oil? I just motivated myself to spend half an hour doing the Trial Mtn. 2 course in my NSX-S, and I lapped everyone cept the 350Z. I got past the R33 at the end of the hairpin before the back straight (on ice cold, rock hard tires), then the Z got up to 3.5 sec's behind me, then fell off. But anyway....it was really easy, and I know that I'm going to lose some of my 300 hp when my oil burns off. Will it get any more interesting by the end of the series?

I really can not stress enough that if you want a garunteed victory that will be won in a fun car to drive, run the RGT.

In the right hands, with hard tires, it is overkill.
But you can go have fun with it, and trust me, that car will carry you through every race you would ask any road car to win, so go get an rgt and have a ball. ;)

I havn't done this championship yes, but I will after I do the Trial mountain enduro. I'm going to use the 350Z for the Trial mountain enduro and the polyphony digital cup. Anyone have suggestion's on what tyres I should use?:)

What tyres? I attempted this and every car wiped the floor with me on the backstraight of TMII.

Use the Corvette GS for a tight series. I bought one straight from the dealer and threw on some racing slicks, gave it an oil change, and it made for a very interesting 10 race series. I was able to win most of the races by about 20 seconds normally, although it was not unusual to have less than a 10 second victory over the 350Z. Great fun, especially when you wind up getting a F094/S :p

The AI do not have an oil problem. At the end of each race, they get a new car.

IT's been checked out via replay on the PS2, as well as downloading the AI car via sharkport, and examining it via MK's utility.

I wonder why.I used the Zonda and won the races with Extreme ease.

I have used a RX-8, Vantage, Toyota GT-One Road Car (Best Car) and the TVR Tuscan Speed Six. The most fun was the RX-8. The Vantage was second.

I imagine the Speed 12 TVR, and the Nissan GT1 Road Car will also do nicely.

I plan to use the GT40 stree car next. I never really used this car much, before. I want to give it a shot at least once before GT4.

I had a grand old time in a Mustang R on T2s. I touched 5th gear for exactly 2 seconds on each lap at R246; otherwise I never made it out of 4th for the rest of the series. It was a good enjoyable run.

So did I but a stock Zonda is HORRIBLE to drive.

bah, all these people using the R390, Speed 12 and GT-One Road Cars.

It takes all the enjoyment out of the game, outclassing the competition like that.

What tyres did you use? If you put softer tyres on the front to the rear you won't have a problem handling wise.
