And if you use the "smaller" Zonda, you'll find that it handles a lot better than the C12s.

It takes all the enjoyment out of the game, outclassing the competition like that.

Right.
I had done it with a Speed 12 because I wanted to win the cup on my first attempt.
Would I have to do it again I would choose a TVR Griffith. Its 340hp is higher than the average opponent (usually 276hp except the Jag' and the 'Stang) so I should win the cup but not too easily.

Damn, couldn't do it. I didn't know this car had semi-racing parts already installed.

THe Zonda was one of my prime candidates for the "Strait out of the Box" series that I ran. Even with normal tires and no oil change, it was simply overkill on the competition. IT's actually quite a nice car to drive, if you realize that it doesn't like snap inputs of the steering. Very smooth and easy inputs will give you a much better time than trying to force the car around a track.

The only modifications allowed in the PD Cup are tires and oil. Either way, the RGT will slap the competition silly. Even the 3400S would probably be too much.

I understand wanting to make sure you win. But even in the fastest cars, the PD Cup takes around 3 hours to run. Why waste that time sightseeing as you breeze around the track in a supercar? The roadside graphics aren't that interesting. Make it a race worth fighting for.

You can't. When you win it, it's already modifed with a spot exhaust making it ineligable.

I like using the CTR2. Total overkill, but I just like driving it.

normal cars only...but whatever...i guess you've never ran the series

Maybe you should reread post #34.

That's why I wanted to use the GT40 road car; it's a hoot to drive. :D

I don't want to. I'm not listening. Nyah nyah nyah nyah. :D

What's a "spot" exhaust anyway?

I've run it before. I won first try. I just forgot that the only mods you can do are tires and oil. :dopey:

That holds true though. Considering you go up against RX7's and Evo's. All those types of cars

I've run the race about four times now.
1st: Aston Martin DB7 Vantage Coupe - Basically overkill as far as i can remember.
2nd: Lotus Esprit 350 - I think it was pretty easy with this too.
3rd: Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec (R33) - This was a bit of a challenge as far as i can remember.
4th: Tommy Kaira ZZ-S - Surprisingly i don't think that this was that hard. Got whooped every straight but flew past them in the corners.

I'm thinking of doing it a fifth time in a R32 GT-R. (tried the GTS-t but it just doesn't have the power) I'm still going to look at different cars but the Godzilla is looking promising at the moment. :)

In those four times i did the series i won every single race if my memory serves me correct.

I've just about finished winning this series in a Honda S2000 - big tyre wear advantage.

I doubt a FF car can win it - they're simply too hard on their front tyres.

I won easily with the Lotus Esprit V8 despite picking too soft tyres.
I also tested an Evo after someone round here suggested it but I found it to difficult for me:O, the Elise motorsport again not fast enough for all round wins for me but a possible fun drive.

IF you have the right field (no Z Concept, lead car is the T7ed Corvette, no Mustang or Elise 190 for preference) you can win the series with the Honda Integra Type-R. You won't win all of the races though.

I gave this a run last night in the Toyota MR2 GT-S(On T4's). I had attained 2nd place by the start of lap 5 (The Z being 8 seconds out in first place), and then gave up when the Skyline rode me around the freejack chicane, and dumped me into the outside wall. I was subsequently slammed by all 3 of the following cars, leaving me a few seconds off the last place.

Frustrated I shut it down. At this point, I'm split on my ability to win this. I'll have another go at it, and maybe try T2 tires.

The MR-2 GT-S has a very poor PWR. I don't think it's possible (for me) to win the series - and possibly not even a race - with it.

I just tried a 200SX and got my arse handed to me on a plate. :( The Silvia Spec R should be capable of winning it

I've won races in the Silvia it's quite a capable car

Tried it on T2's. The left rear was toast by lap 17. I was running in the 1'40's but the last 4 laps were 43, 44, 49(!) & 45. You would need to get a race with no Z concept in it.

The R32 GT-R is a good car to race the PD cup in. I've just got GVSII and Tokyo II to do now and i'm on top with 76 points. Which race did i not win? Wait a couple of days until i get my writeup written up. :p

I will say that on some tracks the racing is close and others the GT-R just totally dominates. (Godzilla!)

The race organisers restricted the HP to 300 (from 322) but i'm still winning! :D

Racing against 350Z, Elise 190, Supra RZ, Impreza 22B and Corvette Grand Sport.

Will hopefully have the writeup online here by Friday.
