Hi! I want the photorealistic graphics just like Driveclub. You should hire graphics from Evolution.

Hate to break it to you, but while Driveclub is quite good looking, we're not there yet as far as photorealism is concerned.

We still need a much larger poly bugget, more detailed textures, and lighting techniques such as raytracing to be employable in real time with low noise.

And those are just the technical limitations, there are plenty of aesthetic hurdles to achieving photorealism too.

But aside from all that, I have no doubts in my mind that GT7 will be one sharp looking game... ignoring any potential standards that may or may not be present. I think Polyphony will have no problem one-upping Driveclub in the graphics department.

In all honesty DC is not what I'd call photorealistic, it's quite stylized and I can easily tell it's a game. Some of the better photo mode shots from GT5/6 managed to fool me though.

^ Agreed.

Though I'd argue that a lot of games, particularly racing games, strive for photorealism but just fall short in the aesthetics department. Achieving convincingly photorealistic aesthetics is a lot of work, it's not simply a matter of just choosing between a stylized or realistic look. As such, I'm not sure that DC was actually intended to be stylized, or whether it's a half-assed attempt at photorealism.

DC is a beautiful game, but I don't think it's an example GT7 should follow.
