i think i will stay neutral for now, but i think it is painfully obvious that this is predominately an anti-cheating/anti-piracy forum.. whether keeno is a new member and did not know this or not i do not know, but it seems like he has been 'flamed' enough for AT LEAST two threads .. personally i think we should agree to disagree, if you know what i mean... know matter what anyone says on some message board on the internet they are not going to change the opinions of anyone else who is obviously very set in their ways...

for anyone who cares when i was younger i collected wooden pencils (i collected all kinds of ****) and i was going to buy one from a store and put it in my pocked and accidentally walked out with it.. when we got into another store (a clothing store) i realized what i had done, got scared, and threw the pencil in the middle of a clothes rack (those ones with the space in the middle where you used to hide when you were little ).. i believe that is my only encounter with cleptomania

2) milefile does want to talk about piracy, he just doesn't want to agree with piracy. Neither do I. If keeno_UK didn't want to be criticized about being a thief, he shouldn't have started a thread about loving software piracy. It's as simple as that. As soon as he posted it on a public forum, he opened himself for criticism. He's got no right to be upset about it and neither do you. That has nothing to do with my status as a moderator, either.

Are you all so niaive as to think that prices for games are high because of piracy?

Prices are high because demand is high. They (manufacturers) have to recoup the cost of the loss on consoles sales (you didn't think Sony and Microsoft were really taking that loss did you?) through licencing fees from the games developers. Especially now they have to sell them so cheap because of the console war.

Want proof, then think on this.....Anyone remember the N64 cartridge system? You couln't pirate those (ok not easily) but the prices were still high. Then go take a look at the price of Gameboy games, they're in the next shelf in walmart / woolworths / game etc.

And while your all screaming about this bit of piracy..... just dl a few more tunes on kazaa and chill out a bit. Then go browse for the company accounts of these software giants. And don't bleat on about the little guys being put out of business, they just get bought by their competitors or squeezed out of the market by the big guys.

can't we all just get along? yes keeno and many others buy/play pirated games but does that make them bad people? i dont think so.. i'm sure everyone knows people that steal/have stolen but that doesn't make them any less of a person, you just make sure you dont leave your wallet laying around when they're over

No. Not bad people. But making a thread and boasting about it calls into question one's intelligence and is an invitation for criticism. Why else would the thread even be started? What else would people say?
