I am quite disapointed in Sony. I mean, the shown games are looking very good. The graphical jump just looks like expected it to be.

But in my eyes, Microsoft will deliver a better presentation with ease. Showing all the games so early might not have been such a good idea. Killzone wont have the wow effect at E3 anymore, because we then already saw stuff like this back in february.

I hope they will have a bit more for us at E3. Otherwise I am not very confident in the line up against Microsoft. It is just sad, when you see that they fail at the little things.

Drive Club doesnt look that much better than other racing titles at the moment. And when Sony will postpone GT6 in late 2014, they will let Turn 10 gather racing fans with FM 5 just so.

This isn't even all the games that will be shown throughout the year. And what we saw of the games thus far shown wasn't even substantial. More footage and info on this would "wow" any crowd.

I mean, I think you are jumping on the Deby downer train way too early, bro.

Just a question.

You say that Microsoft will deliver a Better presentation but where do you get that idea from?

From the many previous E3 conferences? If you leave the motion gaming out, Microsoft did a better show most of the time.

I am not saying that their games or products are better, but they know how to present them and sell them to the consumers. Sony has god ideas and games, but they have no clue about marketing and presentation.

I am maybe a bit early with my negative thoughts, but last night just confirmed my view about Sony, that have been formed over the last years.

Kotaku pretty much summarize the whole thing.

Seeing as you know so much could you enlighten us. What is in Microsofts line up?

Thanks for that ill do some research from previous e3 shows.

I unfortunately haven't seen much in the way of E3.

I think Microsoft is just as good at putting together a presentation, not any better or worse
They'll bring celebrities though, so that makes it better right?
"What do you think of the Kinect 2 Jack Black?
"Kumenya yayha!
👍

Btw i dodge bullet this time, hundred bucks stays in my pocket. :) No machinery no specification no release date just nothing.

Hold on you said...

I would be stunned if sony announce today their new game console, which ever is going to be named PS4 or Orbis. As they stated few weeks earlier that sony will not announce PS4 before Microsoft announces new Xbox.

I'm betting 100$ that won't be today. If that's true so what is going on with all those History lessons on their videos? ohhhh this pressure! :grumpy:

...we got specs, we got a release window, but most importantly we got the announcement of a new console. Best crack open your wallet.

:)

While I would certainly agree that historically MS have managed to put together better product launches, I don't agree that Sony messed this one up from a Marketing point of view.

The issues they had leveled at them from the PS3 launch event was that they focused only on the machine and its specs, not what you could do with it or play on it, and they took a lot of flak (quite rightly) for that. This time the focus has been almost exclusively on the what you can do and play on it, from that point of view its a major step in the right direction and now allows them to drip feed info up to E3. Its worth keeping in mind that every time people talk and speculate about what the PS4 will look like, that's the marketing working, from announcement to launch its all about building and maintaining interest and from that point of veiw they have certainly got my attention.

MS - now its your turn.

I only know that Forza Motorsport 5 will shown for sure. The rest is just rumours and so on. I think that third party will be strong again. Like BF4, CoD, NFS, and more.

Well, it is just my personal point of view.

Hardware looks pretty decent and I actually like the controller more than I thought I would. 👍

Kinda glad they didn't use the Cell this time around. Sure it's a powerful CPU but (in my opinion) there just wasn't enough developers taking advantage of it, hence why 95% of my multi-platform games are on Xbox 360. Now I believe they're using a chip more similar to PC architecture so hopefully developing for PlayStation 4 isn't as difficult as it was with PlayStation 3.

Still though, a while back I saw rumors pointing to an 8-Core Cell processor with 128 SPEs...that's alot of power if you ask me.

Well I left watching the presentation feeling happy that the future of playstation is going great guns. My prediction of Gakai being used as a streaming service for past titles was all but confirmed. The graphical power on show was nice, and I'm happy the showed off some quirky indie titles.

Personally I can't wait to see what is shown off now at E3, Gamescon & TGS I'm sure the games we will see are going to be great.

So I don't want to dredge through the last god knows how many pages since the presentation last night.

What's the general opinion?

I'm really excited. I think it's a good move, not showing the console, roll on E3.

Anyone pre-ordered yet? I'll be ordering mine Friday. Wonder what different HDD levels their will be. I'm guessing that the max will be a TB, any other thoughts on this?

Also I would like to know a lot more about that light bar, and it's full purpose.

Simonk, what did you make of it? Or haven't you seen it yet pal?

If you were to continue, it's possible you may be bann-ed.

Please don't let that happen!

i.e. you won't last long.

last time i checked that comment wasn't directed at any "individual or group" you simply took it personal and assumed it was directed at you, keep reading those rules before threatening users with a ban simply because their opinion differs from yours :dunce:

And the last time I checked I remember saying "watch the attitude". And when you say this:

And for all of you saying that this isn't some big number because "my computer has 8 gigs of ram and it's so cheap"- no. Shut up. Stop talking. You are dumb. This is like comparing a toaster to your poor, hopeless soul.

It most certainly is directed toward a group. I'll assure you that I don't fancy repeating myself, so you can either heed the advice given or continue on as you are and end up on the opposite side of a warning and/or infraction.

Choice is yours.

Doesn't marketing work both ways though? If you show the console, but not what you can do, then people will just speculate about what you can do; marketing will still be "working."

I still think that if MS were to just show off the basics right away and hopefully make Gold an actual premium service rather than an, pretty much, obligatory one, then they'll be on a good step.

You didn't have an opinion man, you just started spouting off insults. I didn't take it personally, I couldn't, because I never mentioned anything about memory data rate types. I was calling you out on your bs. But that was a mistake since you're simply here to troll it seems anyway. It doesn't matter how you mean for something to be taken, simple fact is that the impression was easily a bad one which you claim it shouldn't have been.

I also never threatened you. If you're at a new job and, say, you're doing a task in way which could get you fired, would you consider your co-worker's warning to be a threat?

I think what Sony did was pretty good from a marketing point of view.

They give us specs as an appetiser to get us talking about it until they are ready to release everything.

It keeps us interested and wanting more.

You do realise Sony will be at E3 as well yeah?

If Sony announced loads more launch titles last night what would you expect them to announce then?

Haters gonna hate.

For sure E3 there will be more announcements by both parties but at this moment in time the whole gaming community is talking PS4 and I can't wait till its out!

Anyone pre-ordered yet? I'll be ordering mine Friday. Wonder what different HDD levels their will be. I'm guessing that the max will be a TB, any other thoughts on this?

Can you?

I will be but didn't realise you could already......

There won't be HDD for PS4, I think Sony will use SSD :)

Huh? It will have a HDD.

Holiday 2013 is around December. Time for me to start saving up for a PS4, I want to get that Killzone game alongside it.

Me too. I love the Killzone franchise. Hell, I love shooters. Killzone has always looked amazing, too. Killzone 2 and 3 still look great even now in a post Crysis 2/3 & Battlefield 3 world.

Pretty interesting and amazing info. Typical Sony press release, though. Amazing features for the future console, with a TON of hype!

At this point in my life, at age 43, it's all just 'meh.'

But, I'm not trying to kid anybody. I'll get one. But, for the first time since PlayStation's have been release, I will NOT get one on launch day. It's just not as important to me as it once was.
