I hope it's the video quality, because that Driveclub gameplay looks horrible, as in much worse than GT5.

I'm not sure if this has been posted here already but Mark Cerny assures that the PS4 won't overheat because it consumes less power.
As part of a longer GRTV interview, which will be shown in full this Sunday on the site, we asked Cerny how the PlayStation 4 would cope with the intense summer heat that Spain's currently sweltering under.

"I think it will be fine," he replied. "They know how to design the console so it doesn't overheat. If you notice that PlayStation 4 is smaller, it's because power consumption is less; simple as that."

Most games on PS4 are 1080p and 30fps.

30fps is bad news but expected.

I don't like the idea of the next 5-8 years at 30fps. Games like Uncharted are painful to play. On pc games I drop to around 25-30fps for screenshots sometimes but I'm not seriously playing

Tomb Raider on PC is a good example, there's many graphic settings which incrementally lower framerate. I can only play the game once it hits 40-45fps. Any lower hurts my eyes like playing PS3/360 games at 30fps. Good thing about TR on PC is there's no tearing at 40-45fps and my next gpu purchase will mean 60fps at full settings.

Would be nice to have PS4 unlock frame rate to reach around 40 or even have some graphic options now its a pc

A pipe dream would be a dual gpu console for those of us who care or 3 years down the line they do the usual gpu shrink lower price etc but another sku where they put in a better gpu to aid framerate and keep the power consumption high and price at $399. You could also join up 2x PS4s.

The dual gpu console or whatever would solely be to aid framerate, not give devs chance to make even prettier gamer at 30fps. Devs would target the baseline PS4, the extra gpu is to boost framerate and not mess targets or distrupt the platform.

Im not worried at all about early games only being 30fps at 1080p. Forza 5 is on the presumably weaker Xbox One, weaker by how much who knows for sure, but its running at 1080p/60fps. So it can happen next gen. 1.8tflops in a closed console should be plenty enough for 60fps @ 1080p. But without a big budget and limited time Im assuming alot of devs are just knocking it down to 30fps instead of spending time and money getting a game to 60fps.

Besides the only launch title I'd like to see 60fps from is Drive Club. The rest are fine at 30fps.

Then I guess you should just play on your PC then! Wouldn't want you to hurt your eyes.

The reality is 1080p at 30fps is pretty poor for gaming in 2013.

I agree. Basically it's gonna be this gen all over again, performance wise - racing, sports, and other not-so-demanding games running 60 with everything else at 30, except now everything's 1080p.

For $399, I certainly wouldn't expect much better.

This has to be a rumor. I think the PS 4 can do more than 1080p and 30 fps. I thought the PS4 can do 60 fps and run up to 4K resolution.

If games look as good or a little better than The Last Of Us i can live with it. I'm not that hard to please and i probably couldn't tell the difference between 30 or 60fps anyways.

Wow. People jumping to conclusions based on the first batch of games. here's a tip. Look at the first games to come out for the 360 and PS3, and then compare them to the games that have come out recently. Quite a difference.

In any case, I don't mind, as I find graphics perfectly fine on current generation consoles. I'm far more interested in the possibilities where gameplay experiences are concerned. Games running at 30FPS is not a problem when they're made to run at that speed. Even if some people fool themselves into believing otherwise.

The next-gen consoles won't be able to do 4K gaming. Nor will we see that in any foreseeable future.

100% agree with this post!👍

Sega Rally was so better graphically than Gran Turismo 5....

Plus if you look at any series that had games at the start of the generation to their games at the end. Even Grand Theft Auto 4/5. If the graphics are anywhere near to what we've seen in that latest trailer than it looks like IV was programmed on a calculator.

Apparently it's the customers fault that we don't get 60fps for all or most games.
