You do realize what Gravitron's post was referring to right?

He was stating that this was not a GT6 forum. Which the person you quoted saying "take a few seconds to look at this", wasn't talking about GT6.

You brought it up. You are still in the wrong.

I quoted the post that triggered my post. So it's "wrong" to comment regarding a similar release variance.

P.S. You don't want to take apart the controller and switch buttons, because the buttons AREN'T reversed in games. You just learn it, it becomes second nature within a week.

Is this only on Japanese systems? I'm planning on sending a US PS4 to someone in France.

Not to mention the fact that the buttons have unique lugs on them so you can't physically swap them over anyway.

Thats just stupid and flat out ignorant.

How about a simultaneous release, too much to ask???

YOU personally should get first crack at everything.

I know quite a bit has already been said in response to this, but I'd like to point out that a simultaneous release is almost impossible, as different regions have different release times for products. Only very rarely do items come out outside of these release dates.

I worked at Blockbuster for 3 years, and Tuesday's are always the days for new product when it comes to Movies and Games. Just like movies in the theatres always come out on Friday's for the most part. Businesses can't constantly change signage and move shelving to make room for a single release unless the company doing the releasing is either negligibly small or paying a massive amount. GT is too big to be the former, but not big enough to be the latter.

I assume Japan and Europe have product release days on calendar days other than Tuesday, hence the date discrepancies with GT's release.

Now back to PS4!

EDIT: The only time a game or movie doesn't come out on a Tuesday, it's usually on a Friday... like GT6 for example.

Correct. My PS3 is Japanese, and the reversed X and O in system menus are the only differences once you change the system language.

Catches me out every time I go to someone else's house and use their PS3. ;)

I have a Japanese PS2 and a HK PS3, its all I've ever known! and its in no way an inconvenience, you pick it up right away 👍

Also it only affects menu's in game... not in gameplay.

As far as I know, yes. All other regions are the "normal" way around. US and EU should be fine.

In the case of those buttons being recognized as the same as up & down on the right analog stick, is that affected the same as the buttons being reversed?

No, it doesn't affect anything gameplay relevant (unless you play japanese games).

Big exception if you use one of these:

Around 2.75 GHz

I'm keen to see what's really in there when someone takes apart a retail one.

2,75GHz really?

Anyway, I'm asking because it's rumored that PS4 will have 1,6-2,0GHz, but I per-ordered a PS4 in Russia and it clearly claims 2,0Ghz. This is surprisingly fast compared to XBone

All we have to go on with the PS4 at the moment is the dev kits spec which are max 2.75GHz but as that's what they are using to develop it will be comparable. I reckon it will be capped at like 2.0GHz for retail.

That is most likely the WCK frequency of the ram.

CPU speed will most likely be at least 1.6GHz. Hopefully it is at least as fast as the 1.75GHz of the Xbox One.

I can definitely believe it will run at 2.0ghz. Afterall PS4 is going to run 10-15 degrees celsius cooler then the PS3.

Touchpad and tablet app fail to respond during live showing. Things happen. Still a few bugs to iron out. YouTube Link

You'd think they would test it before they have someone sit down to demo it!

Trophies screen looks good but i prefer old listed one. You could view almost all of them, this looks like pages changed screen

Indeed, especially when you're as big a name in the videogame business as Sony. Oddly enough, Yoshida Shuhei mentioned it was a "not fully tested machine". He also mentioned wireless interference. I'm sure Sony will make sure that doesn't happen on air again.

Sony SVP Masayasu Ito gives more info on PS4.

- While being always online is not necessary, a network connection is important to fully enjoy the features of the PS4.

-The PS4 will initially act as a stand-alone web server for the PlayStation App. In the future there’s the possibility of this to be expanded through the cloud, with the PS4 and PlayStation App interacting through the cloud, allowing cooperative play between multiple players.

-The secondary chip for ultra-low power operation will mostly activate at night from 1 to 4 AM and download any required update automatically. It will also activate when software is purchased through external means like the PlayStation App.

-Power consumption will vary greatly depending on the performance of the game played.

-The noise level of the console during operation is generally much lower than it was on the PS3.

-The PS4′s cooling fan has a low noise level and stepless speed control (meaning that it will increase its speed to match heat smoothly and not in sudden steps like the one on the PS3).

-Since the Blu-Ray player is 6x instead of 2x (like the one on the PS3 was), the spinning noise is actually louder. Ito-san feels it’s not annoyingly louder and it will be countered by caching data on the hard disk drive. It’ll be mostly audible during the initial spin-up.

-The Audio/Video performance (for movies and music) of the PS4 will target PS3 levels at launch, but will be improved through updates, for instance with the addition of 4K, as Sony is also an Audio/Video company.

-The theme of the PS4 is “Personalization”, meaning that it will offer an experience tailored to each individual.

So it basically has the PS3 beep sound. Interesting though, I don't hear any fans like I do with the PS3 so that'll be quite a different experience.

What got my attention was the blue light and its slow blinking. Looks cool.

Got to see and also play PS4 games. It is quite amazing to see in real life how small it is. It looks smaller than what the official pictures give the impression off to me. Knack impressed me most graphically (Out of games I saw up close) which I wasn't expecting to say...

Hard to judge controller, felt better than Xbox One to me but could depend on how badly worn they were as it was in the last few hours till the end of Eurogamer Expo.

That is fan made.
