Should Kaz join GTplanet? I think he should, as he could communicate directly with the fanbase and respond to feedback.

Of course. It would make everything better. Even just a staff member or two would be so appreciated!

Of course. I think this would show us that they listen.

I worry about the future of GT so this would be nice. Someone from the PD staff would be good. Yamauchi would be great.

In all fairness, shouldn't we then reciprocate by posting on the official Playstation GT forum from time to time?

How do you know he hasn't already?

You also have to think that if he did join, his inbox would be constantly FLOODED with messages ranging from Porsche to GT6 to the PS4.

But I do think it would be cool if he was at least a part of the community.

Gran Turismo has it's own forum on the Playstation site, while I do agree this site is much better it's unofficial.

His inbox would be spammed to death with petty ideas.

All other racing games have a huge community and responds and discuss with them.

so my answer is yes.

Quite so.

Given the amount of abuse often levelled at PD in general and Yamauchi-san in particular, I very much doubt anyone from there would want to join GTPlanet with their own name (not least because it'd be a pain in the arse for us staff!). Which naturally leads to the question... if they wouldn't use their own name, how can anyone be sure that they haven't joined GTPlanet?

Kinda pointless question because there's no way he'd actually be able to join here because, no matter how big or small this place is, it is an unofficial GT fan website. So effectively, there is no chance.

PD employees are probably just lurkers. Stating the obvious I know ;).

Ok me or someone else should post that on the PS website.

There's no reason he - nor any other PD member - wouldn't be able to join the site under a different name.

That would be awesome, but man with all the flame sometimes GTP give to Kaz I'm not sure if he'd be comfortable here, either that or we will have a bunch of people praising each posts he makes. So really I think he should but I'm not sure if it would be a good thing on the long run. I would rather have him here and just talk about the game and about the same stuff we do. Even play together but that's about it.

Well if he did, how on earth would he cope with the constant abuse hurled at him and PD?

They could extend a hand to Jordan and make this the official GT forum quite easily I'm guessing. I'd be on the current official forum daily if it had any form of administration or if any questions were ever asked but I've never seen one post by a moderator or any other person connected to PD or Sony on the official Gran-Turismo site. I don't think we will ever have Kaz here posting and know that it's him but it would be nice to have a few PD employed staff here to talk to the community.

Even so, it would be kinda moot to have someone from PD joining a site based around support of their own products I believe. Which is why the main way of communication and fan base receiving tends to be through Twitter...

Oh gosh, Kaz under his real name here?? :scared:

No. Not unless the hand contained quite a large cheque and an autonomy contract - and even then I wouldn't like to say the outcome is certain.

With some minor points...

We're the largest single-platform, single-series video game website in the world - their game series. Reading us is their community research, done for free and without (much) bias - our members can tell them if something's crap without any prejudice because we're not aware of them! Joining us just makes it easier for them.

We have no reason to suspect there is anyone from PD at this site. We have no reason to suppose there isn't. It just makes sense that they would be and not under any kind of public expression of their position.

It'll be great to have Kaz here on GTP. But I'm keep think he'll be a VIP member and make threads in the VIP fourms.

Edit: My answer is yes by the way.

You found me out!!!, damn you guy's.:p

Maybe with Kaz as Kaz on here it might make certain users think twice before hurling yet more meaningless abuse at him and PD!! Oh yeah and I would think he would be worthy of a complimentary Premium membership too? :dopey:

It's not like he couldn't afford one...

For his sake and sanity I say no. Once people can remove their emotions a little than it would be great to have someone high up with PD openly communicating with GTPlanet.

Famine may have even banned him before under an anonymous account for not adhering to the AUP! :)

I am sure they have lots of PD trolls, though I doubt they would sign up as they would just browse as guests.

Unless they use a VPN, IPs can be checked for location and VB allows for this (I know)

Kaz is in the shadows with his minions, watching the forums, enjoying our random chatter, complaints, requests, debates and what not. He then smiles away in the dark corner of his throne, indulging himself with good jazz GT5 music, while his minions are taking notes of our complaints and requests then putting them into an idea box, only to be thrown away by Kaz as he forgot to check it's contents. True Story:sly:

I don't really think so.

Catering for the die hard fans would lose any developer 90% of their market share - not even PD can afford this.

Second, if you want an innovative product, the last place of inspiration is the customer. He or she usually doesn't know what he or she wants, so how the hell he/ she is going to tell you?

Third, GTP and similar sites are a marketing execs nightmare as they have zero control over it. No control is bad. Like BAD written in capital letters.

As much I appreciate GTP support for things like the GamesCom 2010 coverage and GT-A first hand reports, I dread in the same way what this community becomes if it is abuse in a way of putting pressure on a developer.

I rather much prefer it to be like in the old days where a bunch of loonies meet and talk about a video game.

Leave the official business site to the appropriate channels and enjoy the support of Sony through enabling GTP staff covering first hand by being recognised as media representatives.

I chose No if the case is that he would become just a normal but publicly known member.

Anyway if he did, people will either say we want this and this... or be spammed with abuse or the common one when Kaz is seen doing anything away from PDs offices, get back to work. He would be scared off quite quickly, but he is smart enough not to join or if he has already joined, not to make himself known. Any positives will be quickly outweighed by negatives.

Don't worry though Kaz, there are some appreciative members on here, the many who are still playing potentially still the most popular car racing game in the world.
