Dedicated servers and/or host migration... im sure they are working on this allready.

rest of my list:

- Dynamic weather effects.

- Day/Night cycle.

- replays of online races.

- option to move the in game camera yourself.

- Tire wear.

- Fuel loss.

- true pitstops, with pitcrew and everything included, not like forza or previous GT's.
Where you just enter the pit and come out filled up like a magic invisible pit-crew did it.

- PIT RADIO!! (why not even use the headset as a option as well so you get updates from the pit on what your status is, how many laps to go, when you haveto go for your planned pitstop, when it will start raining, etc.)

That's basically it... i really hope PD reads all of this and keeps these things in mind.. im sure they are allready working on most of this stuff as we speak, but to be a true competitor and a true race simulator, it really needs these options.

For GT5 Prologue

  • Private Rooms
  • Qualifying and practice sessions for offline and online
  • Tire Wear 1x 2x 3x 4x 5x
  • Fuel Consumption 1x 2x 3x 4x 5x
  • Trophy support

Realistically, who are we kidding?! Will PD ever really deliver? For those of us who have bought every incarnation that PD have chucked at us I think we secretly know the answer unfortunately. Won't admit it to anyone else, but deep down I think we already know the truth. Don't get me wrong, I've loved GT, ever since getting that rush from racing Grand Valley & Trial Mountain with a 931bhp R33 on GT1. I'm just getting a little tired of being promised so much only to end up being disappointed come the final release. Call me a cynic if you want, even when GT5 does come it will probably be the only version to come out on PS3, and we'll then have to start over again with a 2 year wait on PS4 when that arrives, holding a huge wish list in our mitts of what we wanted but never had in GT5

im 1000% with ya

It really sucks, but your both probably right. Oh well I have a 360 and Wii, so at least FM3 will deliver the online race goodness, as for the Wii, I'm still waiting to see if I will ever buy any games for it, :dopey:

  • Laser scanned tracks
  • Accurate wheel to wheel lock for every car and accurate steering wheel rotation.

-Private rooms
-Real tire screech sounds and marks
-A couple of extra tracks and cars
-Livery editor

That would be enough to make me happy, just id swap private rooms with open rooms where you can invite friends and still being able to race random encounters.👍

Day / Night / Weather

As many have mentioned, the penalty thing needs modifying. If the AI is going to be what it is, then a player need not take a penalty for something the AI initiates.

While just a few would be ok, I don't care to see a lot of mission or license tests where you have to start from the back and then overtake 19 cars in a few laps. The only thing this proves is you can find a faster car and tune setting. If there were tests where you had the chance to qualify for a starting position, that would be ok.

It would be nice to be able to save longer enduro races and then come back and pick them back up later.

That would be very nice if we'll see some of these in the Gran Turismo 5 (or 6, if it's planned):

*damage system (deformating, parts fall down) which has affects for the performance,
*a chance to roll over the car,
*older tracks i.e: Green Forest, Grindelwald, Pikes Peak Hill Climb & Downhill, Red Rock Valley, Rome Circuit, Rome-Night, Smokey Mt. North & South, Tahiti Road and Tahiti Dirt Road; and from the GT3: Complex String, Special Stage R11,
*more city and real tracks,
*dynamic weather,
*day/night,
*(changeable) seasons (springs, summer, autumn, winter),
*long lasting dust and smoke effects,
*realistic sounds,
*fixed penalty system and an idicator which shows you how far are you from an object (wall, other car, from the grass/sand = off track); and if you hit/touch the wall your lap will be invalid -> omly the totally clean laps count, mainly in Time Trial,
*the chance if you win a car -> change the color,
*or change the color of a car which you won,
*the ability to take photos in-game when you press the PAUSE button,
*slow motion, FF, RWD, framing (frame to frame), changing other views (freely, not just the fix views), better sinchronyzing, zooming and a searching system (jump to time/lap xx) in Replay Theatre,
*cars getting dirty to use the car-wash,
*mechanical failures (engine overheating, tire blown up, fuel),
*flag rules in racing,
*the chance to save (longer Endurance, like 24H-s) race in the PIT,
*custom line-up (you can set the cars of the AI -> the place, the type, the quantity, the difficulty, etc.),
*if you brake to hard, spin, drift -> rubber marks on the road,
*race editor for On-Line racing,
*stabilized On-Line playing (not so many disconnect)
*private On-Line room,
*infos from the PIT in racing,
*fuel consumption, tyre wear,
*using the flash lights, tail lights, direction indicator, warning lights and open/close doors, hood, windows in Photo Travel,
*taking photos from the interior in Photo Travel,
*changing Rims in Photo Travel,
*customizing the license plate (region, ID number)
*infos in the menu: How to Unlock/Get cars, tracks, specials,
*more (different) Oval tracks: Motegi, Test Course, Daytona, Indianapolis, etc.
*options to edit custom camera views (distance, degree, height, etc.) or new camera views,
*options to turn on/off fix/dynamic camera view (dinamic -> at a sliding, you can see the side of the car),
*On-Line Replays (1st-100th),
*no invisible walls,
*placing lighting point (lamps maybe) in Photo Travel and the ability to take photos with 2 or more cars at the same time,
*less restriction in Photo Travel,
*no restriction in Arcade Mode (I can use every car in that Mode, the specials too)
*more and the latest events (S1600, LMP1-2, GT, V8 Supercars, Super GT, F-1, Drag, Drift Races/Trials against the AI, etc.),
*statistics (after a 2-xx lap race -> teoric lap times, best sector times and speed = Data Logger but better),
*and finally everthing which will be good for the Gran Turismo franchise,

And PD, if you watch this site, please take a look at this Hungarian site, too: http://www.gt.ballor.hu/forum/granturismo/6
Thanks PD the GT5P, and we hope, we'll get a new generation and fixed GT5.

PD, is it possible to start making other pure hardcore sim(s), for other platforms as well?

You have the skills, talented programmers, financial recourses.

Online events for 300bhp, 450bhp 600bhp and 800bhp classes?

not just focus on 600+ because thats boring and requires supercars all the time...

With prologue all i want is private rooms, voice chat, and fuel/tire wear. This definitely would hold me over for at least a year. This includes the revision of the penalty system of course.

No, the reason being this....

Wikipedia
Polyphony Digital Inc. is an internal video game developing company of Sony Computer Entertainment and is part of the newly formed Sony World Studios.

Sony wont ever let PD make a game for anything apart from Sony consoles. GT is a billion dollar (US dollars that is) franchise. Its something Sony can not afford to loose, and something they will do all they can to keep control of.

Yes I know but it was worth to try.
They should try to make a brand new pure hardcore sim solely for the PS3 and Sony will have another billion dollar franchise.

I hope that Blimey! games's sims are going to be much better than gran turismo.

GT is great, GT is fun but it is only/still GT. I want something new after all these years (I started with GT3). I'm getting a little bit bored with GT(5p). It is always the same although it gets updated => graphics, physics.

First let them finish GT5, thats taking them long enough as it is. Never mind if they had another racing sim in development too.

It's much but would be nice untill GT5 comes out

1- Track/s: Nurburgring, Monza, Monaco, Silverstone and any Rally track/s
2- DTM Car/s
3- Rally Car/s
4- 1/4 mile drag racing
5- NOS added

Cheers :)

Better engine sounds
Tuning parts, such as;
Engine upgrades
Turbos
Intercoolers
Exaust
Brakes
Would be great to have some rally cars and tracks.
and one of my favourite tracks, Nurburgring.

I would like to see a lot more of the small details, more sound fx added like a pop from the exhaust when changing gear, on tuned and race cars or some standard cars that do this in real life. The odd flame, tyre marks, small things like this add alot to the atmosphere of a game and the sounds should change realistically, according to the modifications done to the engine.

Sound has always been a week point in gt games, like the tyre squeal, some cars sounds were totally wrong the 180sx in gt3 sounded like a straight 6 not a 4.

Physics fixes like the eternal slide with little or no throttle like mentioned before and the way some cars can spin the wheels taking off too easily and the clutch does not feel realistic either.

I could go on but this is just what popped into my head now.

fix the replay glitch - i know some people love the replays and some people don't, but i'm one who does. in the replays, if your car goes off the track or bumps another car it gets aimed wrong, the replay seems to have the car re-do the same sequence of turns and gas/brake combos as you did in your race, but renders them real-time instead of just replaying your race. so is a few tires go out on a turn, your replay will end up with you car buried in a wall :(

I have not read this thread yet, because I would like to point out a flaw to this idea first. Even if Polyphony Digital does read these forums, it is unlikely that they will change it if just a few people mention the problem. If it was all over the internet, then yes, they probably would change it, but just a couple of people on one board is unlikely to have any effect.
