I have not read this thread yet, because I would like to point out a flaw to this idea first. Even if Polyphony Digital does read these forums, it is unlikely that they will change it if just a few people mention the problem. If it was all over the internet, then yes, they probably would change it, but just a couple of people on one board is unlikely to have any effect.

Wouldn't be too sure about that ^^ .
Read the thread and you'll notice they very likely already did :)

Auto-tune feature. All I want to do is be able to do a few laps and let the computer analyze my driving style, then change the settings of the cars accordingly. Then go out do a few more laps and compare lap times, sector times, and give feedback on the balance. Then change the setting again, and go do a few more laps, etc, etc. Driving a godly set up car is fun, but getting it there is pretty boring, to me anyways.

That would ruin tuning. The fun part about tuning is actually tuning (lol). Having the computer do it for you removes all skill from the tuning process.

fix the replay glitch - i know some people love the replays and some people don't, but i'm one who does. in the replays, if your car goes off the track or bumps another car it gets aimed wrong, the replay seems to have the car re-do the same sequence of turns and gas/brake combos as you did in your race, but renders them real-time instead of just replaying your race. so is a few tires go out on a turn, your replay will end up with you car buried in a wall :(

Really? I watch all of my replays and have NEVER had a replay be different from my race.

Agreed. 👍 Plus you would get an awesome tune and did nothing to get it. Not a very Gran Turismo style of playing. The series is known for rewarding hard work.

I hope they go all out for the tuning because thats the reason why i love this game. But when you look @ forza with engine swaps and everything we better PD steps it up. I want them to implement a basic tuning setup (like the current one) and then have an advance tuning section where your car is on the dyno and your mapping out fuel and air ratios and the whole 9 yards. 👍

As I already said,

Please PD, let the players configure the sensivity of the Controller! ( steering, throttle, brakes )

Dont do 50% pressure = 50% effect

Let it be a cruve, no straight line....and let the player decide at his self.

I'm pretty sure that PD read through these forums regularly. So many people have posted their points on the screwed up penalty system online, and how it is making a lot of people give up on the online side of the game. I think these forums have gone a long way in influencing PD to overhaul and improve the penalty system in the August update.

With the power of the PS3, when you can zoom in and out on replays to your heart's content why not have a fully adjustable camera position for driving? Why is it fixed to just 3 different positions? It's not like the cockpit isn't modeled either, as far as I can see you should be able to put a player cam wherever you want? Personally I always preferred to TOCA bonnet view. Found it easier to not run into the back of people instead of imagining where the front of the car is.

That is a problem that is all over the internet, and not just confined to these forums. So thats not really a good example to use, because it pretty much agrees with the other guys theory that unless its a major wide-spread problem then PD wont do much about it.

There has been no mention of fixing any of the small glitches that some GTP users have found. Only the big ones which everyone across the internet is complaining about.

I think that PD take more notice of some sites more than others, gtplanet would have more of an influence on PD than other sites because gtplanet has a HUGE GT fan base, much more than most other sites. The small glitches you mention, may be rectified in the August update.

so even if you go off in the dirt or hit someone your replay car doesn't get set off course? hmmm, i wonder if it's somehow my machine then. it has done this to me in the japanese demo, the Blue-Ray and the downloaded copies of the game. i wonder if its something i can correct myself or if it's just the way it is for me on my machine :(

I haven't watched the replays in GT5 enough to witness this, but it definitely happens in GT4 and GT3. In order to save disk space, GT saves the replay files as a collection of motion and control vectors for each car in the race, then re-renders the race every time you watch the replay. Occasionally, small errors creep in and cars go off or collide where they did not in the original race.

Once an error begins it usually compounds radically, and you will often find the affected car wedged in a corner somewhere, banging back and forth.

Yeah, thats exactly what happens to me. I haven't had it happen in the older games though. It happens almost without fail in the GT5 games though, unless you have a flawless race. Oh well, thats enough off-topic out of me. Thanks for the input!

Well the problem is we aren't actually driving the car. So yes, while you can sometimes tell a difference how am I supposed to know if setting the camber at 1.9 is better than 2.0 or 1.8? Should I run fourth gear at .872 or .875? Toe at -0.11 or -0.12? Who knows! If you can tell a difference of a hundreth of a point on this game, then you aren't human.

And those little bars that tell you about handling are the most useless things I've ever seen. Camber at 0.0, slide it to 1.6 and the 'handling' bar increases by 1 pixel, continue to slide the camber to 3.9 and then the 'handling' bar decreases by 1 pixel. Okay, according to GT5 my car handles the same whether I run 1.6* or 3.8* of camber...yea right.

I got one:

please let us be able to turn off the HUD!

it could be easily done in any update, it's really simple and it would be great to play without any stats on the screen, just me, the car and the track.

Speaking of the HUD, today I was racing, and for the first time I noticed the fuel icon in the right-hand corner.
Could this be an indication of what's to come?

@BrainGow=Bairn,fully agree with you there...👍

@El Drifto, lets hope so,would be great!tyre wear/fuel consumtion and beceause of that wheight loss....etc etc:):)

spyrrari.

I've been asking the same thing ever since Need for Speed III had in 1999. My god, why not??? It freaks me out, speacially when driving on the cockpit view. For god's sake, the hud is already there!

I mean, no excuse, this is something they could EASIALLY FIX, i mean, how hard can that be?

above anything i want nurburgring and le sarthe, after these i want more cars (more older cars i.e escort cosworths, r32 skyline, 22b's, f355, lotus carlton etc. After this i want suzuka 600pp pro permanently there in online races.

well theres one week till the update. all we can do is hope that PD listened to all that we've been saying and complaining about for the last couple of months

Yeah, you're probably right, but one thing I think most of use would like to see is tire temperatures across the with of each tire. That is very useful in setting up camber, which is the worst thing I hate setting up.

*Nurburgring

*Room for more time trial times and the ability to delete individual times.

*The ability to choose which cars your opponents have in the arcade races

*Nurburgring

*forget about updating prologue and finish GT5???

when "free running" online races, all online participants are shown. would make for better performance comparison and good race craft practice. resulting lap times could affect grid position in next race. (qualifying) could also potentially be used to help/instruct some of the noobs who dont actually WANT to ram everyone, thats if we ever get microphone support from PD a bluetooth fix from sony (after 2.41 nightmare) and i still cant get my new isp's router off nat3 8(
