Polyphony Digital Will "Add More Events Through Updates" to GT Sport's Campaign Mode

I never played Forza. But if you look at PC2 (which I like) it's pretty bareboned compared to GT. The interface, the soundtrack, the gallery, livery editor, the car gallery, driving school, missions and beautifullly detailed museums (love the timeline with historical landmarks) etc. and without mentioning the nr of cars and tracks. I respect your opinion and not criticizing I'm just wondering if you looked beyond the nr of cars and tracks and look at the content. In the demo only a few missions were available. I don't know if you like the senna content of gt6, but I liked it a lot. If we can get more content like that (mission wise) like beating hamilton's reference times, more "historical content", maybe even additional reference times by famous drivers with the game (I'd like to know how close I can get to Verstappen!). I prefer that over Sunday cups/ classic car cups etc. and grinding credits just to collect more cars.

The SP content in PC2 is also lacking. You can race lots of cars on lots of tracks, drive a racingweekend, but there is no extra content beyond that. It's improved over PC1, but it's more of an evolution. Absolutely nothing wrong with that ofcourse. But GT sport showed me something more and although not the same GT as the ones before it is also opening new possibilities in online/offline content.
That's just not true at all. There is a career mode which also include: maufacturer drives and invitational events. There is also time trials and community events.

I know I played it also. But I get less of a satisfying feeling of progression then GT. The presentation is also lackluster. Winning a cup isn't very satisfying. You don't win a car (because everything is accessible). You can't earn to buy cars. (Again everything is accessible) It didn't keep me excited to continue the campaign. I also can't imagine SMS to ad more content to this campaign.

The GT missions offer more variation and fun in my opinion. There is a great feeling of accomplishment when you "win" a car.

I was convinced PC2 would beat GT sport. But the demo showed me otherwise. Nevertheless time will tell which game will be on top at the end of the year critically as financially. My money is on GT sport.

I'm 46, so right there with you. The uncertainty of GTS, is why I didn't get a PS4. After reviews, I'll probably get a PS4 Pro and GTS.

I'm enjoying PC2 right now. I've got so much content. Haven't touched all the cars and tracks like I said I would. I'm mostly stuck into TCR cars and several tracks. Digging touring cars over sports cars.
So, with GTS, I see they have a few Gr.4 "touring sedans": Atenza, WRX, Evo and 3 box coupes- M4, RCF. Those types of cars interest me and I bet there are more to come.

Like I mentioned, I'm sure more real world Japanese tracks will make it in. I had my fill of Brands Hatch in most racing games. Interlagos should be refreshing. Plus, I don't know how many variations of Suzuka are included. With the multi-class racing and 30 car grids, trying out various cars at the same tracks will make for a good replay collection.

I'm looking forward to the livery editor as well. Just don't know where I'll find the time to fit all that in... But I'll make time.

Cheers for the reply Sir, you're a true gent. This will cause a laugh. I bought a PS4 after launch, ready for GT7 Prologue! PMSL! Then, like a freak, I upgraded to a PS4 Pro in April, in readiness for running GTS at its "best" LOL. When the news of tracks/cars sank into my broken mental head, I was gutted. I know, I need to get out more lol. Sold my 4Pro and upgraded my PC when the CPU died. I know I'll be back, once Polyphony give me reasons. GTS, has been the most expensive game I've never bought lol. Stop laughing you lot !!

The things we do for the racing genre eh peeps. BTW, I was the same (Opel TCR) spooky that...

I remember in GT5/6(?) I'd run the Aston Martin V12 Vantage at Nord (my fave track), and downgraded the tyres to add to the challenge, just to help compensate for the amount of grip in the handling model. Good times. Hoping for something similar when GTS lands. GTS being the price it is, I do hope it covers some real extra FIA tracks, but have no problem backing P.D as I always have done, providing news is forthcoming ref track content/timespans. I do agree with you that more real tracks will land in future.

BTW, agree with you also ref Gr.4/Tour content too, 100%. For me, that's where the most fun will be had. The way I see it, yeah, GT3 is lovely - all race cars are cool, but stuff like Clio Cup, Abarth 500 Corse, Mini Challenge, and old race cars would be awesome diversions from the top tier stuff too. I sadly hate VGT cars with a passion, I even hate to see them lapping with real life GT content lol. I need help I know...

I'm excited for GTS to reveal about classic type content over time too, similar to stuff like MK1 Escorts and Ferrari 365 GTB/4 etc. Obivously being a bit on the ancient side, stuff like that is cool, and is a handful too.

I've had a similar experience! Except I didn't sell my ps4pro! Gaming on PC is way more expensive for people prone to GAS (gear acquisition syndrome) like me! I'm really hoping for something similar to the senna content of GT6! Don't know what the average age is but I'm a 38 year old gamer here!

Pffft, you didn't spit your dummy out and sell your console Sir lol, how very dare you...

;)

Yeah, the Senna content surely must land in GTS in a special way!! Surely that will be on the radar for all of us to be excited to see. lol @ GAS, nuff said. I'd imagine that your wish for the Senna stuff will be granted quite quickly tbh, fingers crossed.

I hope so too, it was a great event.

I thought that tonight as I was driving a Gr3 Lexus saloon V8 car. Sounded like a V8 Supercar to me. Wouldn't it be awesome if they got put into the game along with some of their tracks, heaven.

yeah, The Ford Falcon XR8 interested me in previous GT games, and since then I actually wanted more Australian V8 race cars to be included. Though if it does happen, I'm not gonna get involved in that Holden-vs-Ford fistfight that has been going on for decades. I want me that Nissan Altima :P

Who gives a ****. With the complete lackluster career mode and the most horrifying AI ever, who gives a crap about more stupid ass "career missions". How about they work on fixing the complete atrocious and broken AI 1st huh? You know, the ai who contactly runs into you, purposely rams you and spins you out and isnt even effected themselves. Especially that white viper. That viper is the devil himself. Every. Single. Time.

This game and series has become a gigantic joke. Way too late releases, and ever since gt5 just complete trash. Forza has become a more then full price $100 microtransaction fest, GT has been a complete waste of time with broken promises and delay after delay year after year, and the rest of the racing sims have no career or progression to even speak of.

At a time where there are so many racing games out there, where it finally sees its day, its completely dying at the same time. All crap.

After spending over 6 hours trying to do the last endurance race in the demo, only to be continuly wiped out over and over, fighting to the front of the pack just to be magically wiped out on the last turn of the last lap, im done. Anyone cant disagree or fanboy all they want, but dont kid yourself. This game was NOT worth the wait. At all. My biggest reason i got a ps2 was gt3. Ps3 was gt5, which i had to wait years for. Same with why i got a ps4. You knkw what? Sorry sony, and PD. You lose. I will not be getting a ps5, or the next gran turismo, and neither will any of my crew of 20. We have all decided to go with pc and not wait around for another crapfest from pd. Half of us have already moved to pc. Some of us probably even wont be alive for the next gran turismo considering we will be stuck with this garbage for another decade.

Unfortunately I totally agree with you. Waited for so long for this game and after a day have zero motivation to play it. I understand it has appeal for Online gamers, for me, it’s an exercise in futility. To think I almost bought a PS4 PRO so I would not have to compete with the kids for the PS4!!! Thank god I did not and as you say no motivation at all to buy the PS5 given the main motivator to have a PS was always GT.

This is the discussion thread for a recent post on GTPlanet:
This article was published by Andrew Evans (@Famine) on October 13th, 2017 in the Gran Turismo Sport category.

You know what I would absolutely LOVE to see?? The Sierra Time Rally Special Event that was added to GT6 or something very similar to it! That event was so much fun and quite addicting!!! I am not sure if there is something like that in the Mission Challenges, but in light of the offline mode being expanded, I would really like to see more special events of that type.

In addition, I would really like to see the traditional A-Spec career mode that we have had in past GT games. I know that GT Sport is heading in a new direction, and I am very much excited for that. However, I still can't get away from the traditional A-Spec career mode that has always been there!

I mean really. Offline Championship races have always been what the career mode of Gran Turismo has always been. Sunday Cup up GT Championship. But no, they only have license test and mission races. No 6, 12, 24 HR endurance races, which is BS I might add. They based a game entirely as an online game. This is basically the COD of racing. The online racing better be good. I had 10 MBPS internet when I was playing GT6 and the online racing was extremely twitchy and skippy and totally kills the racing. Oh and not everyone is good enough to get recognized on Gran Turismo to score a racing seat for a racing team. Except me.
Yall can kid yourself all you want. Ive been a major fan of the series since it launched 20 years ago. And this by far is the worst. Everyone complained about 5, even more complained about 6. At least the core of those games were still gran turismo. This current "gran turismo" dont offer anything else that any other racing sim on the market does, and what it does do it does worse.

Always online to play ANYTHING? Online ONLY saves? No customization other then stickers? No campaign to speak of, just a bunch of license tests? No dynamic weather or time, the smallest car and track list of any racer this gen, AI thats completely broken should i keep going??

I know im not the only one diaappointed in this game. There are many more, and i see this being one of the worst, if not THE worse selling GT in the series. Add all of that to the fact that its releasing right after forza 7 and project cars 2, and we will see just how well the sales numbers really will be. And see what the reviews say once they are out. PD may have omce been the king of the sim racing scene, especially on consoles. But they are gonna need more then just their name to sell these days in a market thats suddenly been flooded with sim racers. They needed to really step it up this time, and when you look at what we get and the competition, the simple fact is that they didnt.

Well said sir. I mean what were the developers thinking before releasing this game. So all those things you stated are great reasons to why this GT falls short to the many others but there were a couple reasons left out. First, wtf are oval tracks doing in GT, three at that and that's without a single stock car in its minimal lineup. Next, one reason why I really disappointed, next to the no dynamic weather or time change. Where the heck is Circuit de le Sarthe in GT Sport, not even that how about Spa, Silverstone, Fugi and for heck sake where the hell is Tsukuba, if my memory serves me right has been in GT since the beginning. Heck I remember a rain/wet Tsukuba race from the early days of GT.
