$20.... Really? Here's a big middle finger to Microsoft for being money whores.

Every single one of you know these models were already made prior to the launch of the game (with most models already being imported from previous releases and touched up).

I will not, am not paying $20 dollars (1/3 of the censored release price) for 30 cars!

HOW DOES THAT EVEN MAKE SENSE?!?!

"Oh, we'll new events and gamerscore."

Ya, garuntee the events were coded prior to release. How is increasing the gamerscore cap on a game worth money?!

🤬 that.

While I can understand the disarray two things have to be taken into consideration:

1. We're getting seven new cars, 20 new events, whatever Autovista presentations were done prior to the incident.

2. You couldn't, in all honesty, expect this to have been free when the current license is new.

As I said, I completely understand the sentiment but take those two things into consideration and if you feel as strongly, then, fair game.

Hmmm, there was about 34 Porsches in Forza 3. Only 23 Porsches are returning from FM3 and 7 whole new Porsches in the new DLC. I wonder which Porsches have been omitted?

Heres FM3's Porsche list:

2009 Cayenne Turbo S
2006 Cayman S
2010 Panamera Turbo

Hopefully just the racing car duplicates

What did I just say? :P

I do hope they remove the duplicates of the same chassis though, unless it's unique.

^ Agreed, I don't want any road going versions omitted at all. I can't wait to see the new models.

* Sorry T-12, it's just one of those days hahah

I by no means expected it to be free. But you can't honestly believe $20 is a fair price.

I don't know anything about the licensing agreement but how does the development of Forza Horizon play into it? Obviously they were prepared for that game to have Porsche judging by the blatant flaunting in the "tone trailer." I can imagine whatever deal was worked out with EA included both FM4 and Horizon.

Money doesn't grow on trees where I live. And I'm sorry but I don't think Microsoft or T10 have earned my $20 for releasing this. At $10 I would have been jumping off the roof.

The only reason it is that much is because they know people will pay it.

I am one of the biggest Forza fan-boys you'll ever meet. But this... is just wrong.

*Sorry Scaff. I will have to add in another censored.

Interesting snippit:

Forza 4 will see the addition of Porsche via an expansion pack this May, Turn 10 has announced. The expansion pack will add 30 Porsche cars to the game, including 7 previously unseen in the series.

Alongside the cars will be 20 new events for World Tour mode, which is reported to add 5 hours of gameplay to the racing sim. The pack will also include 10 new Achievements, worth 250 points.

Turn 10 would not confirm the line-up of, but has released screenshots showing the 2010 Porsche Sport Classic, the 2010 Porsche Boxster S and the 2010 Porsche 911 Sport Classic.

It was announced last year that Forza Motorsport 4 would not feature Porsche cars because of licensing difficulties with Electronic Arts, who own the rights to use Porsche cars in video games.

"We announced before Forza 4 shipped that Porsches weren't going to be in," said director Dan Greenawalt in an interview with VideoGamer.com. "But that doesn't mean we stopped trying, it was basically the time at which we knew that even if we got the agreement signed that day we wouldn't have enough time to make the content to get it into the game - so that was when we made that press release. But we never walked away from the table, EA never walked away from the table, Porsche never walked away from the table. We'd keep talking, trying to find terms, trying to come to a common agreement - everybody wanted to bring Porsche to the fans."

All the Porsche cars featured in the expansion have been recreated in the Forza 4 engine, as opposed to being ported over from Forza 3.

Greenawalt also stressed that EA wasn't looking to outright block the vehicles from being used in the Forza series. "EA wanted to bring Porsche into Forza Motorsport, they were not against it, we just had to find the right terms that gave equity to the license."

"I actually think this is an everybody wins situation. Business is business, and we just had to figure out common terms. At the end of the day, everyone wanted to bring Porsche to the fans. It would be hard for me to get bitter about it because I saw the whole process go down, and I know there was no ill will on anybody's part, it's just that licensing deals can be complex, especially between two companies that both sell games in the same space."

$20 is a fair bit steep, you won't get an argument from me on that matter, however, I'm sure there are things that contribute to the price. i don't know.

I wasn't there, obviously. If I had to fashion a guess, I'd say the license is perhaps the largest contributor to the price.

1600 MS points for some of the most fun cars around? That to me is a bargain. FM4 is now pretty much complete for me.

As for the cars being recreated in FM4, that's very good to know. I expect one of the new cars is the 928 mentioned to have been complete before the game shipped, and hopefully the Gen.2 GT3 RS, either 3.8 or 4.0 (hopefully the former as it looks nicer to my eyes and the newer car's livery is simpler to recreate).

Massively happy Forza fan today. :D

Depends how bad you want the pack I suppose.
There's still plenty of events for me to do without the extra events and cars.

Going by that logic it's a day one download got me lol.

1600 points sounds a bit steep, but my guess is perhaps the deal hinged around DLC profit sharing with EA. Any word on whether this is included in the season pass?

Season pass end woth April DLC, and this is scheduled for May :-(

1600 is less than three monthly DLCs, for more content. Can't see how it's unreasonable at all.

That's 1/3 the price of the whole game for <10% of new content.
If T10 had the license, porsches would've been part of the game at launch and cost nothing extra.
Getting the most profit out of the consumer has always been part of the equation and I have no doubt T10 preferred to have Porsches as paid DLC rather than a launch MFR.
Still, can't wait.

Of course the full game is going to cost less per car, it has always been the same in all DLC packs.

And people seem to forget the extra cars they put in to replace the missing Porsches? It is still excellent value for money compare to any racing game ever made.

That's my view on it. This is a bit steep as I'm sure many of these cars were modelled and ready to go last summer.

I'll still buy it but I can't agree with the price.

1600MS?

NOPE. Porsche is one of my top three manufacturers but that is not going to fly. I'll gladly wait for FH or FM5 instead. Ridiculous.

I doubt it's a coincidence that the month after the season pass runs out, they surprise us with a Porsche pack. Come on. $$$$$
Worst part is, I'm betting the Cayenne GTS will not be part of the pack.

Why is is rediculous?

1 car pack with 10 cars = 560msp

so 3 car packs with 30 cars would be 3 * 560msp = 1680msp

Porsche pack only 1600msp, so we save 80

They were never going to come with the game (thanks EA), so seems fair enough to me.

Not according to turn 10.

and anyone complaining please tell me what racing games has cheaper cars as DLC then Forza....

it's the price of a half decent dinner.

even if it is during the seasonal pass period it still wouldn't be covered, they made it very clear it's for the 6 monthly packs.

You'd be surprised, D.

Apparently there was content planned before the Porsche deal was finalized that doesn't look to make it in.

There's also talks (unless I'm misunderstanding) that Porsche will be running by itself, which, if that means what I think does... I do not like that.
