Now that, sir, is an overreaction.

Let's just agree that this "conjecture" thread has been interrupted by us saying nothing of interest to non-WMD members in far too many words, and get back to normal service: here fun talk about what might be, WMD2 for talking about what actually is.

Which brings me back on topic: imagine a CORR truck or 3 done in a proper sim with the kind of tracks where surface deformation is a thing. Digging through the mud on one lap, only to find on the next that you have to take another line to compensate. Or a bunch of Wildcats running through snow, churning it up, leaving nasty ice...

There's issues that have to be fixed before going off in different tangents (game wise). Physics were okay but they need refinement and polishing before they earn our trust of going into rallying (not to mention the awful road car flop physics). Less this becomes the War Thunder of racing games. Does planes and tanks well, but neither have been mastered and yet they're adding PT boats. NOT a brilliant plan.

Pretty much this. My concern is that Project Cars 2 will become a Jack of all trades, but master of none. PCars was a great game but wasn't without its flaws, I'm hoping for the best but PCars 2 will need to be a much more refined experience.

Maybe it's just me, but if they were to release a kick-ass sim with their already great graphics, weather, decent AI and a proper customization that contained ONLY GT3 cars (where they shine the most in PCars1) like 10-12 different ones, with accurate BOP, real life livery and a career with GT3 series and Endurance races with drivers swaps, variable weather and time of the day in Online and offline...

Well i would preorder right now.

Give me the essential, give it to me in PERFECT shape, not asking for gazillion cars that can't race against themselves, not asking for loads of road cars... For me it's all about RACING. Let me RACE and ORGANIZE series to my heart's wish offline and online.

It's not just you because I'd buy that in a heartbeat, although I can see how it would have limited appeal for many & wouldn't be a great business decision for SMS. I wonder how it would sell if it was like an expansion pack or spin off type deal?

Edit: On a side note I'd dying for some concrete info or teasers for PCars 2 (officially sanctioned of course)

Just No, for me. Variety is the spice of life - my favourites in the first game go all the way from the Caterham Seven Classic to the TS040. GT3 is not the beginning and end of racing.

I prefer less choice and great physics, perfect recreation, great damage, realistic weather and time changes, dynamic tarmac behavior etc etc...

If not gt3 ok touring cars... I do not care much about the serie as long the racing (racing not driving alone) experience is top notch.

I'd like to add a small personal wishlist.
I can image some people will not agree on some points, but that is why I wrote personal... :)

No loose surface / rallycross. I'd probably never use it and then it sits there, taking space away for more proper tarmac racing.

Road cars ? Up to a certain point maybe...but only a small minority if needed.

No oval racing.

Some more NA (and other tracks) would be welcome (big fan of Road Atlanta a.o.)

I would like a proper triple screen support this time.

Less difficult FFB setup (but keeping the same FFB) would be a plus.

Don't need the chat messages from fans or the team comments.

If career mode is set up the same way, I would appreciate the possibility (once career is finished) to choose whatever career race I want to repeat, without having to work myself through a bunch of races I don't want to do again at the moment.

AI slider to 120% maybe ?
Dry lines after it stops raining ?
Improved car sounds.
Sound of a starting engine like in R3E. Adds a lot to immersion (which is already best of every sim I tried).
Cockpit view a bit brighter for several cars.
View back = actually looking through the back window, seeing the spoiler.

Audi TT RS please.

I love pCars1, allow me to love pCars2 even more...

^ agree, agree, agree, agree, agree.

I'm a fan of Fanapryde.

I like pcars career mode with the race weekends and series, etc. etc.
My only gripe is that once you accept a contract you're stuck with that particular car for the rest of the season. I started the gt4 championship with the Aston just to discover that it didn't fit my driving style and after a couple of weekends had to restart the series with different car. The thing is I would like to drive several cars without begin committed to more than 12 or so races with the same car. (other than same car championships :D).
I know this is how real life is but a creative way for "car or team hopping" will be great.

Well to be fair you could have test driven it in a single race or practice mode. :P

True. That's what I did after restart and used the ginetta. But then again if I want to try the Mustang or bmw will need to do it on custom weekends or rerun the championship....:banghead:
I do not see the issue, you can start a new career on the same championship... No need to start from zero.

I'm happy with PCars 1. Only cars I was hoping would be added, were the V8 Altima and maybe a Chevy Cruze/Focus/Civic to battle the 320 TC.

I'm satisfied with the variety. Ginetta Juniors, Escorts, Clio Cup, GT4 and V8 Supercars are the most series I've played. Though, some Super Taikyu ST-4 & ST-5 category cars wouldn't go awry. I'm one not fussed about the road cars. I've only tried the 2002turbo and 1-series.

Pcars- very good game although I think a little too biased in favour of GT3 cars. Shame about not having any Ferraris, Lambos or Maseratis. Doesn't feel quite right not having a 458 GT2 or a Huracan GT3.
As someone else mentioned, too many standalone cars without rivals to race against.

I might have to have another think about the road cars. I just DoD an 86 a One Make race.
1. I did not realize the cars have retro liveries.
2. I did not realize the tyres have raised white lettering
3. I did not realize the cars have retro liveries.

👍

I was more fixated on the Ginetta G40, as that car is perfect.
The 86 is not a bad car. It'll be interesting to see what road cars make it.

I really hope the dlc integrates better into career , for example the TSO40 Lmp1 and R18 ETron should be available in the endurance category along with the new GT3 cars that was added as dlc .

And how do you know the physics is/are(getting old :P ) great if you cant compare it to cars you have driven?

From what I can see in the dev build now, SMS seems to be filling up those areas nicely. I think almost all of the classes that lacks rivals to compete against in pCARS1 are getting filled with competitor/rival cars.

So the BMW 320TC is being rivalled with similar Super 2000 cars then?

Well then, I might be able to use the Altima V8 Supercar in the next game. ;)

I hope they sort out the tires on formula A and maybe put in a 2017 f1 car with the ERS and other stuff...

Drove 300k on 1 tire set last night
