Is the AI still getting optimised, even after the game gone gold? As seen in a few videos, especially the racing line seems to be not optimal at least for me. Sometimes, I think they stay too far away from the sidelines.

PS4 with T300RS and pre-ordered standard pCARS version from Amazon (UK). Feel free to add me to your psn if you fancy overtaking some back-markers :) psn: helicon2
Unfortunately changed my mind early in the year and cancelled my PS4 copy of the game and bought the Steam version after upgrading my graphics card to EVGA GTX970.

You'll still have 30+ other PS4 users in a single race simultaneously on a good day…probably easier to find than PC to be honest. I'll probably be spectating a lot of races since I'm not used to many of the tracks.

Once again kudos to WMD members & SMS with such innovation and effort. Thanks :cheers:

There's this over the top enthusiasm for PCARS right now, and i guess it's because console owners have been desperately starved of a decent racing sim for so long :)

In my case having moved to PC a couple of month or two ago has curbed my enthusiasm a bit, as the only thing PCARS adds on what sims like AC and R3R provided already is eye candy and dynamic weather/ day night transitions.

I haven't played a decent racing sims on consoles in almost a year (Including GT and the like). Been stuck with GTR2 and rFactor 1.

Eye candy and a single game combined AC+R3E with better career/online mode to name a few.

Well it has both AC and R3R's FFB and physics to live up to, which we'll only be able to compare in 21 days, and i already know the sounds of R3R won't be topped. But yes the career mode and eye candy seem a step forward compared to those two titles, so i hope that will give me feeling like it's something new and innovative.

For the US X1 guys: It might be worth it to change your region to get the download early since it is region-free. not sure about PS4 but I imagine if it is region-free it'll work the same.

Just a note about this guys. Changing the region alone will not unlock the game early. The unlock time is solely based on what region you buy the game from. Buying from the U.S. Xbox store and changing the region on your Xbox to UK WILL NOT unlock the game early, it will still unlock at the U.S. date.

For the U.S. guys to get it early you will have to buy it from the UK, European or the Australian Xbox Live stores

16 max on PS4.

Don't forget the beautiful weather.

Oh sorry… you're right. Online mode is 16 whereas against AI is 30+ for consoles.

Am I the only one who wish that since the game has gone gold, we should be allowed to play the damn game after so many delays? At least let us download the game since we'd already ordered the digital version of the game?

The last time we console peasants saw a proper racing simulator must've been Race Pro (if that counts), which was only released on the XBOX 360 - more than 6 years ago now. It's about damn time we got a new toy to play with.

:p

As far as I've encountered, it's scripted weather, so each time you go through the championship, you will get the same weather events as you did before.

Why that? There is a random weather system in single race mode, so why not in career mode?
And is there some hope for a post release update to change that? Otherwhise it seems kind of odd if you stay in your racing series for another season and you already know how the conditions will be for every event.

I guess you can call it eye candy, I call it state of the art. One thing I tell you, after pCARS graphics I just could not play rfactor/rrre?/anyothersim for more than 1 hour. I guess after three years of testing, you get used to the visuals, but playing those games seems like I'm going from PS3 graphics to ps2 (ps4 is not that impressive compared to PS3), of course you can but why would you.

Race pro was very good, bugs and all. I wish it would have taken off more and got the proper support it deserved. It could have been much more.
